Just heard that Cavalier Dave has passed away today. He was a great supporter of Cummings HS and high school athletics in general.

I would always Wendy’s in Burlington when I was in town and Dave gave us a free meal.

He was a former wrestler and remember him telling me about facing the legends like Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat and others.

Rest in Peace Dave!!

Met Dave several times. A great guy! He was also a NWA Wrestler. The Assassin I think! RIP Dave!

Dave Forrester was one of the good guys. He was a strong supporter of Burlington Cummins High football and was their P.A. Announcer for years. He always kept things interesting for that part of N.C. Rest in peace old Friend!
What a great high school fan and person. I just wish more of our poster friends had his enthusiasm and outlook on life.

Enjoyed interaction with him on the basketball side especially when Pisgah went on their run in 2005 and Cummings had TJ Gwynn and Dwight Jones on their squads.

Western Regional Finals against Cummings is still one of the best high school basketball games I’ve ever watched.

Prayers for his family.

So Sad...what a great football fan and person...played on the very first Burlington Cummings football team (fall of 1970)// Haven't seen him in a few years since he moved west towards the mountains but I have many fond memories of Dave Forrester...R.I.P. big guy...Heaven just got themselves a good one......................................

A great guy. I'm from Burlington Williams and although he was younger than me, I had the pleasure of meeting him through Cummings football. He was a super supporter of not just Cumming athletics but high school athletics all over. Myself, Cheerduck, and many of the Reidsville posters for several years would have a "Meeting of the Mouths" gathering in Reidsville, and Cavalier Dave would always come. It was always a good time to share stories. When visiting family, I always visited the Wendy's franchise to see him. He was always so hospitable. I hate to hear of his passing., RIP my friend 🙏🙏🙏

Dave graduated with my brother and our families were always close. Dave welcomed me into the press box with open arms when I came back to Cummings as a teacher. Lots of GREAT memories and he was one the best advocates for Cummings High School football that there ever was. I've been heartbroken since I heard the news. RIP old friend.

Don't remind me of that game!
that 2002 game between Cummings and Clinton was the 2A title game played right before the 2AA title game Reidsville vs. Bandys...Clinton would've probably won if not for a 4th down stop of Clinton in their own territory on a QB keeper..Cummings made the stop and then drove the short field to pull it out in the last seconds............Reidsville then defeated Bandys which gave the old North State 2A conference two title winners..............Reidsville had defeated Cummings 31-30 during the regular season....................That Clinton loss had to hurt terribly and made for a long ride back home from Winston-Salem to Clinton.....................
