East Burke 44, Burns 33

Bulldogs had no answer for Brandon Clark, 207 yards for FIVE touchdowns. And we had several injuries. We're going to be thin going in to the East Rutherford game. The thing is, the offense showed up tonight, but our defense let us down. We were hurt by injuries and a fumbled interception early in the second half when we led 19-16. Momentum swung back to the Cavaliers for good after that fumbled interception, even after we cut it to 30-27. Tom Brown went for 2 every single time and got it almost every time. I can't blame him for that, Matt Beam did that a lot when he was here. Bulldogs will be decimated for East Rutherford and it doesn't help they will have had 2 weeks off and we will have had 3 days off but I know the players we will have will give it 110%. Next man up!

I am going to forgo the regular season standings here. Life has gotten in the way the last little bit of time and has put me behind and I do regret that. I will keep the game running until the last week of the regular season as way for you all to pick and have fun with it.

I will however bring the points back for the playoffs and we will crown one singular champ then. We will do the area teams and if none is left by the end we will do what playoff games are around. Point scale will be the same. Winner will get sole bragging credit.

MAC picks......

Erwin at Enka
North Buncombe at McDowell
Asheville at Reynolds

Erwin 62 Enka 21....I remember last year when Reynolds started their season playing a schedule similar to what Erwin has this year. When they got to the MAC's bottom teams they punished them. I look for Erwin to do the same and take out some serious frustration.

NB 35 McDowell 28..The Hawks showed some life last week but it was vs hapless Enka. I think they will have enough to beat the Titans.

Reynolds 35 Asheville 28....biggest game of this year in the mountains. I have not seen Asheville play but they seem to be pretty darn good. As for Reynolds I know they are for real. You want to beat the Rockets, it's simple. Stop Rico...lol..Good luck.

Four County Week 7

Missed the West Bladen/Union game by 37 seconds, oh well. Knew it would be a close one, though. That loss plus Clinton and EB's win put me at 27-6 on the year.

Game of the Week
East Bladen @ Clinton- Clash of the 2 Giants in 2A this year. This is a tough prediction with so many factors being involved. You have EB playing a tough game last night with short rest and Clinton having an easy victory over Pender which seems weeks ago. Who will benefit the most? Eian Hines being questionable for EB? Clinton's O vs EB's D? Not knowing Eian's status and EB on a short week, plus playing over in Clinton. I think the odds are stacked against EB. But, I still believe in this D and been bragging about them all year. I think they get the job done for the Eagles. East Bladen 22- Clinton 21

Wallace-Rose Hill @ West Bladen- WB proved me wrong against Union and showed some fight last night. I think the Knights hang around for a half but WRH will have too much in the end. Wallace-Rose Hill 38 West Bladen 16

Union @ Trask- Union will shutdown Trask's Offense and will muster up enough Offense to win this one. Union 24- Trask 6

Midway @ Pender- Midway was very impressive on D and Pender looks pretty anemic on Offense. Midway has enough weapons to blow this one open. Midway 31 Pender 0

Not praying for rain this Friday!!!!
