Round 2: Burns @ Hibriten

I kind of remember the last time these two teams met. If I am not mistaken Hibriten fumbled and Burns took a 7-0 lead? After that it was the Gee show! Oh how the roles are reversed. Now Burns has the stud running back. We have a freshman rb that will be a stud. I read earlier in the post that your rb was a freshman back then? This is the 2nd time I have picked my team to lose. I think Burns will win by 18. I do not like to pick against them. I told quite a few friends of mine that I thought it was a bad idea to play Alexander the 1st game of the year. All went well to begin with and Hibriten lead 13-0 but the ensuing kickoff Alexander Central ran the kickoff almost all the way back. That seemed to change the whole game. I like our new head coach and I think Hibriten will get better but sadly I think it ends here this year! This was suppose to be a down year so 11-2 is not bad. I do wish that Hibriten would schedule one of the Cleveland County schools during the nonconference schedule. It would be great for our program. 55-3 is not a bad record and 2 of the losses were the regional final. I never thought I would say we are one wide receiver from another state title!
Gee vs Burns. I fear this will be Hibriten chasing their rb tonight. I hope I am wrong and you all can wear me out next week if I am wrong, lol!
RIGHT PATS,,, We havent seen the competition to know just how good or how average hibriten is.. Special teams have not been as good this year as in years past,, our kick coverage is at times,, horrible.. I still think hibriten is one year away,,, this is a good test for these kids and continuing this program they are building at hibriten..
Don’t know anything a ut either team except strength of schedule therefor I’d go with Burns by 14
Man, I'm excited. I legitimately had a dream last night that something happened to Hibriten's field and we had to play in some random field with no bleachers. The first play of the game, Hibriten threw an interception, we fumbled a long return, and Hibriten ran that fumble back for a TD. I woke up a little angry. Let's hope that doesn't happen. LOL. Safe travels Dawgs. Myself, Bulldog02 and Rev will be arriving around 6:30.
I'm with ya... next year looks very bright for Hibriten and I'm not totally persuaded they can't win tonight. mackey does a good job with game planning on the defensive side so he might have an answer for Prior.
I remember several years ago when B.J ran over every team Freedom played but KM came to town and totally shut him down resulting in negative yardage. This could be the case in lenoir tonight if Hibriten D responds

Then it was Burns that fumbled early. I couldn't remember. I do remember we owed West Rowan some payback that year and that went to plan. But those so-called midgets came to Hibriten and crushed all of our Hope's and dreams of a state title that year.
I absolutely do not think this will be a 14 point game.. Hell I don't think it'll be a 10 point game.. I think Burns wins, but it'll be close..

Lol. I had a long day at work and got home around 9:00. I was so exhausted. I did eat some red wok before I went to sleep. That may have been it.

@BlueRidgeTire the West Rowan game is when we fumbled early. I think we had 2 early fumbles and they scored off of 1 of them but after that it was a rout. That was Gees coming out party he had about 250 yds that game.
Game in 2016 was bad. Burns showed some fight and was clawing back and failed to stop y’all on third and long and hat was the dagger and took away any chance of a come back.
Dang I am all confused! I remember now that Gee had a monster game vs West Rowan. Thanks for reminding me.
This is actually my first trip to Hibriten. I don’t post much but I occasionally read it. I wasn’t able to go last time but BBB offered a carpool this week so we are going to make the trip. I look forward to it. It has been a fun year and I hope we can continue after tonight. I told Devine yesterday that even if we were blessed to win it all I would still be depressed the next week because the season is over. lol Nothing like high school football. See you guys in a few hours.
He’s a great back. Only a junior. Hopefully he will get some help next year.

The atmosphere at important Hibriten games is something impressive

I have to agree here. When shelby went there a few years ago, I couldnt believe it. That is one atmosphere you DONT want to play hibriten at
The last 3 years I have watched all of my playoff games at Hibriten. I absolutely love watching games n that stadium... heck they even paid me a 1000 bucks to watch the 2nd round ... in the snow,ice, then rain yeah that was cold
