2024 Reidsville Rams

With March Madness about to be underway, how about a little Ram Madness? Any news and updates does the 2024 season can be posted here.

With the likes of Kendre, Diontae, J9, Jones and Cobb returning, the Rams are poised for a repeat. We also have 4 of 5 OL coming back. We are also losing some valuable veterans at key positions. J9 should be starting QB with plenty of aforementioned talent at the skill positions. Defense should also be strong with a good returning core of guys.

Any news floating around about incoming freshmen and transfers? Reidsville is in a very beneficial situation with scouts everywhere coming to see the Rams!

Go Rams!

Turf

Multiple schools this yr are getting turf ! Western NC is becoming turf heavy

Starmount , Forbush, Wilkes Central, East Wilkes , West Wilkes , North Wilkes , East Surry , Surry Central and North Surry and Alexander Central

Looks like Elkin is only one in that area that isn’t getting turf and also Stokes co isn’t either but I’m sure that may come sooner or later

Western Foothills early thoughts

This is Conference that gets overlooked. This should be a fun Conference to follow in 2024. This in no order below.

1. Hickory 3A State Champions. They have alot returning in 2024 including their QB that started Varsity when he was a Freshmen

2. East Lincoln won the State Title 2022. They have alot returning in 2024.

3. Statesville has a lot returning and should be very competive in the Conference.

4. North Lincoln they are loaded with players returning.

5. West Iredell might have something to say about this in 2024. They have a few good skill players returning.

6. ST Stephens don't know much about what they will have in 2024

7. Fred T Foard they should end their long losing streak in 2024

8. North Iredell they do have a QB thats quick and very athletic.

Any other thoughts?

R-S Central New Football Coach

R-S Central Appoints New Head Football Coach (Press Release)

Rutherfordton, NC - R-S Central High School Principal Phil Rogers and Athletic Director Sam Hooper have named Mr. Jim Ryan as the new head football coach. Coach Ryan comes to R-S Central with a sound football coaching pedigree. Most recently, Coach Ryan served as an assistant at R-S Middle School from 2021 to the present.

Prior to his stint at R-S Middle, Coach Ryan served as the offensive coordinator at Hononegah High School in Rockton, IL from 2016 - 2020. Additionally, he excelled for a number of years coaching at both Belvidere High School and Belvidere North High School in Belvidere, IL. In fact, his coaching experience stretches back to his time serving as a football manager at Arizona State University.

In all, Coach Ryan brings 22 years of coaching experience to R-S Central. He believes that a good football program is rooted in consistency, tradition, and grit - each qualities he plans to promote. His resume boasts Coach of the Year honors, broken records, undefeated seasons, and most importantly, student athletes that found success in the classroom and on the football field.

Coach Ryan holds a Master of School Administration, from National Louis University, and a Bachelor of Science from Northern Illinois University. He is set to begin his new responsibilities, at R-S Central, later this spring. Coach Ryan is married to his wife, Julia. They have two children, Jake and Emma. The R-S Central faculty and staff look forward to partnering with Coach Ryan, his assistants, and the community as we move into a new phase of Hilltoppers football next season.

High School Football Championship Mentality

I hope many NC athletes lace up those cleats and hit the field this season for some great high school football.

Let me tell you a story about this Texas high school football Championships that I just watched. The stands were packed, the energy was high, and the teams were ready to battle it out on the field.

One thing I thought about as I watched it is that success is not about doing one thing perfectly, it's about finding the balance between different elements and excelling in all of them." As I watched this championships, one thing became crystal clear - running can get you there, but passing will keep you competitive enough to win. It's all about having a well-rounded offense and being adaptable to any situation. As the great Vince Lombardi once said, "The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have." Let's go out there and chase excellence together! We can all take this lesson beyond the field and apply it to our lives. Balance is key.

Our Kids

As a parent, it breaks my heart to see my child's dreams and hard work being controlled by archaic laws in North Carolina. How is it fair that parents are denied the right to decide if their child can participate in the NIL process? This is a blatant disregard for their future and autonomy. It's time for NC to catch up with the rest of the country and give our kids the opportunity they deserve.

Salisbury Football schedule

8/23 @ N. Davidson
8/30 vs Walkertown
9/6 @ East Rowan
9/13 vs Person
9/20 @ Thomasville
9/27 vs W. Davidson
10/4 @ S. Davidson
10/11 vs E. Davidson
10/18 vs Lexington
11/1 @ N. Rowan

Salisbury lost lot of key pieces but will return a good RB…Jamal Rule
With a weak schedule I think they have a chance of winning conference unless someone like Thomasville can pull out the win. Last year Salisbury only won 12-6 over Thomasville. So it will be an interesting season to see how this conference turns out.
