Depends on a person's age.Any leaks down there ??
Yes, Willie Byrnes wants to come as an assistant to whomever is chosen. I heard it at Cookout today.Any leaks down there ??
Only thing you hear at cookout is people gagging of horrible food 🤣Yes, Willie Byrnes wants to come as an assistant to whomever is chosen. I heard it at Cookout today.
Their headquarters is in Thomaville. I’ll pass it on😂Only thing you hear at cookout is people gagging of horrible food 🤣
OC, my friend, please don't pass that on. Cookout is a great place. Here, they're very busy even up until the time they close which is 3 A.M.Their headquarters is in Thomaville. I’ll pass it on😂
Hopefully, the Lincolnton location got additional staffing. I remember in 2021 they were extremely in the weeds because of short staff. You couldn't complain just understand that they were doing their best and wish that It's still existed.OC, my friend, please don't pass that on. Cookout is a great place. Here, they're very busy even up until the time they close which is 3 A.M.
Just kidding. About the passing it on part. Let’s just say that, in these parts, the food is much more popular than the owner. He’s a prickly sort and easily perturbed.OC, my friend, please don't pass that on. Cookout is a great place. Here, they're very busy even up until the time they close which is 3 A.M.
That is unfortunate, but I guess if I was running a multi-million dollar corporation that just made it to these parts I might be a bit on edge.Just kidding. About the passing it on part. Had a few encounters. They’ve been here about twelve years and moved from another part of NC. He bought Kyle Petty’s house and a whole bunch of commercial real estate. There are no signs on any of his buildings, so a lot of folks here don’t even know it’s headquartered in Thomasville.LOL, it’s a popular prestaurant, here. The reason I said something is because I thought you might know him since it’s headquartered in Thomasville.
Not thinking this'll be the place it's announced, Coach.Who is it ?
"Stress and long work hours" - aka what every HS head coach and assistant coach in America deal with every day. I would have probably just went with "personal reasons" or just resigned and leave it at that.Wolves' Byrd steps down

Is this a hint???Administration will need to look at it from all angles before making the decision.
I feel much better knowing how you'd have done it it the big city. You are hereby banished back to the 4A boards."Stress and long work hours" - aka what every HS head coach and assistant coach in America deal with every day. If coach has baggage. Makes me think beam or helms 🤷🏼♂️🤔🤔Is this a hint???
I coached football at the 3A and 4A levels for about 10 years, so I do know what the stress is like, and it's real. I also grew up playing at a 1A perennial/traditional power - so I know what it's like to have the extremely high expectations on you as both a player and a coach.I feel much better knowing how you'd have done it it the big city. Also learned that if you somehow change your name on here, your old posts follow you to the new name! Who knew?
Understood. It was your criticism of Byrd's exiting words that got you banished, lol. In a small, or big town, there are few positions with more stress, I'd imagine. Some love it, some would as soon live without it. Stress, good or bad, welcomed or not...takes a toll. Coach Byrd is a good guy. Nobody here thinks less of him for his word-choice or transparency.I coached football at the 3A and 4A levels for about 10 years, so I do know what the stress is like, and it's real. All signs point to Jaden Angle being the next head coach. Is this a hint???
You're right - and Lincolnton is one of those jobs that you mention, maybe I was a little tough on his exiting words - so I apologize for that. I just feel like it gives some of the people in those communities where football is such a powerful force unlimited ammo anytime his name is brought up to say. "Oh, he couldn't take it - he couldn't put up with the stress and expectations".Understood. It was your criticism of Byrd's exiting words that got you banished, lol. Your latest insight is valuable. You are no longer banished. Mind yourself, tho
I see your point, and it's correct. There's already competing "stories", some spread by his "friends". Not helpful to anyone, in my opinion. The next coach will live the same reality, and will be expected to be playing for Championships. And he will, when he has the team to do it. Just like every coach before him. You're right - and Lincolnton is one of those jobs that you mention, maybe I was a little tough on his exiting words - so I apologize for that. Is this a riddle? All signs? Pointing? All signs point to Jaden Angle being the next head coach.
Nice word playAdministration will need to look at it from all angles before making the decision.
Not a done deal quite yet, just what I speculate. If they do choose to go with Angle I hope he does not make the same mistake that Gibson/Byrd made by attempting to be the OC as well. IF Angle is the guy then I would like to see Cloninger call the plays, but we will see soon.Glad they are keeping it in house.
That would be a good one.Mike Byus.
Isn’t he coaching in South Carolina? Not sure he would take the pay cut. That would be a good one.
Think I'd heard he is the offensive coordinator at Rock Hill High.Isn’t he coaching in South Carolina? Not sure he would take the pay cut.
Welcome to the message board. Hard to believe a guy with that kind of insider insight just now joined in to share this piece of info. What else you got?I heard only three candidates were interviewed...
