Ok...no dog in the fight but the hit I saw that caused the ejection was a questionable ejection hit....Shelby posters remember when your running back was sitting on the defenders stomach and jumped up and ran for the touchdown even though everyone thought he was down...WBTV showed it on the commercial for FFN for years....I believe that there should be two football divisions in school now....tackle and flag (for the butthurt people)....

Its as Simple as this, this is going to be the 2nd Best game this year. South Point vs HIbriten was the 1st, Shelby vs Hibriten is the 2nd. You dont get to see many games like this in a 5 year span,, This is coming in a Span of three weeks. Warning: Dress Warm, its going to be Very Cold, But its going to be a Great Game to Watch,, Hibriten has the advantage of being at home,, But Shelby is still Shelby and you gave to give them Credit for that and their program, and then Beat them, nothing will be handed to you by them. Cant wait until Friday night to make the trip up there to see this game. Going to be CRAZY, INTENSE, Hard hitting by two very good teams,, good Luck to Both Teams and leave it all on the Field. I wouldn't go that far, they find a way to give opportunities for picks and fumbles in more than a few games. Only difference is Hibriten can capitalize where other 2A teams usually don't.

You’re right, Chopper. This game is on the Shelby quarterback, that all important position, and if any Shelby poster says otherwise, they’re lying. I am saying this, because I witnessed the pressure that comes along with that position first hand.
Man, let me tell you a true story from a phone conversation with a lady friend of mine last season. We had just had our butts kicked by South Point two weeks before, and now it was the week of the infamous 2nd round game with the Red Raiders. Shelby’s basketball team had a big game that week, Thursday, if I’m remembering correctly, packed house. This woman tells me that my son walks into the gym, and the whole energy of the Shelby side of gym changed, and the attention was shifted towards him as he walked to take a seat. She was having a convo with a guy, and the guy looked in the direction of the quarterback and said, “It’s all in that man’s hands”. The woman said she was thinking to herself, “If y’all don’t leave that poor baby alone”. I told my brother it was a legacy game for my son, and if he loses, all his accomplishments would go out the waste side, that’s how much pressure is on that position. My son ended up losing two weeks later to Hibriten, but I was obviously proud of him, regardless. Damn what some others thought!
Back to the current quarterback, I’ve run into him on a couple of occasions recently, great kid, great positive energy about him, destined for greatness, he’s had a great junior campaign, but we will go as far as he takes us. Most don’t care about him “threading the needle” against Ashe County, North Lincoln, and West Lincoln. This opponent we have in Hibriten is a defining game that you build your rep and resume on. If the line continues its good play, and if Bess protects the football, I love our chances. We have the athletes! Hibriten will not out athlete us. That’s a fact!!!!

Hibritens D has a tough job of rushing without losing contain and covering the WRs for extended periods of time. I figure Gee will break a run or 2 but I dont forsee us marching up and down the field all night.
Wrong!!!! No.13 was a starter last season. If he had glasses, I’m serious, not trying to be funny, and his dad frequents this site, but doesn’t post, the young man would have been a potential FCS receiver/safety. He had too many drops, including two fatal drops vs Hibriten, one on our final drive for a potential go ahead score. I still have nightmares of that play. The young man couldn’t consistently see the ball in to catch it, probably is the reason he’s not a stater this year. Eaves also started at receiver last year, he’s returning all conference. The offensive line was young, and was mixed and matched all season, but they gained valuable experience, hence its improved play.

You dont hear of it often but it has happened before. I didn't think Moore should have been ejected or suspended and I dont think Ellis should.

Agree! That was ridiculous, and as he said then, he was just making a football play. I love football on all levels, just love to watch it, and I respect the effort to make the game safer, but I saw a few college games this season where players were ejected for targeting, and some of the ejections were just ridiculous. Recently, I saw a Dallas player launch on a tackle, head to head, on Alvin Kamara of the Saints, no call.

It’s just now Wenesday. How many pages will this thing jump to. I have no dog in the fight and nothing to say that prob hadn’t been said 30 times or more already lol. To make my 2 Cents interesting in looking back at old comments on this page it appears Ashe is slow, North Lincoln slow and West has and had the track speed on the team. Ashe and North have more trackstars on the team than West does. In the open track, I believe but not firmly that North and Ashes Running backs and wideouts would outrun West’s and some of Shelby’s. I was at the regional meet at Bunker Hill. Shelby had speed but it wasn’t topping Bandys or Hibritens or one of Ashe county’s. How and why Norths running game got shut down is dazzling. Maybe Shelby better prepped for it as opposed to West game and played better.

Shelbys line is basically new Lattimore and tripplett only 2 kids from ladt year...the other starter broke leg in 7 on 7 so hasnt played. No excuses.. But they were greem 1st of yr.. Those boys are getting much better as of late.

Nah, I’m an honest worker. If I’m not sick I don’t call in. A Gee Witherspoon sweep play to the right, 5 to 7 yards or more every time. Shelby won’t stop it. Bandys never stopped it lol. Shelby will do a better job of stopping it but they won’t stop it. Hibriten by 14.
