I agree, I was actually leaning Wrh until last night. A friend of mine and big time ED guy messaged me up on fb. I gave him a call and we talked for a long time last night. He told me some really good stuff about Battle Holley. It’s such a small world because this is someone who I met about 3 yrs ago here in EC at the pro pool event our family hosted each year. He was wearing an ED shirt and came up here with a kid from Richlands who played in our event. This is going to be one helluva a game and I hope our game gets moved up again so I can attend this one.

This was called a first down, watch the chain gang.

To be clear, ED won the game, I wish them well, these were just examples of what wiz may have meant about home cooking.
Watch the video replay though NFHS view is sometime limited, many cell phone examples
Simply playing devils advocate here........

The still shot of the disputed catch does not show the ball on the ground IMO. It appears the ball is on the leg of the receiver. How does anyone know the player didn't pin the ball on his leg? How does anyone know if the ball hit the ground? I guess some are arguing that they "heard" the ball hit the ground. If so, I guess I need to get a miracle ear too.

The 4th down play video does appear to show ED being stopped short. To be fair, I thought the runner was short of the line to gain also. What I find interesting in this one is the official on the far side. He appears to run in and is spotting the ball on or somewhere close to the 45. The official on the Clinton side is marking the ball around the 46 which is closer to where the ball carrier was stopped IMO. Looks like the white hat left the ball closer to the 45. My question is why was there no measurement called for before the chains were moved? Where was the ball actually spotted for the next play? I don't see why some are blaming the chain guy. The guy changing the down was already in the process of going back to 1 from 4. Was this at an officials direction? Had the white hat already signaled ED first down? Maybe a moot point because that was going to be changed regardless. I cant even recall if there was a measurement.

Now, is anyone certain Clinton will score had they gained possession? How do we know the next play isn't a fumble? Someone mentioned the chain breaking again. Boy I tell you, that ED crowd is a crafty bunch if they purposely set that up. I mean we are talking CIA stuff there. Clinton crowd is crafty too. Wizard says all this is backed up by "several personal cell phone recordings". Man I tell you, those Dark Horse fans have got a gift to have their cell phones pointed directly at questionable calls and able to get still shots of questionable plays throughout the game.

Maybe there are some on here old enough to remember the Raiders and their belief that the NFL was always against them. The Immaculate Reception. Al Davis blaming the Steelers on purposely tearing the tarp overnight causing the field to freeze over which made it difficult for the Raider receivers to run their routes in the AFC Championship game. The Tom Brady tuck rule. Conspiracies all over the place when things didn't go their way. This sounds like that to me.

Maybe I will ante up the cost to get NFHS so I can refresh my memory on what actually happened during the game. Im sure Clinton fans will take pleasure when/if ED loses either this week or later in the playoffs and will come on here and keep beating this to death. I mean this is the same bunch who claims the Duplin County schools were able to persuade the NCHSAA to keep Clinton out of the conference at realignment. Little ole Duplin County. A county (not city) school system with that much pull. A 2-A conference mind you. Good stuff.

It’s a damn still shot ,what can you tell from a still shot? Anyone that was there could slearly saw it. The video shows the bounce clearly. This was not a closed call.

Sports robe you actually don’t know anything you’re talking about. Everybody’s not stupid. Cell phone video? This is 2021 and in a crowd of people there’s not much that’s not recorded, that being said each team has a video and NFHS has a video with ED broadcasters (they will convince you it’s a catch, it’s a first down . The chain break, who said it was intentional? But it happened so how accurate was that. Someone said the official never took his hand off the ball so okay, but the chain broke! Look there were more than 2 game changing calls against Clinton. I don’t know what game you’re watching.. I’m not going to waste time with you Anymire it’s quite apparent you’re a hater and you took it to a personal level. No credibility at all
You say you’re playing the devils advocate, no you’re very biased and throwing just as many personal insults as any poster on these boards but tries playing devils advocate, I believe there’s a better word- HYPOCRITE!
As for conference realignment that’s what happened, you, they can deny it but that’s how it came down. They didn’t draw out if the hat. There was no decision made without input. s I said folks overt in this little city school system you describe, aren’t stupid, we know the deal.

@Sportscribe I'm not going to quote all that but you mentioned before they moved the chains. You need to watch again. The first down line would be the 45. They were stopped clearly on the 46. The chain crew moved the chains back to the 46. They moved it back a yard. But the ref on the chain side of the field was already calling it a first down when it was a yard short. I'd be upset too.
Ottis it was a key play at a key time in the game

Wiz I asked for proof of your accusations and you provided none. Other folks provided a poor quality video that could be viewed any way the viewer wanted. Then a snapshot that doesn't prove anything either. It shows a loose ball, it doesn't show what happened. It clearly shows the runners KNEE IS DOWN. Therefore, the knee could have been down before the ball came out or not, the pic doesn't show definitive evidence either way. Heck you can't even prove that snapshot came from the game in question😳
Wiz talks out of both sides of his mouth. When Clinton squeaked out a win over Hertford Wiz said there's no place the Horses had rather play than Beulaville. He said the horses have had much success there. But..........once the horses fall it's all because of the refs home cooking. So which is it, the horses like playing there or home cooking is common place which Wiz said? Can't have it both ways Wiz. You thought the horses were going to stroll in and knock off ED and face Wrh. Sorry bud!!!!
I believe ED beat the horses by 2 touchdowns and a field goal. Therefore, given the benefit of ANY/ALL doubt, give back 2 tds and you still LOST. And before we hear any loss of momentum bs let's just nip that in the bud as well. ED scored a field goal to go up to 24 and the horses came back with a td to make it 24-22, right???? From that point on the horses had time but were shutdown and never scored again while ED kept moving. So all in all, the best team won hands down and it's time to move forward. If Clinton was So Good they wouldn't have been playing catch up all game.
I guess refs don't ever call anything wrong in darkhorse land. Heck they make mistakes in the NFL for goodness sakes. With all of this hoopla and nonsense that's been created, Wrh will be able to come in Friday and do anything they want because the refs will now be to scared to throw a flag. Round 3 is here and now and the horses can play basketball, WIZ WE DON'T WANT YOU BACK AT ED, take your toys and go home!!

As far as going home, I’ll go where I want. I never have any need to go to Beulaville. Like I really have no interest in the ED/WRH game, if I go to a game I may go to HCA state championship game, but if ED wins and Northesstern match up Thanksgiving Friday I may go as I want to see Northesstern, I haven’t seen them in 2 years and I want to see my friends daagoob, Otis, possibly some of the WRH posters I’ve grown to rival but respect over the years. That being said it has no bearing on who I think wins this weeks game, I’d say toss up, I think CalOrep favored WRH on a neutral field, but this isn’t neutral so I think it’s about even
Glad you got it all figured out.The game video doesn’t show that Oh and by the way this comes from you own people and what I’ve also observed following games at ED, law enforcement escorts for the officials after the game. I heave it’s very commonplace. In all my years of following games everywhere dogpoud, schools, I’ve never seen the necessity for that. Great image

Goob. Go to ED. NE is playing Washington. Going to be a blowout. If it isn't then you don't want to be there anyway!! 🤣🤣 I may see you there.

I’m staying in EC, I want to see the Duke running back commit. The Washington coach said he was the top player in the state last Friday. The following Friday I’ll go to East Duplin. I’m going to hook up with my buddy Brad from down there. Really looking forward to going there.

It’s all moot. We lost ED won, moving on.

None of the those bad calls come anywhere close to what happened to us against Bunn in playoffs years ago. Awful, just awful. Good luck to both teams Friday.
04, wasn’t as bad as the Bunn call adding time to a expired clock on 2015, but you had to be their, it was almost as bad . These were game changing calls that had a cumulative effect. Still it’s over and time to move on
I was prepared to move on but then I see sportscribe trying to rewrite history

I think they will open gates at 530. Don't know how many. Wizard was right about the 97 ED/Clinton game is the biggest crowd I have ever seen at East Duplin. Supposed to of been 5 thousand that night. Think this could be that big anyway
That 97 game was the largest crowd at a game played at a high school site I’ve ever seen The crowd, everyone was in place by 6pm keeping warn because the temperature was in the 30’s

I would stick with your first pick

The facts are. Both teams are equally good! Either one could win. With both being so close. It is hard to beat one two times in a season. That’s why most think WRH has a slight edge. Had thing been different in regular season. ED would have the edge. In a game like this it’s about motivation and intensity for the players.

We beat our rival Edenton twice this year. Actually we beat them by a larger margin the second time around

I have lost credibility? This coming from the same poster who posted very early in this thread, "This will be my only post about the game. Go Bulldogs" Only to post every 30 minutes afterwards? From the same poster who also insinuated that the head official was having a "homecoming" with people in front of the ticket booth only to later backtrack on that?

I have no reason to be biased. I admitted it was a bad spot on the play in question. I simply pointed out at the official on the far side running in on the 45 yard line. I could not see the white hat due to the camera. Two sides to every story. Again, playing devils advocate is all. Personal attacks? OK, I said you had boorish behavior. My apologies. You have very childish behavior. Na nanee boo boo Im gonna ignore you!! Again, I was at the game, on the Clinton side and I did not see many or even a few people with cell phones out recording the game. The still shot of the ball "hitting the ground" I presume was taken by a writer for the Clinton hometown paper who happened to take the photo. I need a definitive photo showing the ball you know..on the ground. Not someone "hearing it hit the ground" from 30 feet away. Again no instant replay in high school football. Mistakes are going to happen. Most coaches tell their kids, "That plays over, move on to the next one. Buckle up and make a stop." Did the officials conspire and give ED 39 points? A 60 yard TD run? A 34 yard FG? Did the officials cause a Clinton shank punt and a Clinton TO that gave ED a short field that they took advantage of to score the first 14 points of the game?

Clinton has a rich tradition no doubt. A tradition many would be envious of. To see the amount of excuses and blame that has been spewed all over these boards over the past three days could be a testament of how much things have changed. You like to boast about three straight ECC titles. The one in 2018 was shared with ED and WRH,(CHS lost in 2nd round) 2019 OK won out right (CHS lost in eastern final), and 2020 was in an abbreviated season (CHS lost in first round). This year Clinton finished 2nd in a weaker league than the ECC and lost in the 2nd round to the ECC regular season champion by 17 points. Yet, you continue to twist the narrative that Clinton was "voted" out because of their athletic prowess. Any idea who won the Wells Fargo cup for the ECC the last few years? Hint, it wasn't Clinton. No Duplin County schools wanted to travel for other sports on a week night to Robeson and Bladen counties. Clinton and Midway were going to be grouped with those schools no matter what. Please stop making yourself look foolish. The county schools did not mind being in a league with Clinton but did not want to travel to Red Springs and St Paul or the Bladen County schools for sports that would take place on a night besides Friday.

In closing, and I do apologize to the fine folks from Wallace-Rose Hill and East Duplin for continuing to hijack this thread, I sincerely hope you can do as other Clinton posters have done. Congratulate ED on the victory with whatever reservation you might have and just....move on.

Once again you continue the coverup narrative. Again I say the video doesn’t lie yet you continue to coverup the officials numerous mistakes. I’m not going to argue anymore when eyes can track the errors in video . As for the white hat homecoming, yes I brought that up and explained it myself He should have no business interacting with anyone away from the field of play. giving a look of impropriety) concentrating on only the game itself. I was not the only one frustrated with his lack of concentration at times and making serious game mistakes..
Listen you don’t have to recite the history of the ECC, I know every detail of the history of ECC play however far you want to go back. Weaker conference, matter of opinion really, 2 really good team in both conferences . As for getting kicked out of the conference it happened. I never expected Duplin Ciunty County schools to go with Clinton. Listen over the years Clinton has played in conferences with conference games from Roland South of the Border to Croatan so don’t talk about travel. Clinton wanted to stay in the ECC particularly with SWO getting back in for the old ECC, but they got voted out, you say not, you don’t know. Clinton won the ECC the last 3 years they were in it
Look foolish, a matter of opinion, a lot of posters that have seen the game video agree with me
But I don’t really care what you think, I’m just arguing with a someone (I had a better word) that thinks he knows everything and doesn’t. I or anyone else have the right to complain about bad officiating. Since you think you know me so well since NCHometeam show me in my many thousands of posts (which you apparent have never liked)where I have complained about officiating before???? You’re not going to find it. Oh I’ll say things that may be outlandish but. I am not one to complain very much, never had much to complain about, it’s a good life, but but it’s all in the eyes of the reader/listener. Sure I said I wasn’t going to post any more, I was angry, still am about this but I’ve really moved but you are the poster who has instigated me about this. I have made many post about many other games unrelated to this, but this about you. You know what I think, I believe you would argue with a stop sight like me actually sometimes so I tell you what I AM GOING TO DO, I’m going to agree to disagree with you, walk away from you and understand after the personal insults I hope I never meet you at a game

Both will be equally motivated. It'll come down to execution and game plan. WRH's defense will have to play better than first time and I think we will. Everyone round here knows ED can win this game. ED better hope they can keep our possessions under six again. I got my Dogs 35-24

Get a room, fellas. Y’all thirsty.

Before the first ED/Wallace game a lot of you Wallace guys were saying Wallace by at least 2 touchdowns. There was some even saying won't be close Wallace easy. I don't see that this time. You Wallace boys is nervous!!!! 🤣🤣

@Sportscribe I made a post on the Hertford county game thread pregame about #24 Jakwon Wilson’s usage been pounding the table for weeks about giving him more opportunities he was a game changer big play potential anytime he touched the ball…..on that 4th down stop late in the game we ran back to back QB draws/powers #24 deserved atleast one of those carries……..he did have a pretty significant injury in the spring that kept him out the whole spring season after 2-3 games not sure any lingering effects(health wise) playoffs big time game you live and die with the ball in your best players hands not saying Blake Smith wasnt one of our best seen him get those tough yards like that many times before but Wilson deserved a shot aswell.
Watching the game I agree 100%. I thought that cost Clinton big time and was a pivotal point in the game. Let you stud eat. Don’t take it out of his hands.

East Duplin is moving all the bleachers from baseball softball track and whatever else to the football field to try and get as much seating as possible. I know some where talking about when to get there.

WRH 30 ED 24. The dogs defense Will be playing a well discipline ED offense thats all about ball control. You know whats coming can you stop me attitude. The dogs D will be hyped up with high expectations for this game. They will need to tighten up that chin strap and say. We’re ready! The Dogs has to limit ED to 42 or less snaps. Make them punt. As for the Bulldog O.
# 1,5,6,9 and the O line. Enough said.

Wrh will be playing in NE........ they walk the dog on ED. Roberts will run wild on NE
Anxious to see how the Pam Pack matches up with NE …they scored a respectable 36 in a loss to Northern Nash….imma overlook that West Craven loss….Otis had ‘em so fired up about the missed game in the spring!😁

I just don't see any way Washington can slow NE down. All you have to do is contain the Washington rb and they will start throwing screens to him. They had nothing else when we played. I'd almost be willing to bet there is a running clock by halftime. Greene Central almost beat Cummings didn't they??
