For the first time in this version of the Eastern Plains Conferences history, Washington goes down! Beddingfield handed the Pam Pack their first conference loss in 3 seasons by the score of 19-12. I knew they had a good team, in spite of their pedestrian record, but it seems to me that now, the team to beat in the EPC is Beddingfield. They sit alone in first place as the only undefeated team in conference. They are our last game. The EPC is on course to have tri champions.

Verysolid defense from andrews tonight but as usual we had about 8 penalties. Gotta cut those down if we want a deep playoff run.

Heard some news that Robbinsville's Chandler Jumper is out from a concussion. According to his Facebook he announced his season was done. I personally thought it was a back injury, but in this day in age of concussion its not a subject to take lightly. Hopefully all works out for this young man and he gets healthy.

It's debatable, and I'll tell you why.

1. They pretty much suck at offense and don't know it due to their weak schedule.

2. Touch football over the summer makes them giddy.

3. What a distracted bunch! Being the greatest team on earth (in your own mind) makes you susceptible to a hard nosed football team.

4. Red Raiders don't fear them.

5. A nasty group of Belmont boys are on a mission.

6. Their fans, though great, are seriously over medicated.

7. Our boys' houses don't roll.

8. Our boys' have a mother and a father and never get confused at a family reunion.

9. A hit in the mouth bleeds.

10. And finally, August is cramp season. Especially in a tight game against a team who doesn't back down.

I hope North Moore is healthy, because if they are, then the Mustangs have a chance ... Wonder what a full week's break between games will do for them? OK, have at it!!!

Mooresville was beaten up front. Plain and simple. SI took away the run and dared Mooresville to do anything related to a pssing attack. Even at that, the game was up for grabs, with SI holding on to a 14-10 lead with 7+ minutes to go. The Blue Devils had the ball near mid-field but were unable to generate a drive, thus punting. The Vikings drove the ball down Mooresville's throat for the clincher in front of a SRO crowd on Mooresville's turf. Special teams gaffes also hurt Mooresville. The Blue Devils had a FG attempt blocked, were stuffed on a fake punt attempt on 4th and 12 from their own 35 (SI scored on the very next play), gave up an 80 yd KO return to set up another SI score, and then muffed a punt return. Credit SI with the hard earned win. They should do well in the 3AA playoff field. Congrats to Scott Miller and his staff. This is a good win for them, but for Mooresville, it was a humiliating loss. Next week Alexander Central comes to town.
