Yes I need to correct my statement
Diamont put together the team that beat 2A Reidsville & the State 1A Championship against Tarboro. Sure Trent Lowman was good and took what was handed him and carried on Diamont's team. He can't be blamed, just the ones that forced Diamont out. Anyone that couldn't see that is blind.
Buzz, I also find it difficult to understand the run game strategy vs. ES. The very repetitive "between the tackles" run calls definitely made an impact on the games result. Easts front D line is strong / big....its known. Had a few tosses/ sweeps/ outside runs been implemented ( mix it up) , MA would've had a better chance of moving the ball on the ground. You're right, the talent is there. Its unfortunate that the rare offensive dual threat of Poindexter/Moore that MA has, wasn't utilized to its fullest potential Friday. More diverse play calling will be needed to keep moving forward. This will benefit the passing and run game. Definitely looking forward to a rematch in round 2.....the outcome may be different after considering the previous game plan result.
