Reidsville Simmons Power Ratings

Anyone have any explanation how Simmons has Reidsville rated so low?

According to Simmons, Reidsville will be big underdogs to High Point Andrews, Northern Guilford, and Northwest Guilford.

I would pretty much bet the farm that Reidsville will rip Andrews and Northern Guilford and give Northwest Guilford all they can handle.

Makes no sense to me.

Monroe?

Sorry to post here, but the baseball threads have been quiet for a while.

Where does Monroe HS play baseball at? I didn't see a baseball field on a Google Earth image, and I just looked at their Spring schedule and everything was on the road? Is that right? Or do they play at a park off campus somewhere?

Looked for a Monroe thread to post this in but I'm guessing they don't have many football posters on this site?

Clinton @ Smithfield-Selma Sept 1(Thurs)

After coming out strong Friday Dark Horses head to Joihnston County to take on Smithfield-Selma Spartans on a Thursday night......Not much discussion to be had on this topic I mean SS is not that good....For Clinton its a short week and should be a easy win but still take the opportunity to clean up the Lil miscues take care of business and come out injury free.....game should be over by halftime honestly.....plenty of time for younger guys to get some playing time and game experience GO HORSES!!!!!!!!!!

My prediction Clinton 62 Smithfield-Selma 8

Marlboro @ Scotland

Wow, how the times have changed in this rivalry. There was a day when the banter would be in full force by Monday and here we are Tuesday afternoon and nothing being said. Is Marlboro laying in the grass hoping to upset the Scots? Is Scotland looking at this game in any other way than simply the next one on the schedule? This is a time when we all miss Green Gremlins and his take on the contest. Lots of bragging rights as there are families that are connected to both schools, coworkers who stand alongside one another all year with a smile, except that one day. I truly expect the Scots to keep the ground game grinding and mixing in enough pass to keep the aggressive Dawg D honest. Scots keep the streak going and put the Dawgs back in the kennel for another year. Scots 35-14.

All state football picks

Am I understanding it correctly that the all state football team will have only one classification this year and they will no longer be a 1A 2A 3A 4A team? Who in the world came up with that jewel of an idea. Come on now , the 1a AND 2a GUYS DON'T HAVE A CHANCE EVEN IF THEY ARE REALLY REALLY GOOD. Those that pick look at 3 and 4 A guys and that's about it......One of the best tackles in North Carolina plays at Lexington High and should certainly get a lot of looks.......He is a senior this year and has interest from App. State , Elon and most all small schools . Harvard from the Ivy league as well as Cornell have called , so we know he is a smart kid....6 Ft 4in , 295 lbs. all conference and all county as a Jr. , led the county in Pancake blocks , loves to pull , great pass Blocker......All I'm saying is these kid deserve a look........as I am sure a lot of smaller schools have players that could be considered.......

Check your scores. 1 point per game, 3 points GOW.
5 points for exact score of both teams in regular games.
10 points for exact score of both teams in GOW.
I will post the season totals next.

Hough 31 Mooresville 7

Hough scored on a long drive on their first possession. Both teams traded punts the rest of the first half but the Mooresville defense spent much of that time on the field. And a 7-0 Hough lead grew to 21-0 quickly in the third. Mooresville did answer back to make it 21-7 but they were done. Hough took over from there and finished off a hapless Mooresville team that is in desperate need of a QB. The Blue Devil defense isnt half bad but it's awful hard to compete when the offense is putting up 4 turnovers and a multitude of 3 and outs. Mooresville travels to Hopewell next week in search of win number one on the season.
