I mean one bad game doesn't define East. They obviously didn't come to play and anyone there could see that, in my opinion a loss is really gonna be a rude awakening over there at East and I trust the good coaches over there are gonna fix the problems.

I can tell you the starting center for east wasn't even playing, they had a second string going head up against a defensive tackle, not to mention horrible effort all around. I will always give props to page, they played an all around better game than their opponent.

I still think both of these teams will make play off runs.

As for the piedmont triad conference, Northwest lost to a team that southwest beat by 50.... so if your asking for which teams better that may answer your question. Northwest seems to have a few reoccurring injuries and southwest/Northwest in all respect hasn't played anyone and starting conference play this week won't really play anyone beside east. Southwest will be undefeated when they play east and east will play them at home a place where they are virtually unbeatable at in regular season. (Last regular season home loss 2011 or maybe 2012.) Northwest will have the same situation. All around I think it's a contest of who gets second place and a good spot in the playoffs. Not to mention Glenn is sure to get kier Meirdith back from the Team USA baseball tryouts in a few days and will upset southwest or Northwest.

I think East Forsyth comes out of conference play 5-0

They were dominated. Big difference from having a bad game

Last year I went to this same game at EF. I came away thinking Page was a slightly better squad but it was close. Neither team was very good on defense but both had some real explosiveness to their offense.

There is simply no way a non-biased individual could look at this game on Friday and think these two teams were even. EF with out Smith at QB and Martin at WR is now just a one trick pony. Now.....Beal is a very good pony but elite teams are gonna sit on him like Page did and they don't have anything concern a defense other than him.

When you have to rely on HB option passes and punt returns for scores you are in big trouble.

I think your gonna get a good idea at how poor the EF offense is when Page plays Dudley. I suspect Dudley moves the ball pretty easily on them.

Were you there? Page didn't dominate that game Friday. They did dominate the 1st quarter and East was scrambling from there. The score doesn't indicate just how close this game was. East had just scored when Super Freak Odell Beckham the III Christian Beal took one to the house. The East defense had just made Page go 3 and out 3 or so times. They had Page in 3rd down and 8 or so around the Page 40 when the LB for East missed Leake on a tackle. Leake busted off the edge and went 60 yards for a TD. If East holds on that play forces a Page punt we maybe singing a different song today. 1 the Page QB was out of the game at this time with what looked to be like a bad injury to his throwing arm. Everytime he threw the ball he almost fell to the ground and held his throwing arm in pain. Page better hope it's nothing major cause if so they could be in a lot of trouble. Also, Leake had just took a big shot and was out of the game for a few plays. If this thing went into OT there is no telling what would of happened. IMO I think these teams are very equal to each other and if they played 10 times they'd both probably go .500

I was there and Page looked just as bad on offense as East did after the 1st quarter. The only difference in the game was the fact that the East Defense had two breakdowns 1 that went for 90+ yard TD and one that went for 60+ yard TD. If you take those two plays away East held Page offense to around 95 yards rushing. They also held the Page offense to around 90 yards passing. That's not a dominate performance in my mind.

Page Defense held East to 73 yards rushing and 175 yards passing according to Maxpreps. The difference was the two big runs by Leake. Page had one score set up by a bad snap on a punt by East and East had a punt return for a TD. For anyone to say they dominated is funny to me. Both teams looked out of sync all night and maybe I should give credit to the defenses for that. I'm just saying that if Leake doesn't bust out two home runs this game is close and the stat line looks just as ugly for both teams. Both teams are good and will challenge in the playoffs like I said but neither team will beat Butler or MC and Page won't be able to touch Dudley.

BTW, NW Guilford lost to SEG because of a major injury to their best player. That threw the team out of sync after that. They were up 14-0 before Hennigan went down. If they played SEG right now they'd beat them by just as many in my mind. Hennigan will be back for the East game which is very big for the Vikings

East Forsyth total offense: 231
Javon Leake total offense: 245

I don't care who's playing the game. 9 out of 10 times you are going to lose if the above numbers are correct?

Yes I agree with you....
I just said take away the two big plays and both teams look the same. I'm saying neither team looked dominate. Both looked equally as sloppy on offense. Take away Leake's 96 yard run and his 67 yard run.

East total offense-248
Page total offense minus two runs-190 yards

Take nothing away from Leake he's special...but I'm sorry in my mind both offenses are in trouble come November.

Best lines of teams that lose-
- "It was closer than the score indicated"
- "If we would have had this guy or that guy"
- "If you just take out a couple of 60 yard runs we were right there."
- "Those damn refs"

I would say this game was exactly as close as the final score. About a two TD game. Probably a bit much to say Page dominated them but there was simply no question who was the better team after 4 quarters. It was far more than just a bad 1st quarter and EF struggled to move the ball the entire game.

Yes the two big runs were back breakers. Cant take them out anymore than you can take the circus catch by Beal out or the punt return. All 4 were big plays turned in by big players.

Page didn't have a lot of passing yards because EF is great in the backend. They have the kids to play press and there were very little open receivers all night. Cone and Tate are very good. No reason for Gillespie to test them deep.

EF is a good team. The defense will shut down most teams and Beal by himself will be enough to generate offense against the rest of the teams they play. However.. teams with good defenses will shut off Beal, get pressure on Bullins and eventually the EF defense which doesn't have any depth wears down.

Which is exactly what happened Friday night.

I also agree that with Hennigan that becomes a interesting game against NWG
