If West Charlotte was moved to 8a today how are they in 3a now?!?!

W Charlotte had around 1600 students during the last realignment.
They were near the 4a line then but the free lunches and Wachovia points is why some smaller schools moved up to 4a and bigger schools went 3a. If it was numbers alone, they may have been in 4a. ACR and Asheville were 2 of the the schools that got moved up from 3a to 4a because of the points and less free lunches.

Burns @ Monroe

I'm just not very optimistic about having to play Monroe this week. If we play this week the way we played against North Stanly we'll get beat by 40. Just an honest assessment.

I said at the first if the year that Burns was a 2nd round team this year. I still think that's what we are, I hope I'm wrong.

But no matter what happens this Friday, I'm telling you the next few years at Burns are gonna be fun....

Am I seeing this correctly? Reynolds/Dudley

Most of the transfers among the Guilford County school system is because of academic seeking endeavors. For instance , if one is interested in, lets say goat farming, then one would Google, " Where 'bouts in the Guilford County school system could i learn everything about goat farming. " With the average goat bringing in approximately a grand a day, these putrid smellin' creatures are a pain in the arse until one counts up how many pockets of currency the kudzu eatin' goats have provided. So I'd assume lots of the Greensboro athletes are transferring for the future of their families security blankets and for the future of Guilford County in general.
P.S. The following selection was performed and written by two Dudley graduates, brother and sister Charlie and Inez Fox.

Saw them perform this song at the Thomasville Armory in the sixties. Poor man’s Ike and Tina Turner (musically😊).

Corvian?

Who on earth is Corvian? Another charter school who "totally doesn't recruit"? I've been out of the loop this year dealing with Helene, then my wife getting diagnosed with cancer. Does Mitchell have a chance? Are these the North Charlotte All-Stars? Or have they just not played anyone with a pulse?
Hated to hear about your wife. We are continuing to pray for you all.

West Forsyth @ East Forsyth Round #2

West Forsyth believes they had East Beat at East 2 weeks ago and they are super hungry for this game. Those 3 costly turnovers in the 2nd half are still haunting them after a 35-21 lead. East defense has been exploited the last few weeks and seems to be their weakness. Just how many games can Tarheel QB recruit Bryce Baker bail out the Eagles?
You're just not a good source for football information out of the Triad. East Forsyth was exploited by Butler and West Forsyth struggled against a very average Cuthbertson. CPC best conference in the State???? Slow down Grasshopper! Grimsley definitely has a legitimate shot. The others, not so much.

Independence vs Mount Tabor

Seems to be another example of Charlotte/Meck Co. area football just being better overall than the Triad. Yes, I realize the seeding system is whacky and Tabor may have been seeded too high and Independence far too low. But this was just a flat out beat down. Seems like Grimsley may be the only team that can play with the Meck. Co. big boys. Even E. Forsyth had a squeaker last Friday.
Wish we could see Grimsley play both Indy and Hough. I know a Hough wants them after how the last few games went and Indy was a young team when they played Grimsley two seasons ago. I really believe they both could get them this year.

2A EAST 2ND ROUND

Looking at these games it’s possible ( I realize my odds) West Craven could play Ed, then NE, and WRH?? If that were to happen nobody on here could tell me nothing! I’d build a dang woodshed like that fool from Rocky Mount had and you’d have no choice but to ignore me!! 🤣🤣

I should have said we will play ED that much we know!

The Transfer Portal Problem

New Hanover is not open enrollment and has not been since 2011ish when the then principal Todd Finn requested that NHHS be changed from open enrollment to open choice - just like Hoggard, Ashley and Laney. The NHCS board approved this request. Frankly, I am surprised that you don’t know this Port. Do a little research before you post. Find out the difference between open enrollment and open choice. Your research will reveal that NHHS, Hoggard, Laney and Ashley are all open choice. None are open enrollment. If you want, I’ll be glad to meet you at the central office and we can get you educated.

It is true that NHHS has the Lyceum Academy. It is also true that Hoggard has the IB program. Students from out of district can apply to NHHS through the Lyceum Academy just like students from out of district can apply to Hoggard through the IB program. For the record, both the Lyceum Academy and the IB program produce stellar students, however, neither has had an impact on the success of NHHS or Hoggard football by the admission of out of district students. Further, neither program is an open enrollment opportunity. The open choice criteria still applies to all out of district applications for all high schools in the county.

Like Cat posted above, the reason the ADM numbers are lower for NHHS is that there is extreme opposition to re-districting. Every proposed re-districting plan that sends more than a small handful of Hoggard kids to NHHS is vehemently opposed by the well organized and vocal Hoggard crowd. Further impacting the NHHS ADM numbers is the fact that the NHCS has capped capacity at NHHS.

On a final note, you may want to do a little research on how many out of district players Hoggard had on their 2007 state championship team before throwing stones.

Thanks for the tutorial. You can call it what you want. What you just explained makes it even worse but you will see what you want to see. Over the years NH has had droves of athletes transferring in. NH has multiple state championships in baseball, 1 in football and 2 in basketball over the past 10 years or so and many of the starters on those teams were transfers. Maybe you should do some research on how many of those kids used the Lyceum program to get in then dropped out. If that program was so attractive then many more students would be utilizing it and NHs number wouldn’t be falling. Many people buy a house because of where their kids will go to school. You obviously do not see a problem just changing schools district lines and changing the lives of those families. You mocking those people because of their passion shows what lenses you see out of.
I know of dozens and dozens of kids trying to get into Hoggard only to be denied. The door is wide open on Market St and has been for years.
As for Hoggard 2007 team, I never said Hoggard doesn’t get some transfers. If you want to keep score on transfers I am happy to play that game.

It maybe next week but it won’t be this week.

Swe vs WRH Who Ya Got !!

Do you really think other coaches would do that??
Man the things I could tell you and I’m no coach but being close to our staff I hear a lot. Over the years of following high school ball I have learned that yes some coaches don’t like other coaches in their conferences and come playoff time they will help other coaches in the playoffs. In regular season in conference play it happens. Coaches make friends with other coaches just like we do here. Honestly it’s nothing to be surprised at. Bottom line the kids still have to make the plays on the field.
