Shelby just might be the best team in the state!

After watching the golden lions on Friday, it's clear to me that no team in 2a have a chance against these guys, and in my opinion they are the best team in the state of NC! the defense is unbelievable, fast and I mean really fast to the ball holding a 3a team to 35 yards! I don't think nobody will score over 21 points on them! QB need a little bit more time, but by the end of the season he will be leading the state in TD passes, and we have one of the best if not the best WR in the state! I know alot of 4a ppl will laugh at this, but I bet don't no 4a school head coach won't to line up in front of them golden lions

MAC week 2 picks.....

Well now we know what each team brings to the table so picks will be a little more easy this week. Let's hear them..

Roberson at East Henderson
Pisgah at Enka
Newton Conover at Asheville
Avery at McDowell
Mountain Heritage at Erwin
Shelby at Reynolds

My picks.....

Roberson 35 EH 7....Roberson snuck by a average NH team last week. East Henderson is really struggling so this should be a easy one for the Rams.

Pisgah 42 Enka 14...The Bears have yet another easy home game this week. That will change when the Cougars roll in to town soon.

Asheville 28 NC 21...Newton Conover destroyed Highland Tech 73-0 Friday but they are not playing a pushover this week. Asheville started slow but seemed to finish strong. I think they should win this one at home.

Madison 21 NB 14....Madison almost beat a decent West Henderson team Friday. I think they will get the w at home this week.

Shelby 35 ACR 21....Two great programs go head to head in this one. I think Reynolds is a good team but they will have their hands full with the defending champs this weekend.

McDowell 21 Avery 7...Neither team looks to be that good but I think McDowell will outlast the wildcats...

Erwin 42 MH 28....Erwin looked really good against a very good team this past Friday. Other than some blown assignment by their soph db the defense looked solid as well. Heritage is ranked #4 in the citizen times best of the west poll and deservedly so. They are coming off 3 years of undefeated jv teams and a 9-2 varsity team last year and return everybody. This will probably be their only loss this year till the playoffs.

Albemarle vs Concord

Who ya got!? lol.

Besides the game, from the video that @susancoleman posted, I see major potential in this team. Someone said that they seen a very good J.V. team and that's exactly what they are...which is a good thing. On their second possession, they executed damn near perfect, their youth/size/physicality started to show at the start of the second. These are areas that have no choice but to get better as long as Mason stays on top of'em. It wasn't like that dead end offense we saw last year where they couldn't get -5 yards if the other team jumped offsides lol!

If this current Albemarle team played all 11 J.V. games available, I say they would go a good 8-3 winning 2 or 3 competitive games. T-Ville just out manned and muscled them and that's the bottom line. Heck, the DB's I saw probably weighed only 119lbs...

Anyways. 70-0 Concord.

Yadkin Valley 1A Conference Predictions, Week #2

North Moore @ Union Pines, Union Pines 21-20
Concord @ Albemarle, Concord, 56-6
Eastern Randolph @ East Montgomery, East Montgomery 55-21
Chatham Central @ Hobbton, Hobbton 54-6
West Stanly @ West Montgomery, West Montgomery, 55-20
Sun Valley @ North Stanly, Sun Valley, 49-21
Union Academy @ Lake Norman Charter, Lake Norman Charter, 35-8
North Stokes @ South Davidson, North Stokes, 42-6

3A Union Pines squeaks past North Moore. Concord conquers Albemarle. East Montgomery runs past 2A Eastern Randolph. Hobbton handles Chatham Central. West Montgomery wallops 2A West Stanly. 3A Sun Valley stuns North Stanly. Lake Norman Charter defeats Union Academy. North Stokes stomps South Davidson.

8-1 last week (89%).

Thriller at Hoke/Britt

What a great game to watch. Hoke goes up with little over a minute left 20 to 13 then the Bucks defense intercepts Britt with just under 50 seconds remaining but during the next series the qb makes a mistake by going out of bounds while trying to kill time and saves Britt a timeout (which to me and everyone watching seems like they had 4 ) but they eventually get the ball back with 20 seconds left and make a miraculous catch 40 yards down field. Stop the clock at 5 seconds then try to connect on a slant but the Buck defense held (like they did several times last night when backed up) but the clocked stopped with just .05 seconds left to give Britt one more chance and they got in the end zone as time expired and then ran a conversion in to win the game. Was a back and forth battle but great job for Britt for never giving up and a great showing for the Bucks as they look much improved. Especially defensively. They have some good guys. As does Britt. Ready to see Britt against the Scots later on . 2 good defenses but the offensive edge definitely goes in Scotlands favor.

6 NFL 2016 Rookies from Forsyth & Davie County(CPC) try to make rosters

2 from West Forsyth(CPC Conference)

Parkland has DB Doug Middleton(App St) who I forgot about , my bad... Sammyk, I will edit my Title.

Rosman vs Brevard

For the first time in quite some time or maybe even ever, Rosman was OPEN for the first week of the season.....The same cannot be said for their first opponent this week as Brevard signaled their return to respectability last week with a convincing win on the road at Andrews(41-6) against a team that beat them in Brevard last season....

The Rosman/Brevard rivalry is really in its infancy as the two teams have only played 12 times since Rosman started a football program in 1959....Of course, back in those days Brevard was a 3A powerhouse around the state playing and winning State and Regional titles back in the day....Transylvania County back in those days had the lowest employment rate in the state of N.C. thanks to Ecusta, Dupont and American Thread....All those industries have long since left Transylvania County, and a lot of the Blue Collar kids left with them as a lot of families have since moved away which has dramatically affected the once 1,000+ Student body of the Bluedevils whose numbers are now reported to be hovering around the 800 mark, making Brevard a small 2A school, presently.....

Brevard won the first 9 games in this series , dating back to the first-ever meeting in the fall of 1975 when the Bluedevils throttled the Tigers 40-6, and again in 76'(49-7) before the teams took a 20yr break in the County battle which continued in 1997 with a 41-6 Brevard win over the eventual state 1A runnerups from Rosman as Jim Fox returned to face former Rosman Coach Dan Essenburg who had left the Tigers to return to Brevard, and Dan also had a very fine team that year that lost a hard fought game to Eastern Randolph in the playoffs, later that year, I think?....

Rosman played the Bluedevils off their feet in 1998, but came up a little short, losing 23-13, but later that season the Tigers shared the SMC title with Hendersonville and star RB Vincent Neclos before losing to Maiden in the 3rd round of the playoffs...It was also the first and last time that Rosman beat every current member of the SMC in the same season....

The two teams played again at the turn of the new Millineum with Brevard scoring 41pts in both wins and the Tigers only managing to score 6pts in 1999 to extend the losing streak to the Bluedevils to 6....

The next 3 games basically ended the series for a little while between the two teams as Brevard shutout the Tigers 49-0 in 2005 and 40-0 in 2006 to extend their winning streak over the Tigers to 8 games overall....

2007 marked the beginning of changes in this rivalry as Brevard blasted the Tigers 62-3 in Rosman in former Rosman Coach Brian Bailey's debut.....Brevard would later make a deep playoff run, losing at Lincolnton in the final 2 minutes on a long TD run by C.J.Wilson who broke a tackle, and raced 50+yds with the game winner.....The Bluedevils have not been back to that stage of the playoffs since that time, and have had their own struggles since then with 4 different Head Coaches since that season, counting current Coach Craig Pritchett....

After several seasons of despair by both teams since that 2007 season, both teams seem to finally be turning the corner back to respectability.....

Beginning in 2013, the series between Brevard and Rosman resumed in Brevard, and Rosman won for the first time ever that season as the Tigers rallied behind a strong Sophomore class led by Tanner Green and Gage Orr to beat the Bluedevils 40-27 to mark Rosman's first-ever Transylvania County title, and first win in Brevard against the Bluedevils...It was however not the first time Rosman had won a football game in Brevard as the Tigers played in Brevard until their own field was constructed, and ready for that first game against Bakersfield in 1968 which was a magical season for former Coach Bill Cathy who would later retire from Coaching football after that season...A season in which the Tigers advanced to the state 1A semifinals, losing to Boone Trail(26-20) in the mud in Brevard.. A game in which the Tigers led at the half....It would be the final "HOME" game for Rosman in Brevard as the Tigers have played in Tigertown at Silversteen Stadium since that time....Joseph Silversteen donated the land , and volunteers made a football field where there once was a swamp on one end, and a baseball field on the other end.....Bill Cathy always refused to call the home of the Tigers Silversteen Stadium, but rather chose to call it the Rosman Football Field.....

In 2014, Rosman beat the Bluedevils for the first time ever 28-14 in Rosman as both Green and Orr scored TDs ....Green suffered a knee sprain which hampered him the rest of the season, while Gage Orr went on to lead the SMC in rushing as a Junior....

Last year, Rosman extended their winning streak over the Bluedevils to 3 games, and did so in convincing fashion 42-7, but in the process, lost SR. QB Josh Rice for most of the regular season, which had a definite impact on the season as a whole, although the season did finish with a winning record for the first time in over 10 yrs.....

This year, Rosman is very Young after graduating a large and talented Senior Class last year.....On the other hand, Brevard returns Preseason WNCAC Preseason Player of the year QB Tanner Ellenberger along with as many as 18 other Seniors I've been told, so Brevard will definitely have the advantage as far as experience goes, and the Bluedevils also have the motivational factor of ending their 3-year losing streak to Rosman and giving Coach Craig Pritchett his first Transylvania County Championship.....

Emotions will likely be running higher than normal on friday night in the opener for the Tigers as legendary Coach Bill Cathy will have the Football Field named in his honor.....Coach as most know still lives in Rosman, and is still jogging into his late 80's and early 90's....Bill Cathy was Rosman's first Head Football Coach, a former town Mayor,School Principal, School Superintendent and School Board Member, so he's been a fixture in the Transylvania County school system since he first arrived from Bakersfield back in 1958......

When there's been any past discussion of Consolidation between Rosman and Brevard, Coach Cathy has always been against the idea, and his feelings are still the same to this day....Don't believe me?.....Ask him!......And ask him what color his blood is, and he will tell you he bleeds Orange....

Doubt he would ever read this forum, but I will certainly congratulate him when I see him....

After this friday, it will not be called the Rosman Football Field any longer, but instead will be rightly named for the man who has inspired generations of young people throughout Transylvania County, and continues to do so to this day...

So welcome Bluedevil fans to Silversteen Stadium and Coach Cathy Field....

As for the game, Brevard will be a heavy favorite this year to end the streak, and start one of their own, but I will be there rooting for those little ole' scrawny but scrappy Rosman Tigers nonetheless!

Roar Tigers Roar!

Believe in your children

As you guys know I am very outspoken when it comes to NM ,but this is something a little different this is for all the parents out there,so listen close. I consider myself a very hard parent on both of my boys ,but I tell both of them everyday how proud I am of them,I also tell them how to better them selfs, but over the years my children have told me issues they have and I always tell them to suck it up, and tell them that need to do better and work harder ,because that is the way I was taught. When I was coming up we were giving no compassion ,but I have changed some over the last few years and recently I have to begin to watch certain things that go on around my sons and I have come to learn that they are telling the TRUTH about stuff that happens to them. I know life is not fair and they have already learned this at there young ages of 16 and 9 and I guess that is good ,because I hope and pray that they decide to be better people than they have had to put up with in their lives,so I guess what I ask is parents believe your children, not all of them are bad and remember it is very hard for a child to do what he or she is supposed to do and never be rewarded or praised this is my last post on here so take it however you want.GO NM

Indy vs Scotland

They say it my be a long bus seat butt hurting haul back home for Indy even though they gona try to get things right. Smiley and Zamir alone may put a hurt'n on them. I may be wrong but I hope there's no bad relationship in the Indy family- the bleacher coaches(parents); they needs to quit ah-tweeting bouts that young coach....aint it the admins fault?....s'all I gota say. Due to all the drama presentation, Indy might as well drop it like it's hot.

Maybe it's the parents, maybe it's the admin, or the coach or how about this.....maybe it is the kids acting like kids, that are setting the seed for the parents to act foolish and raising sand and kicking rocks........Aint they suppose t bees acting like the parent and not like school age youngens.........and stuff.

Maybe the grown adult parents are complaining about the QB that just transfered...I dont know what the world bees ah-going over there.................HOT MESS

Indy will hotel back to the drawing board.....they say

Burns 31 Huss 26

We played a relatively clean game, a few penalties and no turnovers. Huss did a good job answering back to keep it a 1 score game but I felt Burns had it in control the whole way. Got to clean up the secondary some, their QB did a good job getting it to some big receivers in the 2nd half when he wasn't getting pressured. Mosteller and Burris were making plays all night in the backfield. Good win, and got a bigger test against a good CC team.
