Bishop is well coached and disciplined. Even when they’re not as talented as other years, Robinson always has them playing above their potential, IMO.
The top 1A teams in the west are not a joke. There always seems to be 2 or 3 that can play with the top teams in the state regardless of class.

With the exception of the Cherokee Invitational (I don’t know the out of state teams), the only team I see on LKN’s schedule that would possibly beat Bishop is Mallard Creek.
I look forward to the upcoming playoffs!

Cherokee Headcoach Resigns

McCoy was the real MVP in the late 2000s, building a squad like a boss! Finishing above .500? That's like winning the Carolina Lottery twice! But for real, the competition be fierce, and with NCHSAA dropping transfer rules like they’re hot, it’s a whole new game. Can we talk about the Qualla Boundary, though? It’s like a secret cheat code that helped Cherokee flex their muscles! Local vibes and school policies are the hidden sauce for winning championships! And about that USAID cash, like should we help locals first? Prioritizing our teachers and vets over sending dough abroad. It’s a spicy debate, like a hot dog at a Carolina Panther's game! Let’s get our priorities straight.

OK Lake Norman Ladies won by 17. Story told. Game over.
NOPE!!!!
Bishop is flat out GOOD. This was a DOG Fight. No doubt in my mine Bishop would beat practically every team with maybe one or two exceptions that Lake Noman has played this year.

They are talented, well coached, and just goes after it.

In this game, maybe Lake Norman's talent is a little deeper going 10 players deep, they could stay at full effort/pressure a little longer because of that depth, and a little taller.

If Bishop is not one of the 2 or 3 top 1A teams in the State, OMG somebody else must be really really good.

PS: It was really nice to meet up with Vik-Val tonight. I am amazed at his knowledge of the various teams across the State.

Do you teach in NC?

Currently teachers between years 15-24 are locked in at a bit over $53,000 for that time frame. That's 10 years without a raise.
Yes, my entire career has been in North Carolina. By the time those rules were passed, I was already past that point in my career. If more money is an issue for young teachers they can drive a bus (1 hour per day is about $400 more per month), move to a district that pays a higher supplement, coach, tutor, or get their National Board Certification. I've done most all of those at some point when I needed a little extra.

The benefits are definitely not as good as they were when I started my career decades ago but I have many friends who have no insurance or retirement other than what they fund themselves.

I can only speak for myself...it's been a wonderful career! The relationships I've built with students, colleagues, and the community are worth more than money can buy. Getting to play a role in the lives of others and have all the time with my own family are parts of the job I would never trade.

I've never once complained about my pay and am grateful for the "other" benefits of my chosen profession!

Bishop McGuinness definitely a good solid team. Probably best most 4A teams. Someone told me that BM has a player committed to N.C. State. Is that so. I know they had some tall girls. It was good to meet REWhitley and friends.
BM actually pretty short team. Jernigan is committed to State and is by far tallest at 5’11. BM guards not big or physical, tough time getting ball to AJ against LKN pressure when they got tired. She had a quiet 22/10 without getting the ball much
