Like I said I don't know the ins and outs but I thought with regions teams have the ability to set their own schedule essentially within the region.
Burns with the upset....
Monroe havent played any smash mouth fb teams yet...Burns D must step it up
Burns has only lost to teams in Cleveland County and those teams are still playing. Those teams will also be playing next week I think. Monroe didn't play West Charlotte and that to me would have been a bigger measuring stick. Forest Hills was going through some position changes and trying to figure things out but outside of that I am not sure Monroe has played anyone to the strength of Crest, KM and Shelby. I do think Burns has been battle tested more but we have to play better than we did last week. Penalties and Special teams are extremely important this week and both have hurt us in the past. I would love to see the offense throw some short routes to get the RB's out in space. We did that a little Friday. If Monroe stacks the box we have to be prepared to adjust. There is not one coach that does not want to keep playing so I know they will prepare. This could be a big upset and I am all for it. Let me also add that even though I was a little frustrated Friday about us making a few mistakes and letting that game get close, North Stanly does not quit. They are actually much better on defense than I thought. Both teams were laying the wood.
Strength of schedule in non conference could play a big role.
Don't have a solid take/guess for this game. But give me Burns. Monroe shouldn't be here in 2A and I've been a fan of Burns since I saw them play Salisbury at home in Covid playoffs vs Honeycutt.
Burns by 7
The good news for burbs is they have seen, Shelby, crest and kings mountain
True, but none of those teams had the superior athlete at quarterback that Monroe has. I looked that kid up. He’s an absolute burner, runs the 100 and 200 in track, and he has solid D1 football offers.
For Burns and CC football let’s hope Burns can go shock the world and pull the upset, causing another flop.
I see some saying Burns can do it and others thinking the other way.
You have won the chance to go to Mt Airy in about 2 weeks. Or maybe host Starmount.Bingo??
What’d I win?
Sorry embracing the whole “old man” thing…
Now if y’all will excuse me I have to go run some people off my lawn…
Eagles 🦅 have a nasty sophomore quarterback in the waiting who is gonna be a superstar. We’ve all seen glimpses of the kid but he’s having to wait his turn. Greene Central’s largest loss this season was 15 at the hands of SWE. I see Northeastern winning by 4 tds plus. Their rb Cobb is averaging just under 100 yards a game and their passing game isn’t to impressive. I just don’t see it being close but we all saw what N Lenoir did to Wrh so I guess anything’s possible. We’re also due for that wtf game 😂Point taken Bud. Was not aware that there was such a large difference in yardage. NE throws on average 23 times a game, GC around 12. Compared to other teams still on the eastern side of the bracket (WRH, ED, JK, Princeton) thats a lot.
Wow pat yourself on the back did this post make you feel better. Such dumb crap. Who cares if you can shoot a pistol. And you embarrass yourself bragging about your education. No one gives two cents about that.Being an ass is not excused because you are old and feeble. The allegiance of a poster does not make it a thread ABOUT his school. I'm confident that my education level is much higher than yours and I see well enough to shoot 100% on a 25 yard course with a pistol. Now, if you are finished being a key -board warrior, it's probably your bedtime
Wow that was a Big Deal Game. I have never seen JV QB Noah Furr, but I have seen and have enjoyed Oxendine. He has been to mane camps throughout the country to include the Dallas Cowboys stadium. Great kid with skills. I also know your HC. I wish you guys nothing but best wishes in this next round.Back in the 90s. It was 70-0 at the half. Third and fourth quarters were shortened to 5 minutes to end the game quick. Still holds the state record for most extra points in a game by Jay Sutton (13) former Appalachian State kicker.
I guess Oxendine will be back next year. He suffered a Lizfranc Injury of the foot. Honestly I prefer our current JV QB Noah Furr. He led the FH JV to the Rocky River Conference Championship this year knocking off Monroe in the process and going undefeated in the conference.
IiRC, that was Councell's junior year. As good as he was the heart and soul of that defense was Patrick Blaylock who ended up walking on at App St before earning a scholarship,Yes I believe that was his Senior year.

Is the Oxendine kid for FH going to be ok for next season?
If they use a plan such as Ga has then everyone is assigned a region. Then you are given a schedule which may include all or most of your region. Some regions are large enough to be subdivided. Teams can elect to play .a non-region schedule, but if they don't a region schedule then they are not eligible for playoffs in that sportNot picking on them, but who is going to travel to N Stokes to play them unless you are looking for a win. I am sure there are N. Stokes spread throughout the state. This is where conference comes into play.
And first statement coming soon.
91-6? What in the world? I have never seen such numbers on a scoreboard LOL. Is the Oxendine kid for FH going to be ok for next season?North Stanly is definitely and improved program from what they were many years ago. FH once beat them 91-6. FH led 27-0 at the half against North Stanly this year but they came out ready to play in the second half and we squeaked by 30-21. They definitely don't give up.
They were in the same conference for at least 60 years, 3A then 2A, and now 1A. I think MA & NS are the only ones that have stayed together through the whole 60 years.Unless it's a conference match, there is no reason for Mount Airy and North Stokes to play.
To have your best defender not playing defense, they did a good job filling his spot. I haven’t seen but two games but I think their defense is pretty good. They have speed and cover the run well. The linebackers do a great job filling his spot.No. Our QB was our best LB the last 2 years. He's committed to Western Carolina for baseball. He definitely wasn't the "planned" QB at the start of the year.

A true qb would help Burns tremendously but the play calling doesn’t help.
They have players to go win this game
Anybody that knows me knows I'm one of the biggest Burns fans there is. But I'm with you, I feel like this game could get ugly fast. I really hope I'm wrong.I'm telling yall, I think this could be a blowout but that doesn't make them favorites. Burns is down this year.
Qb now wasn’t the starter at the beginning of the season? It was not planned out this way before the season started but that’s another story.
That game still makes my heart bleed 💔 😢Won't be the first time. Yall beat them years ago cause they didn't have a kicker.
It was not planned out this way before the season started but that’s another story.Burns lack of a true quarterback was the difference maker. Burns has good players, but that’s the most critical position to be lacking in.
You probably knew some of the older guys like Homer Young and Will Wilburn (just died a few weeks ago). They were all excellent Troopers.
