Wiz and all DH fans

Working on a new way to listen to the play by play for Clinton Football for all iPhone users. I have downloaded a new app that I'm working with to try and produce a live feed for all fans to listen that can't pick it up online at oldies1170.com, or star channel 16. I can post the link that will take u directly to the broadcast on Twitter and Facebook. Once I'm sure this will work I'll post my Twitter name to follow and I'll have the link posted, more information to come soon, but Wiz I'm working on it.

Four County Week 8

I could not find a Union/Trask score so I stand at 29-7 right now.

Game of the Week
Clinton @ Midway- Clinton comes off a huge win vs East Bladen and supplants themselves as the team to beat in the conference. Unfortunately for Midway, they are coming into this game on a short week. I'm guessing Clinton will have a bit of a hang over from Saturday and takes them awhile to get going plus Midway's defense isn't that bad. They just struggle offensively. Clinton will win but it may take some time to distance themselves from Midway. Clinton 45- Midway 6

East Bladen vs Pender- Usually homecoming has too many distractions and causes a team to come in without the focus that they would most often have. I suspect East Bladen has had one of the hardest weeks of practices they will have all year. Talent is not EB's problem it is the lack of focus which has shown the past two games. Pender comes in on a short week also in which Midway put up big numbers on them. I will be shocked if this one isn't bad by mid way to 2nd quarter. East Bladen 64- Pender 0

Trask @ West Bladen- Healthy or not, West Bladen puts it on the Titans. West Bladen- 42 Trask 12

Wallace-Rose Hill @ Union- Even though Union's D has played well this year, they will have its hands full stopping Gallaspie and Cannady. Union may have some success stifling the WRH Offense but in the end they have way too many athletes for the Spartans to contend with. Wallace-Rose Hill 41- Union 6

If anyone has the Union/Trask score, please post it. Thanks!!!!

Albemarle vs. West Mont. @ 4:30???

According to the local radio guys, the big game Friday will be played after school. They quoted that recent drive by shootings between the 18-20 year old former students at both schools has led to this decision. Obviously, the local police know more about this than I do...but, it is sad how fast our country has fallen. I haven't heard of anything like this in my 30 plus years around h.s. football.

Dearest Clowns of Crest!!!!!!!

I've been quiet all year long.. Have not made a post such as this for a long long time....

BUT!

Where are all you Crest clowns? I know the fair is in town, and like being a crab fisherman in Alaska, most of your yearly income comes from being the pixie dust spreader at the tilt-a-whirl, but where are yall...

Sadly, I must admit, its pretty boring around here!!!!!

So did yall get the "SHUT IT" speech from Coach Clark at one of the backroom meetings at the Quick Snack? Are you trying to get in all the soybeans from the field?

WHAT THE HECK????

At least your lap dog Crest91 is still around polluting the threads with his WOE IS ME thoughts on a weekly basis.... I know its not from being worried about losing a game over there with all that talent... So what gives?

When REVO Communications folded, did yall all lose internet capabilities? Did Earl NC go under from the 4 inches of rain? Did Crestrulz and Robbie get lost coming back from Clemson?

Come on out and play!!!!! I mean Hooch making season is still a few weeks away....Yall haven't lost so you cant be butt hurt like your newest biggest fans Seadog and Coondog..... Hmmm... Both Raider fans with Dog in the name.... Are yall brothers? Father and Son?

Come on Clowns... Fire away..... Actually almost miss reading the daily drivel that commences from your manure incrusted fingers...

SHEESH.....

Your friend,

Shelby Lion

Congrats to Kollin on the Shrine Bowl.... Good kid... knew he was going places.... Keep working hard young man, the sky is the limit for you...

Thoughts on the Mount Airy vs North Stokes Game Monday

Well where is all the Bear Fans .What are your thoughts on The MA vs N.ST game.Did losing to Surry Central put you to sleep. I say the 1 point win at North Surry game drained them and to overconfident at Surry Central with some other thoughts I have about the loss at Surry Central . Coach Holder knows what he is doing and there will be a turn around at least by next year if not before. Every post I have about the Bears does not have to be carried to the gutter.I have not spoken bad about any ones team this year.

AC Reynolds smashes Asheville and other MAC scores

AC Reynolds beats Asheville 54-21 and yall can post your other scores around here too although I don't know what they are.
Congrats to AC Reynolds on the MAC championship and a possible number 1 seed in the playoffs. Rico Dowdle is incredibly special, there is no other way around it. He is the best offensive skill player I have seen since Johnny White and Crezdon Butler 10 years ago. Every decade or so a special special player comes along and he is that. Never once did he get up and show boat and act like he was the man. He never got in anybodys face and even in the post game interview he only talked about his teammates. You pair a player like that up with a coach like Shane Laws and you have something special. I thought Reynolds man handled us and our guys just went through the motions as if they didn't expect Reynolds to be that good.
My Cougars are not a top 3 3A team like they were ranked in the AP poll. Maybe we are a top 10 team, but its hard to believe that after tonight. Our best hope is to finish the season 10-1 and get a 3-4 seed. If we meet Reynolds again, I hope we can give you guys a better game, but tonight was an ass kicking to say it nicely. Our defense has been an incredible disappointment this year. I thought for sure with the guys we returned we would be better, but we just couldn't stop anything. Going into a game with Reynolds, you know your only job is to hit Dowdle and bring him down. Its obviously easier said than done, but we were just awful tacklers tonight. Our players looked scared to be honest.
Offensively we were pretty terrible. I kind of had a feeling earlier in the year when we didn't blow out Franklin or Pisgah we might be in trouble. As I said earlier in the week, it seems like Reynolds of all teams knows our offensive plays. There were numerous times when we would line up in a certain formation and Reynolds linebackers would damn near intercept the toss on a toss sweep. It's like they were in our huddle.
The disheartening thing about watching us get smashed tonight was the attitude. The guys who should be leading this team were the ones acting like cry babys! I think Christian Green played his ass off and if it wasn't for him we would have lost by 60. I'm still shocked at how little we get Brewer involved in our offense. We threw to him one or 2 times tonight. One resulted in a 30 yard touchdown. I just do not understand it.
Congrats to Reynolds again on the MAC Championship. I don't think you guys will win another game this regular season by less than 30. Keep Dowdle healthy and who knows what can happen. Maybe we can come by RL Dalton stadium again in 7-8 weeks.
Oh and Reynolds sucks!

Rosman at Andrews

After an impressive win over Hayesville, the Rosman Tigers will travel to face a Wildcats' team that has beaten them the last 3 times that Rosman has visited the northeastern part of Cherokee County with Andrews winning 26-21 in 2013...

Most folks will say this is a trap game for the Tigers, since Robbinsville will be coming to Tigertown the following week, and those folks would be right...

Here's a brief history between the Tigers and Wildcats:

The first opponent from the current SMC that the Tigers played was Andrews way back in 1962 in Rosman's 3rd year of organized play....The Tigers lost that first meeting in dramatic fashion, dropping a wide-open HB pass on the game's final play in a 34-33 loss to the Wildcats....Trying to toughen-up his team against better competition, Coach Bill Cathy scheduled a regular season game with Andrews for the first time in 1964 with the Wildcats winning that one 39-13...Andrews would later claim the Region 4 title over Mars Hill 30-27 that same season...In 67', Rosman's season would once again end at the hands of the Wildcats in the playoffs as Andrews won 27-7...Later, Andrews would claim the only Western 1A Title that was ever awarded as the Wildcats beat Tryon 34-7 to claim the West, while Ayden would beat Liberty 20-14 in the East in the final year of divided 1A titles, until the state began awarding 2 1A titles in 2001...

It would be another 6 years before Rosman and Andrews would meet again, and this time it would be a SMC game in 1973 that would end in an 8-8 tie, which is the only tie between the two teams in this series....In 74', Andrews would shutout the Tigers(38-0) for the first time in another conference game...Rosman would leave the SMC after that 74' season to join the new Appalachian Conference in 1975 with members Cherokee, Tryon, Polk Central, Edneyville and NCSD....It would be 9 years before Rosman and Andrews would meet again on the gridiron with Rosman picking-up their first ever win and shutout of the Wildcats, beating the 83' SMC Champs on the road 21-0...The two teams would schedule non-conference games in 85' and 86' with Rosman winning both those games by 25-0 and 53-6 scores...In 89'-91', Andrews would shutout the Tigers twice in beating Rosman 3 times in 3 non-conference games between the two...In 92', the final non-conference game was played between the two teams with Rosman winning 37-14....

Beginning in 1993, Rosman rejoined the SMC, and the Tigers would record their first ever SMC victory over the Wildcats, beating Andrews 38-27....Andrews would bounce back in 94' to beat the Tigers 35-13 before Rosman would reel off 14 consecutive SMC victories between 1995-2008, before Andrews ended the streak in dramatic fashion with a 38-0 shutout of the Tigers in 2009, beginning a streak of 4 straight Wildcat victories that ended in Rosman in 2012 with a 43-26 SMC win by the Tigers....In 2013, Andrews would win at home 26-21 with the Tigers rallying to win last year in Rosman by the score of 27-18....

Andrews has beaten common opponents Brevard and Hayesville this season, and has beaten Rosman the last 3 times that the teams have played in Andrews, so this is not going to be an easy "W" for the Tigers this friday as many believe....

The two teams have met 35 times thru the years with Rosman holding a 21-13-1 edge in the All-Time series between the two teams...

In SMC play, Rosman holds a 17-6-1 advantage....

In playoffs meetings between the two, Andrews holds a 3-1 advantage....

For the Tigers to have a chance this friday, they will have to contain QB Taylor Parker and RB Dillon Ward in order to break the 3-game losing streak to the Wildcats in Andrews, and it's likely to be a Homecoming game too boot...

Needless to Say, Rosman needs to stay focused on one opponent at a time, and this week's focus needs to be solely on the Wildcats of Andrews....
