MVAC/NW/WPAC Pick The Winner Week 4

It's rivalry week all across the land. Teams to top to bottom are all getting wild; the team they want most is on the way. By Saturday come next will either by drinking sparkling grape juice by the bay, or will be crying in the hay. Then there's going to be teams in the middle thinking: "Hey what the hey? Why is Slasher rhyming?" For that dear sir is the true question that I have no answer.

But anyways here are the matchups for the week. 2 GOW's and no bonuses, sorry folks that's how the cookie tumbles:

2 GOW's (Worth 2.5 Points: )

Mount Airy at North Surry
Forbush at Starmount

The Rest (Worth 2 Points: )

West Stokes at East Surry
Surry Central at Elkin
East Wilkes at North Stokes
Alleghany at South Stokes
Atkins at West Wilkes
Patton at Wilkes Central
Ashe County at Hibriten
Bishop at Kestrel Heights
Word of God Christian at WS Prep
Walkertown at Parkland
Carver at North Forsyth

North Wilkes is off

Albemarle @ West Stanly

As for the game I think WS wins. By how much no one knows. However I don't think they'll take their foot off the gas, because of what we have done to them in the past.
As for Albemarle there are nothing but IF'S in the equation. If Mason hangs around a few years, if the staff stays intact, if the kids stay with it and continue to work hard, if the school can instill PRIDE back in it, if the fans will come out in bigger numbers, if, if if.......Then I believe we can build a winner again. However we have to be realistic. This team could go 0-11. Something we have to face. But I do believe we will win a couple of games. People I have seen Albemarle in the dumpster before. And I have seen us on the mtn top. Can we get there again. Sure, but it want happen over night. I for one am in it for the long haul...............

Cherokee wins!!

Not real pretty, but a Big Win. Choctaw had about 60 players. Huge line that averaged about 275-300! Tale of 2 halfs! First half all Choctaw, aided by about a zillion Braves mistakes!

2nd half, Braves caught fire. Passing game and running game were clicking! Mintz and Evans are a load to bring down. I think the Braves were in better shape as the huge Choctaw linemen were wearing down in 2nd half!!

Overall a great game to win. Big rivalry against a school twice the size of Cherokee. I was very proud of the Braves for hanging tough, not getting discouraged when things were going terribly wrong!!

Braves never, never, never give up!!!
