South Fork 2A Week 10

William's 10 run. North 43-0 at end of three. Only the second time I've seen them this year, but the Knights are the most disciplined and businesslike team I've seen. Coach Bazzle has begun something special that will last years to come.

Maiden scores. Goes for 2 and East stops us.

Maiden recovers onside kick. 26-25 East. 23 seconds left after a sack.

East has an excellent pass rush and has blitzed all night.

7 yd scramble on a botched snap. Field goal team is out. 2.6 seconds left. Ball on the 8 yd line, right hash

Field goal good!!!! 28-26 Maiden. FINAL.

Hard fought game. East has an excellent football team.

Some how, some way, the young ‘Uns find a way to win this game! BOOM! Devils! Baby!

West won 27-17. Bandys played tough. We actually adjusted at the half this week and pulled it out. Bandys probably had 20 yards in penalties. 4-5 unsportsmanlike conduct/personal fouls and one ejected in second quarter for throwing a punch. I heard they were dirty but it caught up with em tonight but they did put up a good fight. Congrats to North Lincoln on the conference championship.

NL opened the flood gates of mercy after scoring on their first two possessions of the 2nd half and going up 43-0. Newton-Conover finally scored in the 4th quarter with their starters still in the game against the NL subs.

Linkman, I had to work, Friday night, but I got to tune in from time to time. Sounded like you guys were enjoying yourselves.

But no Bandys probably had 100 yards in penalties. 200 was a bit of exaggeration sorry.

Maiden played tough to the end and never gave up hope, congrats to them and on to the next week

I am a Red Devil fan but even I expected a blowout from North....I believe the next couple weeks will be good games and could even produce a 3 way tie for 2nd place....as long as Newton stays with the 3-4 defense Maiden and East can have field days up the middle...if Shelby goes small, could be Norths year because I don't see Hibriten or Burns matching up with them...

Obviously, I haven't seen NL play at all this year? What makes them good? What offense do they run? Do they run, throw, good mixture?

Controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball! North Lincoln has excellent, determined lineman and they are big for 2a.

Complement that with a stable full of downhill runners and well rehearsed misdirection plays. I saw some of the prettiest, perfectly timed, aggressively leading the runner pitches, to the outside.....enabling the mules to run at top speed into the fray! The offensive unit is one and they bring it! Brother!

I’ll stop there for now! .... since I’m feeling sick bragging on North. LMAO!
They will represent the South Fork well in the playoffs!

I watched North game last night! Run mostly out of the flex bone style bazzle is known for ! Good senior leadership but I disagree with Msc above about being big . They have price who is a monster and that big and tall safety but I thought they looked small over all . Got some speed but not enough for the Burns and Shelby teams this year .defensively they would be overmatched in my opinion .

Shelby and Burns would/will be much to physical for them overall . They wouldn’t stop our passing game nor the Burns running game behind Pryor ... they are good , bordering on dang good but if I am being honest and zero disrespect intended , I don’t see them beating Shelby or Burns (can’t speak on the panthers as I haven’t seen them) .... then again I’ve been wrong before ;) and they could throat punch us out on the right night ! Never know with teenagers

U right! Lion! North is Big for the South Fork conference. Compared to the rest....Let’s just call ‘em stout!

Shelbylion my man...how are you?...no they aren't big,,,I believe maiden creek said they were..they are just a well disciplined team....they do remind me alot of the 2008 Newton team but I believe they will give Burns fits...no disrespect to Burns because I am glad to see you guys back at the top...always like to watch Burns play....and I believe Shelby would get them with the slant pass across the middle...

This group is fighting for something North has never had in football! they are loaded with seniors. They are strong ,fast, disciplined and athletic across the board with playmakers on both sides of the ball. They have all
“bought “ into team first! They will pound on you with the option and they run it fast. But stay home cause they can and will throw too. These boys will be ready to play come playoffs will give any team in the state (2A) their moneys worth. Burns/Shelby/North all have losses so they can be beat. North wants it’s so I would expect interesting games with Burns and Shelby if they go 2AA.

I agree. One of them little un’s is Soorus! He ain’t much bigger than a minute and yet he can jump into the end zone from the 7, lob a honeydew into pay dirt from the 25, and sling a well seasoned #5 cast iron frying pan through the uprights from the 50! He is like the mantis on Kung Fu Panda! That cricket is a skillet slinging, pumpkin chucker that can’t wait till them Cleveland county boys roll in!
I hope North gets to play one of ‘em.

I wouldn't say North Lincoln is small overall. They are comparable to Burns in size...not as big as the Lions overall. They don't have a 235 pd LB like Hollifield but their LBs are quick and they have a couple of tall DBs with speed. Bottom line, this NL team is much better offensively and defensively than the one that got dominated at the line of scrimmage last year in the play offs by the Lions.

I have not seen Burns. In common opponents both Burns and NL blew out ER and against Newton-Conover also very similar results....Burns 49-12, NL 43-7. I haven't seen Shelby but I have seen Kings Mountain a couple of times. Very surprised at how easily KM handled Shelby. How good is Shelby compared to last year?

I feel confident that NL can play with both Hibriten and Burns. I have the utmost respect for Shelby and their program as the best year in and year out. Don't know if NL can hang with them or not but I do know if they meet this year the Lions will get a tougher contest than last year.
