Reidsville vs Northern Guilford

Game 1 @ Reidsville. Double OT. Coach Teague went for 2 and Northern stopped Black on the 1ft line.
Game 2 @ Northern. Can't recall the score but I think it was 28-14 or so Northern
Game 3 @ Reidsville. Reidsville leading with less than 5 to go and Reidsville coughs it up
Game 4 @ Northern.... Reidsville is very good. Northern is down. I'm thinking 38 14 Reidsville.

Thoughts?

Shoutout to Earl Vaughn

Wanted to take the time to give a shoutout to Mr. Earl Vaughn who in the Fayetteville Observer announced his retirement today in his last session of picks. I've had a chance to meet Mr. Vaughn a time or two and he has more passion for high school football that probably anyone. The article said he had been working for the Fayetteville observer for over 40yrs. People in the Cumberland/Sampson/Duplin/Bladen and other surrounding counties have waited each and every Friday for "Earls Picks". Mr. Vaughn you will be missed and on behalf of all Dark Horse fans we wish you well and thank you for adding a little something to an already exciting time during the high school football season each and every year.

3 Rivers Preseason Preview

How do you guys think this year will play out in the 3 rivers? Going off last year and what I saw this summer, the league should be a tighter race.
1. Whiteville
2. Red Springs / St. Pauls
4. Fairmont
5. South Columbus
6. South Robeson
7. East Columbus
8. West Columbus

- Whiteville looked pretty strong this summer in the few games I saw with Kirk healthy.
- Red Springs returns some of the top guards in the conference and most of their best players from last year. I put St. Pauls in the same spot because this one may be a toss up. St. Pauls is returning a lot of size (Maybe the tallest team in the area), some talented guards and an experienced new HC.
- Fairmont is Fairmont. Theyre going to run, run, run, and they have the athletes to do it. The question mark will be the post.
- South Columbus had a young scrappy team last year that should have gotten better over the summer.
- South Robeson had some good young pieces last year on varsity and jv, but it will hurt to lose their stud to graduation.
- I am low balling EC just because of the talent or lack of I saw on jv. Coach Skip did a great job with them last year and I thought they were a better team than the start of the season. I hope I am wrong and coach skip uses this for locker room motivation.
- West Columbus always has athletes but the new coach is the question mark. Not sure what he will bring to the table, but it should be interesting.

East Montgomery @ Albemarle

Since no one wants to start a thread on this, suppose I will.

Albemarle Bull Puppies will come out the gate fired up, but can they maintain that energy? I hope so.

I know a lot of students come on these boards and read these post's, I'm not sure if any Albemarle kids do, but I know the coaches do. I just hope they had a good week at practice and we can switch up that direct snap wildcat and start playing some real football. But not only is that on the coach to have his team ready, it is also up to the players to learn and buy into the schema that the coach is trying to implement. We all know that most of those kids wouldn't be starters let alone on a varsity team besides maybe 1 or 2, but I hope those kids start turning those gears with this being the 4th game of the season.

I myself isn't looking for a win, I'm looking for competiveness. It's one thing to loose, and it's another thing to get your ass kicked, those are two different types of loses.

I believe East Montgomery will run the score up.
