yeah we should be very good again next year. but im not not sure if its meant to be for us to play in the state title game lol. it doesnt matter how good we are. we always come up just short. but still, i cant ever route for my rival to win, unless it somehow benefits my Panthers. and being East Duplin is out now, Northside winning state has no benefits to us. therefore, being brutally honest, i hope Shelby beats the brakes off of Northside. that will at least make me feel a little bit better.
if its not meant to be it will never happen, 2 platoon or not. im not saying its not meant to be, but i sure looks that way sometimes.

more lucky then good? Hmmm I don't think luck beats two teams that previously beat us in the regular season, luck doesn't win you four games on the road and a ticket to the state finals. What does win you that is having a good team. We outplayed ED tonight, if you were at the game you would see that. And it wasn't luck tonight. It was adjustments, and a solid defense that beat up on ED tonight.
Nothing but respect for you guys and ED and of course coach battle. Fun playing you guys one last time as conference opponents
i give respect to the NS defense. they were lights out. but our defense was almost just as good. we led almost the entire game and never trailed until less than 6 minutes left in regulation. just how you guys drew it up right? get out of here. NS scored at the very end of the first half. and again at almost the end of the game. you only lead for a little over 5 minutes, although that was enough to win. and yes you are a good team, but anytime a team wins games in such dramatic fashion, over and over and over, im sorry there is some luck involved. that doesnt mean youre not good, but in the playoffs you have to be good AND lucky. and these playoffs you have been both. youre going to have to be real lucky to beat Shelby.
what part of "we are not meant to win, or even make it to state" dont you understand? we could "4" platoon and still not make it. i dont know if its a curse or what, but its real. everything cant always be chalked up to X's and O's.
I understand your point of view, but the game winning pass was a great pass on an exposed corner, and you still had 4-5 minutes after to score
Wiz, with all due respect sir, im not sure how many hard times you have seen Clinton go through, but you do not understand my pain. when you support a team that has won, i think, 5 state championships, and has had several more state championship appearances like you do, you cant possibly understand my pain. sometimes i think its better to be a mediocre team at best, and not even be mentioned in the conversation of state title contenders, than to be constantly knocking on the state championship door, only to never to be able to walk through it. its the most frustrating feeling in the world. now here we have a school thats been around only a fraction as long as East Duplin has in Northside, already playing in the state title game. it gets to the point where sometimes i think about just not caring about high school football anymore. because the more emotionally invested you are in something, the more disappointed you are when they fall short of the hopes you have for them. if i stop carjng maybe we will win a title then.
i agree, but our starting corner/QB was on the bench due to injury. we could have used him on defense AND offense at the end of the game. you guys were lucky he was on the bench or maybe you never score that TD pass. also we would have had a much better chance to respond with a TD of our own after you guys scored. but as it stood we had a backup corner in on the TD pass, and a backup QB in on our last offensive drive. but like i said before, your defense held us to no offensive TD's. something that hasnt been done to us in a long time. they played lights out. but im not going to sugarcoat it and say i wish you guys luck in the title game because i dont. theres no need in me lying about it. either way you have been a good sport for the most part.

Can't say that I disagree with you 1234, I think our schedule actually hurt us, I mean we played some good teams but playing Union after WRH on the makeup game and the Nort Lenoir, that was weak. Next years different opening up with Cape FeR the only weKling will be Spring Creek

i never ever told anybody they will find out who we are when we play in the state. unlike you i never make bold predictions like that. you need to stop lying and try telling the truth for a change. and still, grow up.
much appreciated. i might talk just a litle bit of trash, but i NEVER talk too arrogant or cocky like some of these posters up here. i may give my prediction but i always know it could go either way when two good teams are playing. and i always try to give respect to my opponents. and if im being completely honest, i had a feeling during the game that NS was going to come back and win. ive seen far too many times in the 3rd rd or eastern chamionship where we dont get the job done. unfortunately disappointment is our middle name.
