Round 3: Burns @ North Lincoln

Yes, North Lincoln is very well rounded. They are a well coached team. I couldn’t see TJ coming away with a win If They would have played North later in the season instead of week one last year. And North has steadily raised its level of play to an elite tier over the last 2 years.

I've seen both these teams this season.
Both teams are well rounded. Im giving the edge to Burns. IMO its like the old saying, speed kills. Burns has more of it and on both sides of the ball.

Sounds like you believe Burns has a big edge in speed. I've seen both teams as well this season and I don't see that. Besides Pryor, who in your opinion are the other Burns players that have so much speed. I didn't see any that are faster than Soorus, Brady, Williams, Beard, and Rathbone.

I agree here. NL has multiple D1 recruits. Some for football, some for track and field, and 2A state track champions on their roster. They are fast and they fly under the radar. Nothing that NLHS fans or athletes aren't used to. It doesn't matter where they are who they play people consider them underdogs. I believe they will continue their win streak and shock many people along the way.

LBs, DBs and S especially 23, and that D line aint no joke either. They had a small kid playing nose guard that was in the backfield most of the game. He was so quick he just beat the O-line terrible

Hell it really dont mean a thing what none of us think. It's all about match ups, who can play a clean game without mistakes.

Rathbone couldn’t run a 4.5 with his ass on fire being chased by a bear:D:p..He’s a beast there at corner though.

Love this dialog and hype for this game. You guys comparing speed and who has it who don’t etc, all I know is I didn’t see it for Burns on the track as far as Nc prep track.com goes on results like the Cleveland co championship track meet. Burns must have guys on football team that are really fast that have no interest in track I dunno. I’ve made these track post before and it’s fitting because North did just win the 2A state title in track. Not much of it was won with speed from the football players but trust me the speed is there and they have just enough of it. May not be big time 10.5 10,75 100M fast but they do enough. From the track results I hadn’t seen were Burns burned up the 100M or the 200M but it’s not to say they don’t have the players on the team that can’t.

Enough bout track, this game is gonna come down to timing, right defensive shifts, calls, and of course Pryor. From what I’ve seen, no bias just truth from observation - North May be in trouble with Pryor simply because from the Pisgah game, sometimes their RB broke lose and made yards and if HE did it then whew. We in for a big one if your a North fan or player or coach. The Gaps will have to be well covered and players coming off their blocks in the best way possible to stand a chance. North O will move the ball there’s no question. But this is were the phrase really comes into play and that is “Offense wins games Defense wins championships.” If North can get key stops, then it’s on. But being a guy pulling for North this Pryor guy has me on edge of seat. He prob has everybody on edge of seat lol. This is gonna be a good one that I know personally people coming from out of town to see a good game and expect a bigger crowd than last Friday. Earlier the arrival the better I’m telling ya.

I joked about the Pisgah game oughta be moved to East Burke, just jokeily speaking however I found a seat pretty easy at the Pisgah game. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to have it at East Burke if your expecting a MUCH larger crowd and very well could be since some schools are out of it and some of their fans will wanna see a good game.

I totally agree it will be a good game and both teams will need to poised and ready!

Now moving this game is actually a funny joke you have there. No way in heck that would ever happen unless it was forced upon them from the state. Their stadium is fine and meets all the state requirements. It wouldn’t benefit them to move it just so people who have no connection to the school can come. NL will play their game on their rightfully earned home field which has been the heart of that school and community through the good the bad and the ugly.

Seen both play, NL will win this game by a couple of TD's, will be shocked if it doesn't happen. The Pryor kid for Burns is probably one of the best HS RB's I have ever seen, definitely an interesting match, can talk about Burns athletes and I have seen them live but NL matches them pretty well, and yes they have speed. I think the big question for each team, Burns: will the QB have a big night? NL: will they be able to handle the athleticism Burns puts on the defensive line they haven't faced a group like this yet, Pryor is going to do what he does and NL's 3 back attack is going to do what they do, I believe Sweezy (name?) is going to have to come up big and hit his athletic wide outs in a very small window and put NL's LB's (athletes) on their heels and NL's O line is going to have to compete against a very athletic D line and not give them free shots on their athletes. NL is the better team in my opinion but that doesn't always mean they will win the game, best of luck to both teams, great job getting to this point. Both coaches are awesome guys and deserve their success.

Just had a chance to look at the (county newspaper) from yesterday.
They should rename it the West Lincoln Times. Congrats to WL but geez you would never know who swept the county and conference.
Jealousy running rampant in the big city!!!

You shouldn’t tell everyone you read the newspaper as it shows your age (unless you read it online). I wonder who would win on that vibrating football board I used to have?? Maybe we can make Pryor turn around in fast circles like some of those pieces used to do...hehe!

Hahahahahahaha this is great.

Im making my prediction.
The winner is

We are getting down to brass tacks. We are 2 games away from the final. KM, Shelby, and Crest have prepared the Dogs. They want to meet Shelby again bad. Congratulations to North on a great season. I believe the Bulldogs win this one because the are seasoned for the battle. It’s been exactly 25 years since we won our State Championship. Let’s do it again!!!!

The regional runner up on Dec 6th

I watched Pisgah run up the middle with ease Friday night until NL made adjustments and ended up pushing the rushers to the ends...I have seen them do that 3 times this year...I believe whoever makes the adjustments to win will win....

That might be exactly what gives NL the edge. They have experience this year with being challenged and having to make adjustments at half time. Each time their opponents have been held scoreless after the adjustments were made.

From reading everything here... I might as well just stay home Friday night... Burns has no chance, absolutely cannot stop what NL has... It's a guaranteed NL win! Burns, save your time & money! Stay home! I'll see you boys next year!

Shelby vs. North Lincoln in the Western Final... Book it

Not sure what you’re reading but seems like a lot of different opinions to me. Everyone has an opinion on the game. That’s what’s interesting about these posts. Wouldn’t be fun if everyone had the same pick.

Are you formally known as DaBombDropper? Just curious.. Seems to me anyone outside of the Burns faithful or the Shelby boys think there's no way Burns wins... NL is to good..

By the way, Franklin was unbeatable in 2011 too :)

Who yall playing friday evening? Go sit in the corner big baby and cry because the power has shifted in Lincoln co ....boo hoooo.

No need to do that. The power will return to LHS. Until then I’ll enjoy playoff football like always. I’ll be there Friday. My guess is 35-28. Not even sure which team I’d pick. Got nothing against Burns. Can’t wait to see Pryor in person.

That’s all we heard in 2011. I do think NL will have more athletes than Franklin had that year though. It’s all going to come down to who executes the game plan.

Absolutely NL has more athletes than Franklin did in that game.. No question about that... This won't be a 14 point game like it was at Franklin... Just saying this game, and the narrative leading into this game, feels the same.. That's all

Yes I agree. All the yipping and yapping. The three brothers couldn’t be touched...so on and so forth. Mr. Darius Ramsey and Mr. Travond Ross changed that real quick. I personally think this is a “trap” game for Burns. Not by any means am I saying that NL hasn’t earned their ranking etc but to say I feel like the burns team may think after winning last week that this week will be a lesser game. That’s definitely not the case.
