Well since the MAC title has already been decided barring a injury to Dowdle, we are all playing for 2nd place and playoff seeds now. Here are this weeks games. What you got?

My picks..

Roberson 28 NB 24....Roberson seems to be playing a little more inspired these days and they have the athletes to play with most if they just gave a crap. NB has murderers row coming up in a few weeks so they better win now.

Erwin 45 Mcdowell 14...Erwin played the most pathetic I have seen them play in many years last week vs Enka. I have a friend that is a coach and he said it will not be a pretty week of practice. They cant expect to win by just walking out on the field. Mcdowell has a decent passing game and qb, but that seems to be about it.

Asheville 55 Enka 7....Asheville will rebound with a big win this week after their big loss to ACR. I have a feeling they show no mercy to Enka unless they decide to not show up like Erwin did..

Are there any posters from Ronda or Elkin with an opinion on this game?

Does East pee in their pants and keep Elkin in it and allow them a chance to win or does East play sound football and take care of business?

I have not seen Elkin play this year and I know their record is not good, however I also know they have played better teams than East. What do the Elks have?

For the record, some Elk meat raw would be good on Friday night.

Definition of a team win. From special teams to the defense, to making plays on offense when we had to have them, couldn't be more proud of our men. Next step is Atkins on Monday, rest up and hammer away in a couple days.

I know we talk 1A here but I just saw where Hough beat Mallard Creek tonight 31-28. That's the second loss of the season for Mallard Creek. Just thought that's a shocker to me.

Warriors cruise to a 42-6 lead. Our reserves give up two late scores to the Huskies. Robert Washington had a big first half scoring three touchdowns and carrying a lot of the load rushing and receiving. We are still pretty banged up, we need to get some of our key linemen back.

Asheville wins 55-7 over Enka. I said earlier in the week we needed to throw on every play just to work on it. We threw it 5 times. I was very happy to see Brewer playing a different position defensively tonight.

North Buncombe over Roberson I saw 27-24? Wow how pathetic is that? I feel genuinely bad for Seth Griswold the Roberson linebacker who is terrific. Good win for NB I guess.

Erwin over McDowell 34-23 I thought I saw. Looked like McDowell had Erwin on the ropes for a minute there in the second half when they were up. I am beyond speechless that Enka team held Erwin to 0 points last week in the first half. Looks like Erwin kind of coasted in this one and turned it on late to get a double digit victory. An ugly win is better than a pretty loss I guess.

If you have a private 2A school with an all male student enrollment competing in a public league, should they still compete at 2A level, or should they be bumped up to 3A or 4A, seeing as they may have more kids to choose from in boys sports. Or, should they be limited to competing with other private schools?

Northside is 0-6 after self reporting an intelligible player. Was 4-2. They have to win 4 of the next 5 just to qualify for the playoffs. Think they can?

1. We needed to make up for the South Creek and Southside washout last week.

2. It was tough to pick a double-jeopardy game, so I grabbed an extra single-jeopardy game instead. (All the conference games are still double jeopardy, though.)
