13 -0 vs 13-0 PANTHERS vs PANTHERS Franklin @ Hibriten

The Newton game earlier in the year was packed. I expect a big crowd.
I agree it was.... But I also recall a few years ago in 3rd round against Forestview in Black Friday I was extremely surprised by the lack of a full house to see that game

Franklin always travels well but it being Black Friday I'm concerned some folks will just listen on the radio, still should be a great crowd with an awesome atmosphere!! Go Franklin Panthers

I'm bringing my super tall cow bell in case the crowd is light. We're gonna be loud one way or another.

OHHH how they beat our butts that night, it was cold, they put 8 in the box, that was it. Forestview had a beast of a running back,, mo something. We had nothing for them.

That was the year freedom was so good, forestview beat them at freedom, we beat Pisgah, giving us a third round home game. I think maybe forestview eventually lost to maybe West Rowan.

Believe it was Concord

Those were some good teams. I believe South Point was upset by Concord that year as well. I had a coach tell me its so hard to make it all the way a bad matchup, a bad game, injury, questionable call is all it takes and your season is done.

Correct, 21-13. That Concord team is a lot like this years Shelby's team from a defensive perspective. I can't recall the kids name at this moment but they had a LB, #44 ironically, that totally set the tone of the game.

SP How well does sp reload for next year? Hopefully we make that scrimmage next year.

We are in good shape for a few years. JV went 8-2 and won the conference. Started the season 1-2. One of those loses was to Clover, SC.

We lose some quality players this year on both sides of ball. QB, FB, C, (2) LB's, S, and (2) Shrine Bowl DL. But the stable is full. Our QB next year will be Keaton Hale. He has seen many touches over the past two years given our lopsided contests and saw action this year at wingback. The FB situation will continue to be strong. We have several options but expect to see Naseen Jones taking handoffs. He's a Soph. this year. The defense will take a step back looking at things now. It will be hard to replace Phillip Davis and Matthew Robinson on the D line. The secondary was young this year but loads of talent and should be a bright spot for several years.

Great I see a SP HIBRITEN battle in the future.. We owe you guys a butt whooping anyway.

So for everyone on here crying about Hibriten's Stadium - get a life. The last time I checked, no High School in NC has Jerry Jones as a donor. Besides, Caldwell County has 3 High Schools and all are controlled by our local School Board System. Unlike others who have only one High School in their county or are a "City School" (rich City School) like Asheville, Capital Expense items such as you're complaining about must go through the School Board. Understand what you're talking about before showing your ignorance about other school systems which you know nothing about. As for the Game. I hope everyone west of Marion comes out to the game. Would be nice to see such a large crowd and a GREAT VENUE!! Oh, and just a matter of game perspective - The Cats in Lenoir are very Elusive. For those having a hard time understanding the meaning of that word, let me be of assistance.
Elusive: skillfully evasive, difficult to grasp or catch.

I Think there will be a large crowd here Friday night, most franklin supporters don't seem to care where they sit or stand just seem to be happy they have the chance. Most people I have seen on here bitching about the stadium are people whom have came in, lost and left. Its high school football on thanksgiving, everyone should just be thankful to be watching these kids play.

Just sit on the home side. It's great. That's what I did last year.

For the deacons, choir boys, and preachers ... Now I lay me down to sleep...I pray to the good Lord that Franklin gets beat..If I should die before I wake please O Lord..don't let them make state.. Amen
Funny had no problem in Smogville USA w the all Haywood COUNTY crew including Mr deaver. Former bear player..and actually yalls 7-6 squad is 2 of our 13 victories or the same # y'all have in last 10 games..happy thanksgiving..
Mr. Dowdle would be your ringer ref compared to Mr Deaver being ours..is that what your saying

I'm saying quit whining and enjoy my thread about your 2017 season

He didn't even have a call against yall...lol so not sure what the big deal is there..bottom line y'all lined up incorrectly on a well designed fake punt and fumbled on the one yard line..and we're the beneficiaries of a great no call on a mugging in the endzone..but two things will never ever change 17-13. 14-7...i realize Pisgah isn't used to 2-8 correction 2-0-0-8 against anyone..truth is it's been kinda a one sided rivalry..tuscola has beaten y'all more in 9 yrs than yall have beaten us..so yep we've got bout 335 days til y'all get to come back to the pit...hooefulky mr dowdle is here and the black smoke will be boiling off wayah street..

Fortunate, for me, I got to smile at you guys while ya'll were flabbergasted in the inability to move the ball. Shellllllshocked! #26-0[/QUOTe

That's true... and as of last Friday you feel the same loneliness as we felt after loosing that game. HURTS plum to the gut, you get beat by a team you felt you should beat.

True that! Everyone eventually gets to feel both sides of that kind of game. One way is the most glorious experience, the other is the worst you could imagine.

All anyone can do is line up and play, again, next year!

Just a question to the south point folks..what was the biggest difference between. Yalls first and 2nd game against shelby....ive saw South point play many times through the years in the playoffs they have a very knowledgeable and loyal fan base...seems hibriten does also..like I've said i hope franklin can do there part in Friday night

Physicality; nothing more. They played tough and to the whistle which caused some chippyness. We got some penalties that we aren't accustomed to getting that killed drives. The first game we played downhill and Shelby was forced to play our brand of football. Game one we isolated Dax and he was never really a factor. The second game was the exact opposite. Other than the opening drive of the game in which SP scored in (4) plays; the flow of the game was controlled by Shelby. Dax was a damn freak; laying lumber. We were made to play their game. They changed their approach slightly and moved Dax to the backfield to block for Dada that created a little more space than in game one. The O line was able to keep Surrat in the pocket and not running for his life as in game one. Even so, SP led with 4 minutes to play and could have won the game. But if I'm honest game one I was never really in doubt; game two I was never really confident. Two total different games. I think the teams are pretty even. If we played 10 times straight it would be close to a split.

I have been to Hibritten stadium I can assure you that they will be plenty of seats on the visitor's side.If they couldn't feel their home stands last week at home they certainly want away.

I didn't see the first game but did see the second game I have also see both programs a lot over the last couple years. South point was totally out of their confront zone after the first half. It's was a fast pace game and south point looked flustered and Shelby never looked different. Now with that said both teams played very good and the raiders defense was playing well and Shelby D also played well. The adjustments that Shelby D made was the difference, sometimes had7or 8 down lineman and nobody ever got to Dax on the 2nd level. He lined up 6-7 yards off ball and read the play and went to lay the wood. But the biggest reason for the south point loss was THE FUMBLE !!!!! After Shelby scored south point was getting the ball back with well over 2mins to go. Now they was gonna have to make some magic happen but it could of happend. The kickoff was being returned and the kid was making a great run and the guy form Shelby during the tackle stripped the ball out and Shelby recovers it. That was the end. That was the dagger in the heart of south point. This was not a 10point game it was 3 points either way. The fumble was the game. The guy that fumbled the ball was carrying it great it just got stripped out. Shelby made 1 more play and that was a striped ball. Either way WHAT A GREAT GAME THO
