Randleman vs High Point Andrews

Final thought....The Tigers played their tales off and were in the game till the end.....Very proud of our guys
for the way they played out the year. After the PG game where we laid an egg( one of those nights ) we re-grouped and in spite of the jawing from the outside about how we were not so good anyway , I hope you
got a good look at how our conference played against outside opponents. I think the scoring speaks for itself.
A big thank you to the football staff at Randleman high for their dedication and hard work , never giving up on the kids , always working till the last tick of the clock. We are very Lucky to have these men....Handy , Hughes , Timmons , Mitchell , Hoogkamp , O'Brien , Collinson , Small , Routh , and any others I may have overlooked. They all get a tip of the cap from our community....They are always there working hard and we will always be there for them...........It's a Great Day to Be A Tiger!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait till next year!

Four County Week 14 2nd Round of Playoffs

Went 6-1 last week with my upset pick, Union, almost pulling it off. Last week put me at 49-10 for the year.

2AA Playoffs
Clinton vs Beddingfield- Watched Beddingfield on tape and they like to spread you out with a good mixture of run and pass. They have some good athletes on both sides of the ball but seem to struggle offensively against aggressive Defenses. I think this game is tailor-made for Clinton and they will have their way with them. Clinton's Defense will shut Beddingfield down and the dark horses will get a bunch of possessions. Clinton will wear down their defense and score a bunch in the 2nd half. Clinton 42- Beddingfield 10

1AA Playoffs
Wallace-Rose Hill vs Camden- Wallace continues its dominance over the weaker 1A teams. Camden's 9 wins have come against teams that are 37-64. Although 7 of those made the playoffs, only 2 of won their 1st round game. They also got dismantled by Northeastern 67-6 earlier in the year. I don't see this one being close at all. Wallace-Rose Hill 49- Camden 6

2A Playoffs
East Bladen @ SW Edgecombe- These two are mirror images of each other. Both like to ground and pound and control the clock. I doubt many points will be scored and this will be probably the fastest game of the playoffs. Both teams have good running attacks and similar passing games. Special teams are equal and both Defenses are really good. This will come down to penalties, turnovers, and down and distances. I liked the way East picked it up on Offense this past week and I hope it continues. The Eagles pull it off in dramatic fashion again. East Bladen 21- SW Edgecombe 20

Good Luck to all 3 Four County teams this Friday and safe travel for all.

SP vs. SW Randolph

This is a game that SP should win handily, but it is the playoffs and stranger things have happened. Based on viewing stats and watching some film, they are balanced run and pass but not overly productive in either. 270 average total offense per game. QB has hit about 42% of his passes for about 120 yards per game. Two RB's with 900 and 500 yards. First guy's film looks good. He is elusive and difficult to get a solid hit on based on the highlight film. Shows longest run of the year at 35 yards, so may not have top end speed. 2nd RB is a bruiser and also plays LB. Saw them in multiple sets but mostly I and offset I but also run from the gun some. QB is not a runner as stats show him gaining 2 yards rushing on the year. SP needs to play their game and should be able to get by this one.

Eden Morehead 28 Western Alamance 27 in OT

I'm not even a Morehead fan but since they have zero representation on this web site....I thought I'd give a shout out to our fellow county Panthers on their big win.....now 9-3 on the season...losses to E. Alamance, W. Alamance (during reg. season) and Reidsville.....they are playing really well right now...but big hurdle next wk. vs Havelock...Anway congrats to them..............

North Surry at Maiden

#8 vs #9

On paper this match-up should always be a good one. I know nothing about North Surry...does anybody have any insight on this team?

Hopefully Maiden is ready to play...given the beatings we've taken the last 2 weeks I can only hope our moral isn't too low. Our 3 losses are to very good teams and we do play in a tough conference but getting beat like that is never good back to back.

Let's go Blue!

All Teams Matter ! !

These kids from all the schools work and wish so hard to make it to one playoff game knowing they can't go far ot even make a playoff and the ones that are always in the playoffs hoping to just win one more round. or the State Championship all need our respect for getting out on that field weekend and weekout most knowing they have no chance. Give praise to them all because they all don't have the large areas to draw from as some do. Please post a We appreciate all the teams that give it their all. They work their butts off just as much as the teams that are loaded. JUST A LITTLE RESPEACT ! ! Saying Good Luck To All and we appreciate you as we can't be here without you. They all have a place in the sceam of things .

Nobody wants to talk about....

Croatan beating Greene Central? I, for one, didn't see that coming. EDPanther, I know that you can attest to Croatan's abilities, but I thought that GC would ride their defense deep. They only gave up 80pts all season. That's tied for best in 2A, and third in the entire state, all divisions. At 10-1 coming in, they were ranked #6, losing only to #4 Kinston by a touchdown. 80 points all season, and they gave up more than half of that (41-35) in one home playoff game. A 10-1 and 9-2 first round game didn't seem fair, but the results shocked me. Croatan beat some good teams this year and had "good losses", but I didn't give them a chance. But looking at their schedule again, maybe I should. Easterners will know how impressive their wins and losses are.

Polk's Wheeler Sets State Record

Polk County's Jamal Wheeler set a new state record for career kick return td's with an 85 yard return in the first half against Thomasville for the 8th of his career. He broke the record set by Charles Johnston of Eastern NC School of the Deaf from 1988-1991. His 8th return is also second all time nationally with the national record of 9 being held by Trevor Mote of Arizona. Congratulations to Wheeler on a new state mark defiantly a silver lining in a mostly disappointing season overall for the Wolverine Senior.

List of returns
85 yards Sept. 7, 2012- Landrum
93 yards Nov. 9, 2012- Shelby
90 yards Sept. 27, 2013- Madison
98 yards Aug. 29, 2014- Asheville
69 yards Aug. 28, 2015- North Hend.
92 yards Sept. 5, 2015- Landrum
82 yards Sept. 28, 2015- Madison
85 yards Nov. 13, 2015- Thomasville

Record pending review by NCHSAA.

Your most intriguing first round matchup??

Which games do you think are the most interesting or could provide an upset? To me, the 2AA matchup between 8 Washington(7-4) and 9 Northside-Jax (4-7) is interesting. Looks like a cakewalk for Washington, but Northside is actually 8-3 on the field. Ineligable player caused some forfeits. Could see a upset there record wise. Also in the big bracket, 10-1 Greene Central's reward for an awesome season is a 9-2 first round opponent. Ouch. And in 2A, I will say that our own is interesting. SWE may be 10-1with a 15 point victory over our opponent three weeks ago, but they (Farmville Central, 5-6) led us 20-7 at the half, with their rb having over 200 yards in the first half. They put it on us. This is NOT a gimme for us. What games are you guys interested in?
