Good game at Alb. Alb 26 Hickory Ridge 20 at the half.
Hickory Ridge hasn’t had issues with breaking Albemarle’s press but is struggling with scoring. They also lack post play, especially for a 4A school. Jasmine Brown is eating them up inside. Like I’ve said before, she’s very underrated. She knows how to use her body and has good hands.

Albemarle at Cherokee in round 4 will be a great game. Winner vs Bishop for state championship at wake forest should be a great game too
Albemarle is looking good and Bishop has had a few good recent wins, but I don’t see anyone touching Cherokee within ten points in the west. And as usual, who comes out of the west wins the state.

Yeah I went to the game hoping Albemarle would lose keeping them at the 4 or 5 seed so Cherokee could have one more easy game. At least I will finally get to go watch a game at Cherokee i didn't go this year or last bc they r winning every home game by 50+ and knew they would ahead of time. That's too long of a drive to watch uncompetitive basketball

Lake Norman girls final regular season week will finish out with these 3 teams.
On the 11 vs South Iredell, on 13 vs Bishop McGuinness , on 14 @ Mooresville. I will attend the last 2 games. Looking forward to seeing the one against Bishop McGuinness.

Would be shocked if Thursday game within 30. Just depends on how many shots AJ gets up if they can keep it under that. Best result for BM is that they get to face the kind of pressure that Cherokee likes to run for possibly late in the playoff.

Believe it or not, on Senior Night at Lake Norman, South Iredell jumped on LN and at the 4:24 mark led 7 to 1. Lake Norman made two substitutions and ended the 1st qt leading 12 to 8.
Half time it was 43 to 12.
End of 3rd it was 71 to 25.
Not sure what you can say about a 62 point win after leading by just 4 at the end of 1 quarter of play.

McDowell girls clinched an outright conference title tonight winning at Erwin. There's a pretty good chance they win their last game and conference tournament to go into the playoffs undefeated. They have a fairly young team too. They will be in the mix for the next few years.

Was a great game. Was closer than score. Bishop was not intimidated but could not handle all the LN pressure. They ran out of gas.
Congrats to LKN. Would have loved to watch them play WS Christian or Cherokee.

Bishop McGuinness definitely a good solid team. Probably beat most 4A teams. Someone told me that BM has a player committed to N.C. State. Is that so. I know they had some tall girls. It was good to meet REWhitley and friends.

BM actually pretty short team. Jernigan is committed to State and is by far tallest at 5’11. BM guards not big or physical, tough time getting ball to AJ against LKN pressure when they got tired. She had a quiet 22/10 without getting the ball much

Come to winston Salem in a few weeks. Barring an Albemarle upset that matchup will happen at wake
Wear maroon and gold unless u want to stand out. Cherokee fans filled up almost entire lower level of stadium last year.
OK Lake Norman Ladies won by 17. Story told. Game over.

Bishop is flat out GOOD. This was a DOG Fight. No doubt in my mine Bishop would beat practically every team with maybe one or two exceptions that Lake Noman has played this year.
They are talented, well coached, and just goes after it.
In this game, maybe Lake Norman's talent is a little deeper going 10 players deep, they could stay at full effort/pressure a little longer because of that depth, and a little taller.
If Bishop is not one of the 2 or 3 top 1A teams in the State, OMG somebody else must be really really good.
PS: It was really nice to meet up with Vik-Val tonight. I am amazed at his knowledge of the various teams across the State.

Bishop is well coached and disciplined. Even when they’re not as talented as other years, Robinson always has them playing above their potential, IMO.

After watching S. Shehan play I'm stunned that she may not play D1 in the future. She's got the size and is an exceptional shooter with a really quick release. I wasn't able to be there but watched online where everything seems slower than in person and even online her quick release was apparent. She put up 25 and seemed like even more as she set the tone for the game. Really good player and a pleasure to watch. (It was a little frustrating to hear the student chanting "overrated" directed at Jernigan right before she scored a quick 9 points to bring Bishop to within 6 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Hopefully they'll watch her playing in the ACC the next 4 years)
The 2 teams that Cherokee lost to were Hebron Christian. HC is 25-1 and they also beat Lake Norman in a holiday tournament. And the other team that Cherokee lost to is Winston Salem Christian. WC has 2 players 6’4 and one 6’3. Cherokee is really good team. They be fun to watch when tournament time comes.
Yes agree I wanna see them and Bishop McGuinness in Winston Salem in the Regionals!!
Saw some highlights of her on YouTube she can definitely play in the likes of the ACC!!!
