The Mighty Red Raiders at Shelby

Congrats Shelby for a well deserved victory. The lack of pressure we were able to put on Bess was the difference in the game. Very impressed with Bess. The kid is accurate with his throws and stayed calm the few times we got heat on him.
I am also proud of my Raiders. We don't always past the eye test but you know when we show up we will be a hand full. The game was closer than the final score. We ran our offense well keeping it close until the last few minutes when 27-25 deficit quickly became 41-25.

Wham enjoy your success but just like the last 60 years of Huss football you will come away empty handed. Someday let's gather around Hunter Huss and talk about the Huskies football historical awards. That should not take too much of your time.

Sp Qb does great job, kids a baller, full back not big, but runs with heart, Grier kids a player, can't belive they run him in and out with plays, also dont involve him more on offense.
On D, right off, same as I thought at East, No pass rush, and the sec not that good on coverage.
Yall gave Bess way to long back there, but thank u, cause I think his confidence is going way up.
I just wish Bess would tuck it and run some,
Shelby has improved so much.
Dont be surprised if NCHSA dont try to put us together early again

Three on D that made the difference for us imo was Key and Mitchell playing in the A gaps and Dorian shutting down Grier. Key and Mitchell did some shin busting of their own on the SP fb and Grier was a non factor in the passing game.

A good game, hard fought by both teams. Congratulations to Shelby, they showed they were the better team last night and really exposed our pass defense. Our line never put any pressure on the QB, giving him all night to get his receivers downfield. And the backfield was clueless all night, allowing Shelby to constantly get behind them for wide open receptions. I thought the SP offense played fairly well and kept us in the game. But with obvious flaws in the pass defense, kicking game and kick off coverage, the expected rematch in a few weeks will be a tough road. As usual, Shelby has a heck of team that goes for the throat until the very end. Their low ratings in the poll are a joke and will surprise a lot of teams in the 2A playoffs. Hopefully SP can make some improvements and show Shelby next time that we are playoff worthy as well.

We were out coached, pretty plain and simple. Grier can't be a factor if he's not thrown the ball. Baffles me weekly...... We wait until it's 3rd and Grier and wonder why hes blanketed.

Best athlete on the field and is not really used in creative ways imo. I could see Huss getting in his ear over the summer.

Dorian stop playing press coverage on Grier, was the biggest adjustment we made, not sure if we did it cause Dorian was playing hurt

Triple option is a pretty thing to watch though, but agree if u dont have a backup of more passing, a good D stopping the run is going finish you

live by the triple option, die by the triple option...the latter eventually happens.

All too familiar for us. Will be the same result for Hibriten over a long tenure if they are not able to develop a meaningful passing game. There will be years when the run will be enough but more seldom than not it won't get it done. See SP's recent (1) loss seasons. The aggravating part for SP is they have a decent pass game but refuse to utilize it until its obvious they are going to throw the ball. Shelby had (10) men in the box last night with #4 literally just sitting back and waiting to pick the gap on the run and clogging it. No safety over top, single coverage outside. Inside slant and hitches were there all night. No changing the pace with high percentage throws to build confidence and spread the defenders out. Veer, Veer, over the top incomplete.

If he wants to play ball at Lenoir Rhyne or Limestone, stay at South Point. If he wants to play for a power 5 conference, move to Huss or Crest.

SP needs to lose this one. It's hard to win 12 in a row. Would love to kick Hibriten to the curb in the second round
Haha good luck there! Shelby looks weak! Hibriten will stomp Shelby this year! Your qb is scared. I watched him hold the ball 5 to 7 seconds before throwing. He will be looking out his ear hole if he tries that against us! You probably gonna play Pisgah and lose. They gonna get #1 seed

That's a South Point poster saying SP would love to kick Hibriten to the curb... FYI. You probably want to trash talk them first, since your chances are higher to see them first.

Next year is Shelby king again. I believe this will be another Hibriten year. I could be wrong. We shall all find out. We added a passing game which opens up the run. We haven't played anyone yet and nor did we last year. We know how that turned out :)!! Champs

I did have the opportunity to meet quite a few Shelby fans! We had a blast and of course talked so crap. We figured we would see each other again in a few weeks and go grab a bite before the game. Once the game starts then we will be enemies, haha. That is if both make it that far. Anything could happen

That game last yr could have easy went either way, and to say 25 wore us out?
PLEASE stop the madness.
Aready heard Hibriten dbs are suspect.
Let's see what plays out and if we play before starting the crap talk

That’s my memory as well, sbf1. Has Hibriten been able to grow a cb over 5’ 4” this decade?

Hitman that is Cleveland County thinking. If Gaston County kids jump from school to school SP would never lose getting the best kids in the county.
Imagine this problem created by kids jumping from school to school in Cleveland County. If 5 year Class Reunions were held on the same date the athletes wouldn't know which one to attend.

Congrats to Shelby on winning the conference. They have improved a lot since early season.Friday night was hard fought by both teams. Shelby coaches kept SP defense guessing all night long. Looked liked both teams will be healthy going into the playoffs. Good luck to Shelby the rest of the season....Hopefully see you in a few weeks. Congratulating Shelby, but still RidiculouslyRED> Go BIG RED>>>
