Newton Conover vs Hibriten

I haven't seen either team but I know both are solid and Newton comes in this year a much improved team. Not sure if that comes from a lot of returns with a stack set of guys coming up from a strong jv or Beam has changed a few things. Great coach, hope he never leaves NC.
There's no if Newton beats them about it, they won't, I'm just a realist. One indicator in this game. Should they even score 2 TDs or more it'll show Newton is conf champ ready and will show Hibriten they got work to do if they expect a better repeat game with SP in December. Don't wanna jump too far ahead but at the rate they are going they will play in Dec so hope complacency don't sit in.

Newton is much improved. Coach Beam has done a great job with these boys in the weight room for one. I can't really say that they had many come up from the JV team last year as most of the key contributors all played varsity last year with the exception of maybe 3-4 starters. The team as a whole is still pretty young. They start 4 10th graders if I'm not mistaken and the bulk of the team are juniors. I think this Hibriten game will really show a lot as far as where Newton exactly is and if this is a close game I think people will start to chatter about this years Red Devils. Good Luck to both teams and I am hoping for an injury free night!
Newton has only beat one 500 team in the last 3 years. Athletes are everywhere and in abundance. When will we see Newton win a game we are not supposed to win. Is Friday the night? I think Hibriten will end up winning but I look for coaching to be a major factor in this game. Can Beam prepare his young linebackers to scrape all night and play assignment football or will Hibritens triple tear down the front 7. I look forward to seeing the creative defensive sets from each team. Look to see a lot of explosive plays this game.
Weather is supposed to be nice. I'd get there early you can park at William Lenoir Middle school and get in and out alot quicker.
This should be a very good gate and a good game. I think Hibriten's defense will be tested more this week than previous weeks.
Coach Mackey has prepared for Matt Beam on several occasions while at Freedom and will be prepared. N Conover will have a harder time stopping Hibriten.
Any bombs dropped Friday night will probably be dropped by G Witherspoon!!

I really can't see Newton losing by 33 - that's a bit of a stretch in my opinion. I mean last week Simmons only had Newton over EB by 20, we see how that worked out so I'm definitely not believing the Hibriten by 33. I could always be wrong but knowing these kids from Newton like I do, losing by 33 is not something I can really see. Newton running a 3 man D-line definitely scares me, but we will see. Hopefully our linebackers will make a TON of plays and get some stops.

Hibriten better get it together. The refs have kept Hibriten this close if you want the truth!! NC could easily be up by 3 scores. They have dominated every facet of the game so far, especially time of possession. Some suspect play calling by NC in the redzone has gave Hibriten nine lives as well!!
Newton has better line play than I thought they would have. That is where the game had been won thus far.
Newton has GOT to capitalize in the Redzone...you can't beat good teams coming up empty time after time!!!!
NCs poor playcallinv may be their demise here late in the game....pure bone head play calls esp. Special teams..and all that passing and no monopilization of the clock!!
