This may be just as big of a crowd as last Friday at Hickory. Watching Football Friday Night replay I saw an empty seat here and there because it was butt cold and holiday but since we’re out of that and North on a historic run with curious fans that may be around with no kids playing BBall this could be interesting gate sale wise.

I was wrong bout the crowd size at NL Ashbrook game, walked right in and found some good spots were I usually sit and folks I don’t show up to North games unless it’s an even or better match school with more on the line and if there’s nothing big going on at a church somewere cause God comes first. Usually best time to get App State tickets falling on a holiday stretch.

Well I am one Mt Arrogant Fan that is not worried about any west team right now, I am concentrating on the game at hand, THIS Friday night.
And making some great chicken stew for our Friday night tailgating.

And all of us Arrogant Mt Airy fans have said over and over, we invite our visitors to come join us. We only ask if you are bring 10 or more to eat with us, please lets us know so we can put a little more water/milk in the pot. Do not want anyone going into the game hungry.

TN does it by regions 1 thru 4 in the East. 5 thru 8 in the West. Top 4 in the conference make the playoffs. Region 1 and 2 battle it out to meet 3 and 4 to get to the state championship game. In the West it’s region 5 and region 6 then region 7 and region 8 play each other. Conference champ play the 4 place team in other region. 2nd place plays the 3rd place. Only bad thing about the way they do it some conferences only have 4 teams. So you could go 0-10 and still make the playoffs while some conferences have more teams with a better record as a 5th place team.

Not to defend the parent at all because they were completely wrong. But the football post game has become a spectacle in itself. How many times this weekend did we see teams fighting post game with this flag planting stuff? Or coaches fighting? Fans fighting? So this parent attacking a coach is not some isolated event. Football is very emotional especially post season as many are playing their last games and many see football as their ticket to a better life. NO other sport even comes close to the emotional impact football has on players, coaches, fans, and parents. So we have to better prepare for this stuff emotionally.

-To me this is on the school officials. You were fully aware you were playing an playoff game on the road and could possibly lose. You send an officer or security to the coaching staff and officials prior to the final play to ensure both staffs and officials leave the field safely. Also set the expectations with parents/players that we don't want to lose but if we do lose with grace and humility. Attacking a coach is unacceptable and the person should be arrested. Parents have to understand that coaches hurt too very badly after these loses. They are people too, but they cant just punch every kid, asst coach or player that made a mistake or made them mad. So parents must understand that too.

-The parents trying to protect their player and build them up did more harm in attacking a coach than they can even imagine. Now your child is identified as a problem child with problem parents. This will stick with them. NO coach wants them on their team. Give me the supportive quiet parent every day. Everyone use a 24 hour cool down period after games. No communication with parents and no communication with coaches until 24 hours after the game. This helps put things in perspective. Parents never communicate with a coach after an emotional game or loss. NEVER.

I said about the LN Men's team that their was a clear starting 5 but had a really good 6, 7, and 8 that would only get better with playing time.
For the ladies, with a few exceptions, I believe the best team the LN Lady starters will face is the LN second team! LN picked up 2 transfers that are really good and have a freshman who's potential is really high.

There is definitely some great teams in the tournament. I hope NC teams do well!

I was told last night that West Rowan lost 9 players from last year's team. Most possessions WR did not even get a shot off due to the ball being stolen away, passes intercepted, etc.

With a little exception, but very little, LN starters played the 1st and 3rd quarters. Score in these two quarters was 60 to 13, if I added correctly. The defense for LN is what starts everything for them. And run, run, run they can and do.

And while their is a clear starting 5, the fall off is not that great with numbers 6, 7 and 8. And they are only going to get better as these 3 get more and more playing time. They are a fun team to watch.

So what does that have to do with Monroe? I have nothing against Hispanics they just don't play football and basketball at Monroe. I wish more would come out and play. I think Monroe has 3 on the football team.

Anybody else notice how just about every team we play has multiple players down throughout the game and we hardly ever have anyone that needs help? Either we are in much better shape than all the teams we have played or we are striking harder, think it’s both🤔

It’s pretty easy to do it when you can play you’re bench throughout the regular season and still go 10-0🌚 but no one is saying to the contrary about that and regardless this isn’t the past 7 years this is this year. NE has a rich history… of losing in the most important game.

They were in an accident from what I’ve heard 2 are fine just a little banged up and the third did get it pretty rough but he should be fine with time. Prayers to them.

There is a opportunity to put NC on the map nationally if they somehow pull off that win. But realistically they just need to be competitive and continue to gain continuity for the playoff run. Actually as I think about it this is a great prep for the WSC game in January.
