CVAC 2024 - Week 11 🏆🏆

I had the pleasure of attending the Bunker Hill game. One of the best worst games I've ever watched. Bad officiating, bad coaching, and and a good Bunker Hill team is a tough thing to overcome.

The officials were bad for both teams. Threw a lot of flags on Bunker early but by the end of the half it was about even. They made a couple questionable calls against Bandys late which is probably the easiest thing for Bandys fans to point at. Biggest issue is they let the emotions get out of hand. It got chippy pretty early and they never really addressed it with either team. I saw one Bandys fans go onto the field at the end of the game. Supposedly a Bunker player took a swing at his kid but I didn't see that so who knows.

As far as coaching goes, Bandys ran the ball very well in the first half mainly out of the I formation. Their up by 17 in the 3rd quarter and for some odd reason they decided to go five wide and either throw it or qb scramble (many times running out of bounds) stopping the clock. Fast forward to the the last couple of minutes, Bunker scores with around 1:45 left on the clock to go up 1. Bandys goes right down the field, scores and gets the two points conversion to go up 7 with 29 seconds left. Bandys then does one of the dumbest things I've ever seen and onside kicks it simultaneously giving Bunker great field position on the 50 and running no time off the clock.

Bunker runs a couple of plays and gets inside the 30 yard line with around 10 seconds to go. Bunker throws a pick that get ruled pass interference. On the final play of regulation they throw a touchdown that looked like the QB may have went out of bounds before throwing the ball. Bunker gets the two point conversion and wins the game.

It should also be pointed out that Bunker seemed to use and abuse the injury timeout. I can't begin to guess how many times one of their players laid on the ground grabbing their leg just to come back on the field 2 plays later. I know it's become part of the game and I don't like questioning injuries but I have never seen anything like that.

Having said all of this I think Bunker is the better team. If these teams played 10 times I think Bunker wins 7 of them.

I think a lot of the injuries were cramping issues. I know it wasn't very hot but it was very humid. Bandys also had kids go down and come back in, so it wasn't all one sided either. We may of had more, idk wasn't keeping count, but they had some also.

Man what a game!!! My sister and niece were there said it was the wildest ending to a game they had ever seen as did my brother, saw the score looked like whichever team ran out of time was going to lose because neither team apparently couldn't stop the other!!
