For all other sports as the only 1a in a split conference Polk would have had to finish top 3 or with .500 or better record which they easily did in wrestling they were punished for losing a duel to RS who was also ranked top 5 in 2a and won in first 2 rounds Polk beat both Robbinsville and Avery head to head during season but got seeded behind them because of this.

Yes but for all other playoffs you would have had a playoff bracket that was double ( 32 Western Seeds instead 16). That is probably the reason for the "concession" that had to be made due to your brackets being smaller. On the other side of it, Polk gets to host regionals as a 6-seed due to proximity while Pisgah gets to drive to St.Stephens as the No. 1 seed. The dual brackets are just different.

I get that there are only 16 teams in the bracket but seeding Polk with the conference champions wouldn't have change who or how many teams made the playoffs, same teams would have gotten in they just would have been seeded differently but it's all good as you said they get to host the 3rd and 4th round but it's more of the point about matchups every team would have shifted one place after Mt Airy who matches up with who matters.
Avery will still score a ton of points in the individual and could win it. Likely to have minimal 3 champions and several others place.
Any Robbinsville and Mt Airy fans on here for wrestling. I seen where they advance to the 1A Western Championship against each other. Congratulations to Robbinsville and to Mt Airy.
Yeah it was a great match between them and Polk came down to the last match to decide it congrats to Robbinsville for moving on and congrats to Mt Airy for winning the west hold it down at state.
Pisgah advances. Went into the final match against Piedmont up by 6 and then closed it out to win 36-27.

Good luck to Pisgah in the chip I've seen them a couple times this year they have a great team.
UCA comes out of the East with easy wins over S Davidson and NE Prep. Last time for them to be a 1A school with 1000+ kids and an all star lineup from several surrounding counties. Rosewood had so many kids sick that they forfeited and did not show up for the matchup with NE Prep in the 3rd round. Best wishes to MA in the finals!
MA vs. UCA will be a banger. Very solid lineups top to bottom for both teams except the MA 132. Every match features ranked kids going at it. 106 3v6, 113 3v4, 120 3v6, 126 6v10, 138 5v6, 144 1v6, 150 3v7, 165 2v3, 175 1v2, 190 3v10, 215 1v13, 285 2v8.
Heard MA had about 5 kids battling the flu symptoms also. Gutsy performance over an always good Robbinsville team.
Illness and injury suck but they are a part of what we all deal with some times Polk had three wrestlers that would have been starters out two for whole season and one for the duel against Robbinsville still proud of how our young team fought they are gonna keep getting better we only had 1 senior wrestle on Wednesday and only 2 on the entire team hate it for them this year but they should be a force next year as well.
Polk won the middle school wrestling this year as well. It seems pretty consistent most years that Polk, Canton, and Bethel are 3 of the 4 in the final bouts of our areas Middle School wrestling playoffs.
Polk started a wrestling club at the youth level led mostly by this year's sophomores and juniors and it has really taken off you can see the big difference it makes at middle school and high school levels the middle school team lost there first match in 3 years this year but still managed to win there conference and all those kids are just now getting to the high school the future is bright just gotta keep working each day to get better.
You're probably aware but that's the same for Pisgah. Haywood Elite basically started in youth with the group that were seniors last year and it has just continued to thrive. When you're high school wrestling room is sitting there with 45-50+ bodies, it's always a good start.
