Tatermommys Thanksgiving Song

This song is called Mo's Restaurant, and it's about Mo's team, and the
players, and the game and thats all.

You can get anything you want, at Mo's Runover Restaurant
You can get anything you want, at Mo's Runover Restaurant
Walk right in wif your roadkill sack
From the road or the railroad track
You can get anything you want, at Mo's Runover Restaurant

Now it all started in August, practizing in tha hot sun. Mo's all time last round up and booger thumpin. And the players all got there and wuz tolt, 'Kids, now after we whap Southern Derm like Trumps gonna beat Hillary we wanna play on Thanksgiving'. And the kids said, 'Well Mo' can we go home till its gets cooler and Thanksgiving on a Thursday ant we's play on Friday' and Mo' just looked at them and knew alien abduction and brain removal was true.

Well them got loaded on bakker wagons an took to the doctor fer zaminatation and they got fired up and the nurse got fired up and the doctor got fired up and they all started jumping round like new divorcees saying 'win win win' and running around with veins in their teef and the SRO came and pinned a Hillary fer Prison metal on them and the doctor decreed them fit der duty and they went to the practice field and it was locked. And the doctor said, ' Well I am a vetrnarian'.

Well nobody ever heard of a practizing field being locked because there was nothing to steal but the grass or cement bleachers or maybe the goal posts so they clum over thar fence. And the SRO showed up. And showed them the sign. And the sign said no NO TRESSPASSING CEPT FER AUTHORIZED PERSONELL ONLY. And they looked at their football playing equipment.... And looked at the sign ant scratched there heads... And the SRO said kids, 'I gotta call the principal'.

Now the SRO took pictures of the sign and the of players and of himself taking pictures and they went to the office and on the principals door was a note that said, 'Gone to find greef counsellers after the lection'. And the players couldnt unnerstand how a note could say anything and the kicker said 'No habla englees'.

So they walked down US semiitty to Mo's house past the past all the burnt 'Make America Great Again' signs and all the folks laying aside them cross eyed crying like crackheads. And Motown saw them coming and he tolds his wife to answer the door cause he thought it was one of them police I gotta warrant tricks fer somfing he'd done after a wild night in Carrboro . And he heard the conversation and saw the pictures and saw the uniforms and he said, 'Get em choppin.' And his wife said, 'ok now what'. And Mo said 'go practice'. So they all took off to the practizeing field and they got there and AD Earnie said he'd quit and 'Mikes no difference to me had took ove'r said the lock is still locked and all the kids that could pick the lock graduated with the class of 2014 and I lost the key. And the kids were perplexed. Till AD Earnie said 'thats why the chain is just wrapped round the pole cause who wants to steal grass or concrete bleachers or the goal posts'. And Piston Wilson said , 'well aint crossing the goal posts important, thats all Mo talks about, either crossin or keepin the others fum crossin'. And AD Mikey called UNC and had them awarded full scholarships and they e-mailed the diplomas to Mikeys etech a sketch. Cept Wilson everybody but Carolina wants him.

Well the SRO walked up and seen the sign and saw the players on the field and saw impliments of mass destruction and mayhem. And he went up to AD Mike and said he was gonna call the DA who lives next to the practizing field and get a legalese answer for a probable just because question and the DA walked up and said, 'its a rake'.

Well that settled all that and all was well and the season begun and the wins piled up and the losses were naught and that feller who leaned over the railing at County Stadium railin' 'why dont yall go home' couldn't think of anything to say after the clock started runnin near his house, so soon it was Thanksgiving week and Mo said on this Thursday all are invitationed to Mo's restaurant and the kids turned pale. Cause they knew that whatever got killed got grilled and whatever was left on the ground at the farmers market which included some 'glacomer medicine from Colorado' would end up in the metal pot and sock washer and would soon appear on their freshly dog licked clean plate. And they looked at Paytown Wilson who said 'Be a lert cause the world needs more lerts' and they knew they had a remedy. And they called Mo's wife who is a genus and qualifies for every gubberment program after living in the MoTown commune. Who had pizzers delivered to the restaurant. And AD Mikie knew he could put it on the principals credit card. Who was still amassing greef counsellors for those who don't unnerstand what not enuff votes means..

Ant Mo got out his guitar. And they all sang.

You can get anything you want, at Mo's Runover Restaurant
You can get anything you want, at Mo's Runover Restaurant
Walk right in wif your roadkill sack
From the road or the railroad track
You can get anything you want, at Mo's Runover Restaurant

AD Mike said that was horrible. Mo said if you want to win and stuff you got to sing loud.
I've been singing this song now for twenty five minutes. I could sing it
For another twenty five minutes. I aint proud, or tired. But the fans will take it up Friday and all will sing in harmony....

West Forsyth Sophomore KJ Henry is now a 4 Star recruit...6'6 220lb DE

West Forsyth has another STAR(4) at DE following in the footsteps of Alex McAlister (Florida) and Jalen Dalton (UNC)... and many believe he's better at the stage of his young career than the two of them. See Highlights below. He also soars regularly "above the rim" in basketball. West Forsyth basketball coach Rusty Larue "probably" "politely" and "quietly" hoping for football season to end...just my opinion. The basketball team is loaded but 4 starters are playing football. Good Problems

SouthWest Edgecombe vs Fairmont

78Fnqmh.jpg

We were successful up against South Columbus which has a history of nothing but a great program. I pray that South Columbus comes back next year with a signature of that history. Fairmont(11-2) will now face SouthWest Edgecombe(12-1) who in my opinion is nothing but pure test to Fairmont. Though they are physically smaller than most teams they have played this year, they bring the heat, the speed and every ounce of them $7 we all pay.

SouthWest Edgecome High School is no stranger to the 3rd round. This year they are playing bigger and with a stronger heart than what the team size signifies. They are fast, aggressive and they will hit you in the mouth. This is what has carried them to what it is now, the 3rd round. The question is, can they equally stop the passing game just as they have successfully stopped their opponents running game. if the answer is yes, Fairmont may have their hands filled. let's not forget the Williams kid, a bullet, sharp cuts, many yards and a pure touchdown contender. Finally, there's the quarterback- Skills at it's best. In the East Bladen game, they put the big boys in the dirt. With what aggressive heart they are playing with, I believe they will do the same with Fairmont.

Fairmont High School made history last night by advancing to the 3rd Round which has not been done since 1949. Fairmont must uphold the strength of what SouthWest Edgewood is bringing. This will not be an easy task, this will not be a walk in the park. Nothing but pure physical game on the line. Do not allow the team size to fake your imagination because SouthWest Edgecome has the edge with speed, heart, aggressiveness and field advantage.

The ones that attend will experience what the outcome will be at Pinetops. Best wishes to both teams.

Football on the backburner...

I want to take this time out to implore everyone that's traveling today and throughout the rest of the holiday season to please take extra precaution to be safe. The roads are dangerous everyday, but during the holidays, it magnifies. More people are out there, and unfortunately, more people are drinking too. Keep you eyes peeled, and have fun, but for the love of God, don't be one of those that drink and drive! I want to hear about your thoughts on the remaining games this year and for years to come! To my friends at Tarboro, East Duplin, Clinton, Andrews, Northeastern, my fellow Cougars, and everybody else that I go back and forth with...heck, to anybody that's reading this...have a happy thanksgiving, but more importantly, have a SAFE thanksgiving!

It's Time To Change The Process

To all NCHSAA football coaches: It's Time To Change The Process. The current method of seeding teams for the football playoffs is ridiculous! The method of having teams eligible for and seeded in the playoffs by conference finish is flawed. This is especially true for split conferences. With doing my ratings the last few years, one of the advantages I've had is receiving feedback, both positive and negative on those ratings.

One of the things I've heard over and over is that all conferences are not equal. I agree! This is one mistake the NCHSAA makes. It assumes all conferences are equal. They are not. Just because a team, in a split conference, was a top finisher among teams for its class, for example, McDowell, Mooresville or Lake Norman, doesn't automatically make them a top team worthy of a playoff spot. Lake Norman falls to Independence 31-0. Mooresville falls in the first round to a mid level Myers Park team. I won't even address McDowell. Granted, Mooresville and Lake Norman have had some success in the playoffs, especially Lake Norman last season. I'll get to that later.

Then in 4AA West, you have a game worthy of a regional final, or even a state final, being played in the second round...Mallard Creek and Butler. I'm sure some are getting tired of me repeating myself. But, some things need repeating. East Forsyth has gotten a pass with the bracket they are in. For example, they played a lower level Olympic team in their playoff opener. Now, they get to play Independence, a team that is down this year. Then, They'll either player a mid-level Myers Park team or a West Forsyth team they beat by three points during the regular season. This is the same West Forsyth that was fortunate to get by North Meck, AT HOME, in the first round. This is going on while Mallard Creek and Butler, who both could be state final worthy, meet in the second round!. Then you have Hough, who won the MecKa also in the bracket along with ArdreyKell.

This idea of having a draw to determine a top seed is ridiculous! This is no way of determining a top seed. The NCHSAA is supposed to be rewarding teams, but some teams are not rewarded. Butler and Mallard Creek, every year play top notch teams on their schedule. They even play each other. Mallard Creek plays arguably the toughest schedule in the state. They were only 7 points away from an 11-0 regular season record. And this is with injuries they've had. They're rewarded with a 6 seed. A two time defending state champion, playing the toughest schedule in the state, as a sixth seed. Now, the problem here even with my argument, is that Mallard Creek suffered those two losses. All the while a team like East Forsyth cruises with a lesser schedule and gets a top seed.

Hough, who beat that same Mallard Creek team, and who won arguably the toughest 4A conference in the state, gets a 2 seed. The message here is obvious. Under the current system, who you play means nothing, other than your conference opponents. So, teams are encouraged to soften their schedules.

Regarding East Forsyth, some will mention Page and how they had a very good team and won the title in 2011. The key difference here is, Page ran a gauntlet in winning that title. They beat both Butler and Mallard Creek, back to back, to win that title. East Forsyth is not required to do anything of the sort this season. My observation is this. I'll say it ahead of time, before East gets a chance to play a top Charlotte team and maybe upset them, and it won't be said this Charlotte guy is spewing sour grapes. Ever since 2012, when coach Willert of East talked about some the calls that went against his team in Charlotte, when they lost to Butler, it just so happens, East "won" the draw for the number one seed. At least last season and this one. I'm sorry, the law of probablity doesn't work that way. I'll go ahead and say what others think, but may not say. I'm not sure the so called "draw" is unbiased, especially when it pertains to Charlotte teams. They remember Tom Knotts and the dominance of Independence. They know all about the ridiculous accusations of recruiting. I think it's their way of "leveling the playing field". In other words, their way of punishing success.

What's the solution? Some sort of rating scale, to rate the teams. Eliminate the current conference finish set up and rate teams according to their rating. This is done in other states and can be done in North Carolina. So what if a McDowell's rating is so low they don't make the playoffs. Well, if they finish 4-5 or 3-6 in a split conference with 3A teams, they shouldn't make the playoffs. The same should hold true for a Mooresville or Lake Norman as well.

Either keep the regional format or eliminate it. Either way, use a rating scale, rating the teams from 1 to 32 or 1 to 16 in a regional format. But, this process of conference finish and "draws" for top seeding has got to go.

The kicker here is the coaches. The coaches have to initiate the change. But, I don't think a coach Willert from East or Coach Snow from West, would want to be a part of that. Neither would many other coaches from outside of Charlotte, They hear and read things too. They want that playing field leveled, in their minds.

So, the Charlotte teams will have to deal with it. But, I will say this. Let East play the schedule they played. Let them play in that easier bracket. But, if/when a Mallard Creek, Butler or Hough come rolling into town, and there's a 75% chance of that happening. Who's going to be more ready for adversity? An East Forsyth team, who played teams like Olympic or a Butler, who fought through team suspensions, a Mallard Creek who barely lost on the road to Byrnes, beat McDonogh with injuries and played in arguably the toughest conference in the state or Hough, who beat Mallard Creek and won that same conference?

East may have some physical talent. But, the mental side will definitely be in favor of a school from Charlotte. That was obvious last year from East's meltdown against Providence.

#2 SW Edgecombe 41 #7 East Bladen 21

East Bladen (10-3) came out on fire, returning the opening kickoff 80yds for the score, and remained hot for the entire 1st quarter, leading the home team 14-13 after one. But after the adrenaline wore off, SWE (12-1) went on a 28-0 run to put the Eagles at rest in the nest by the score of 41-21 in this second round matchup.
I felt like both teams were going in opposite directions over the last month of the season, and showed. EB looked to be struggling while SWE has been clicking. However, I do see why EB won 10 games this season. They weren't a bad looking team.

SWE 13 15 13 0 = 41
EB 14 0 0 7 = 21

TPTB want to continue the Big South 3A/2A

Gaston County Athletic Director Chad Duncan hopes the county's schools in the Big South 2A/3A can stay together in the same conference

I guess they think that since it can still be constituted as a split conference with South Point and East Gaston switching places with Hunter Huss and Stuart Cramer, that it is a good thing. Split conferences suck. Plus, some of the proposals for the Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland County schools for single classification conferences are quite workable and much more desirable. I hope that SP AD Kent Hyde is not buying into this crap. If they want to keep us together, I hope that SP would petition to move up to 3A.

I am so pissed that I can't even find words - at least not words that wouldn't get me banned.
