How about this: Your coaches coach your kids up to play whoever is in front of them and help them to learn how to meet any obstacle in their way with hard work and strong character, and the adults in the position to make the world as fair of a place as they can go do that.

In the meantime, we're mostly just goons with keyboards on a message board so we can whine or cry or try to suggest a utopian world and it probably changes very little (except those of you around here who actually do have a say in things, you're more like goons with a title and I hope you do great things).

Congrats to Coach Ferguson and LHS boys at 6-0. I saw where there will be a few different teams at the Christmas Tournament this year at Ledford, but not sure who all is attending. Maybe there will be an interesting matchup.
Looks like Ledford girls are 6-0, as well with their top 4 scorers being sophomores.

I would say Ledford guys are still the favorite in the conference without much competition in the MPC. However, I’m still not sure they can make much noise come playoff time, but it’s still early.

Pender was a pretty good team a couple of years ago but couldn’t get past Tarboro.

The system, Craddock, past successes and the talent make for an uphill climb.

I would guess a few eastern teams would have done better against the west than they did against Tarboro - maybe not have won but been more competitive.

The Vikings dominance in the 1A East is more about geopolitics than it is anything. Tarboro specifically and Edgecombe County as a whole was decimated when Sprint moved Carolina Telephone and textiles moved out in the 90’s. Until that point, Tarboro was playing at 3A. So many good paying jobs left the area in such a short period of time. The only thing the folks in this town really had to take pride in was HS football. Even as the numbers declined, the passion for football in Tarboro never wavered. The Vikings are still better than 90-95% of 2A programs in the state. It’s part of the fabric of who we are.

So I’m sorry, Wilson Prep. Three years of collecting local talents and throwing them out there with their hair on fire isn’t going to make up for years of preparation, tradition and investment in a program that represents the heart and soul of a community.

Madelyn O’Hair filed complaints and lawsuits on prayer in school. She is the 1 person who got prayer taken out of school. She was an Atheist. Our society always listens to the 1% and rule on behalf of that small percentage and it makes no sense. That decision catapulted this country into the wrong direction and it shows. Also up until just the last few years more people in our country identified as Christian as compared to non Christian which made us a Christian nation until just recently. Now we are the minority. But the Bible does say that broad is the way to destruction and Narrow is the way to Heaven so it makes sense that the numbers will be less on the Christian side of things

You are the one that came out trying to belittle everyone else’s view and statements with your opening sentence. The fact is our laws were made from directly out of the Bible. Our founding fathers always opened in prayer and almost all of if not all of them quoted the Bible on a consistent basis. So call it whatever you want, call them whatever you want but that is all FACT!

Read my response again, it’s clear that he felt his calling was to pastor. I’m not smarter than the next guy and not naive to think that anything I post on an internet message board will change your mind, not my intent. But my guess is that you only converse with those who think like you and that can be very dangerous and divisive. The world is full of wonderful people who believe differently than you, love differently than you and so on. That’s the real problem, anyone who is different is “crap’ to you. Our country never was and never will be a Christian nation, we’re not a theocracy which is exactly what the founding fathers intended.

You obviously don’t read and listen thoroughly because I said he quit to pastor. He did his job as a teacher to all of his students. He is a history major and probably understands history a lot better than you and I. You aren’t near as smart as you think

North Davidson is 4-0 , with three of the four wins against winless East Davidson and winless West Davidson. The Black Knights other win was against the Thomasville Bulldogs.
Oak Grove is 3-0 , with two of their wins coming against winless Forbush. Could Oak Grove possibly be the " surprise " team in the Mid State this year ?
Central Davidson's record is 1-3, but supposedly they have the potential to compete for the title, but a dude that had been 'adranken told me such.
Asheboro is sittin' at 4-1 , with wins against 1-4 Providence Grove , Uwharrie Charter ( 1-A school ) , and two wins against their little brother, winless Southwestern Randolph. Asheboro's big man for the last three years, Stanback, is on Alabama State's roster, but it appears he hasn't seen the court this year. Asheboro lost to 2-A Randleman tonight, but their next two games are against a winless Southern Alamance squad.
Montgomery Central , bless their hearts, is winless and probably won't win four or five games, if that.. If they can't compete in this conference, they're up Shat Creek, sans paddle.

P.S.S. Greensboro Smith beat Winston-Salem Atkins tonight, 98-19......
