Cleveland County

Also probably would have scored another but they treated the end of the 1st period like halftime despite only playing two periods so when the clock ran out we had to turn it over to Stuart Cramer (we got the ball first but even if we had kept it would have had to start a whole new possession). Those Gaston County refs were something else I tell you. They also gave Cramer a few extra seconds on that last drive.
Did I see them call roughing the passer after we had already picked it off? It’s a scrimmage and doesn’t matter but that was hilarious.

Chapman beats Shelby in our scrimmage 28-7

Indy scored opening drive on Gaffney
Shelby - Too many penalties, fumbles, bad snaps, a blocked punt, etc. We are going to have to straighten those things out. Every time we had a good play, we would shoot ourselves in the foot. We correct these we will be ok.

Agree with you on gaston county refs! Always a raw deal for outsiders.

Watched Nellies feed I had more fun listening to him and that dude in background yelling LOL
Dude you should have been there live 😂 I was sitting with Nelson & the guy beside us yelling. That was so much fun listening to him and even better talking to him. He's hilarious 😂

Well Fridays the night

Burns should roll
Crest and Shelby have a couple monumental tasks ahead

Still say KM ain’t got anyone that can throw it … but they have a powerful running game and we ain’t seeing any defense out of the Lions yet

Shelby by 1 14-13 kid still thinking about miss in the scrimmage and clanks another one ;)

Seriously enjoy gents should be fun

So many question marks for the games of each team in the County…I can remember a time when KM was non existent, Shelby and Crest did their best…Burns was always a wild card. Those early 2000’s games was fun except for KM fans maybe. Don’t let that first Loss discourage you kids reading this. We got PLENTY of time left on the clock. Hit’em high and and hit’em low Cleveland County. Somebody bring the ship home.

We community fans and others put a lot on our county players. It is CC football. Their goals are to beat county teams, win conference, and win state. If you’re a player reading this… play every play like it’s your last. Go get em for you, your team and school, and your family. And enjoy it and have fun out there!

Burns by 21
KM by 6
Crest by 1

Tough matchups to open the season for both Crest and Shelby. Gaffney is big and multifaceted offensively. KM coaches did a great job of not showing the offensive playbook to Shelby in their two scrimmages. Burns offensive weapons will be too much for FV this early in the season.

KM
Gaffney
Burns

I am hoping and praying that somehow the football gods smile upon Crest this upcoming Friday against Gaffney. Some of these Gaffney fans on social media are completely unbearable 🤮. I am definitely pulling for the Chargers to pull off a monumental upset..
Listen, I went to Limestone College for 4 years. I know exactly what you mean about the "Gaffnoids" as we called them. Gaffney and Gamecock football were the only things talked about. I couldn't stand either one of them by the time I left that place.

Wow! But, you seem like someone who’d pull for Russia over Shelby, despite having nephews who played there a few years ago. It’s all good though, my brother. I’m just ribbing you some, not looking for any smoke.😎

What type of offense does Crest play? Do they have tough nosed players and they play smash mouth football, or do they have a ton of athletes and try to get out in space and go?

They run the Spread. They have athletes in that offense, no doubt. Wouldn’t call them “Smashmouth”. We’d only call one of their posters that. Tre Harbison isn’t walking through that door to run over, through, or around someone. However, the Carson kid they currently have at rb does appear to be a hard runner. Just an outside perspective. Oh yeah, Green is definitely tough at receiver. Their
O line is a work in progress, though. It left a lot to be desired in the jamboree.

Good deal, thank you very much. Sounds like a fun game, athletes vs athletes. Wished I could be at that one.

That’s a fair assessment bro, I would also say that Cleveland County as a whole is not producing kids with size like we once where…Shelby and Burns also lack lines size and depth like Crest..KM seems to be okay with the size they have

Maybe for a half, but I am afraid that our Cleveland County mates will be blown off the field.

Gaffney at Crest: 42-14 Gaffney
Burns at Forestview: 35-14 Dawgs
Shelby at KM: 24-21 Lions I’m obviously bias, but I don’t see KM beating us by double digits, either. They’ve hardly ever blown us out. They did thump us pretty good in ‘19, though, but the game is usually tightly contested.

Shelby will actually play many both ways this season. That luxury of two platooning is definitely gone, at least with this current team.

I've heard Gaffney has some injuries to overcome this week. Could make the game a little closer than expected.

Instead of 30 plus points, maybe 20. That’s big time SC football, regardless. You guys blasted pretty much this same Crest team last year. Yeah, a year makes a difference, but what do you think an SC powerhouse is going to do to them. They couldn’t even block 2A Monroe in the jamboree.

100% agree. Instead of Gaffney by 30, I was thinking Gaffney by 20.

I actually had a nephew that played for Shelby a few years ago. He won a state title and let us know a few times about it over Thanksgiving dinner lol

Florida Lead GIF
Late, 3rd quarter of the Crest and Gaffney game.

Kinda wondering if Crest will pull their guys if it starts getting out of hand against Gaffney. With Burns & Shelby the next two weeks, I'd imagine they might if it turns into a 3-4 score kinda game.

You've got to wonder what Sosebee is thinking with that schedule.

Also, is anyone else still mad that there's only 10 games per regular season?

I mean selfishly I liked the 11 game schedule but I know the kids need an off week too. Burns' off week works perfectly at Week 6.
