I will say though, this is the best year for the East to win 3A in the last 4 years.

When all is said and done, all four teams in the west, as well as those in the East, they are all “kids”.
Each of our communities should, and do, support them.
This coming Friday night, according to the forecast, it is going to be really cold again.
One team will win, and one will lose.
I just hope the long drive home for our disappointed visitors is a safe one.

Lord I wish we were spoiled, an underfunded program, hardest conference in 2A in all of North Carolina, only had about 30 varsity guys before moving up some JV, but yeah we are spoiled🤣 East Duplin didn’t “eek” out a win they won it deservingly, and that year they won I can confidently say if you would’ve sent any of the 2A Du. Co. Teams to play the west the outcome would’ve been the same, an east champion. I don’t think any Wallace or East duplin poster would disagree with that statement. I won’t be going anywhere regardless of the outcome on Friday. These cats worked their tails off and in the case that they do lose they don’t deserve for the city to walk out on em, so I def won’t.

Folks making too much of this game. Sure Corvian is better than what a lot of people thought but after rewatching the ER game last week - ER fumbled 3 times, sure turnovers are apart of the game but they looked self inflicted to me… don’t expect MA to turn the ball over like that. I think MA will roll in this one. The big battle will come the following week against one of the mountain teams.

Geez Butler might have been one of the best four win teams I remember. Irmo, Weddington and East Forsyth with opportunities to some of those games and be competitive with the circumstances being what they were is impressive.

I think Butler was the best offense Weddington played all year so East will be a very capable offense. East has to mix up in their play calling. Butler thought they can just drop Lawerence back and have him pick Weddington apart and they got him hurt. Weddington isn’t a really explosive offense but very balanced so East has to be disciplined.

I think it will be a competitive game. I would be shocked if its lopsided.
