East Forsyth who defeated page last year 31-30 will travel to 4-1 page. Page is averaging over 50 points per game and will have to try and go against there toughest defensive challenge yet. East forsyth defense featuring Madison cone (Wisconsin commit), safety Khalid Martin (5-10 d1 offers and DB Brandon Tate who is a three year starter with over 15 interceptions. This same East defensive recorded a fumble recovery, two interceptions and one was a pick six.

Page is red hot ever since a 39-29 loss at home to Davie county. The game will feature two of the top running backs in the state.

Who do you got?

Page must run the ball for a ton of yards to win! I agree... I think East has the best secondary in the State. Page must get multiple turnovers too... and stop East Offense. I like East in a close game, the RB for Page is balling right now! I don't know how Davie Co. beat them. West Forsyth was tied with East at Halftime only to lose by 13. Good tape for Page.

I've trying to figure out who I want to go watch this week and this might be it. Should be a great game.

The only time West Forsyth scored vs East was when starting middle linebacker who is also the defensive captain went down with a banged up right arm. After he returned 7 minutes later (late in the second) west virtually couldn't score.

Page virtually cannot and won't pass the ball down the field they may try a few times but statistically that doesn't work. So they are left with a run game, East forsyth did a great job last year stopping the run.

Historically this matchup ends up around the 20-30 point range per team.

I think its a toss up really and honestly the best game in the state maybe beside the Dudley matchup

Im a Panther, but pulling for them Pirates , I hope Page beats the brakes off East Forsyth ...East Forsyth always look good in regular season ,but then chokes in playoffs

No offense to the CPC, but the fact is EF hasn't faced an offense close to what they will see Friday night. Anxious to see if this defense is legit or not. I think Page will score around 20-25, so it will be on the EF offense to put up some points. There have been flashes here and there but lack of consistency at QB is hurting the running game. Opposing defenses just load the box. Must be able to loosen them up with the pass to get Beal room to work. It would also be great to cut out some of the penalties, I think 3 TD's got called back against Reagan for holding... can't do that against a team like Page.

I think EF pulls out a close one 27-24 with a big stop late on defense just like last year.

I'm well aware that the page team is "red hot" right now but there is also the fact the only team with a winning record they have played so far best them.

Page runs a three man front and I think it's gonna be really easy for Beal and crew to get 5 or more yards a carry.

Reagan had a lot of opportunities to get a few 30+ yard passes but the freshman QB overthrew his open receivers a lot. It's gonna be a good game.

I hate that I can't clone myself and head over to Marion Kirby Stadium tomorrow.....

This game intrigues me a couple of reasons. Page has been rolling up the points but EF's secondary will be by far the best Jones and company have faced. Now, Jones had some good success against them last year. However, he doesn't have Overton this time around. Ronald Polite will have his work cut out for him tomorrow.

I also think Javon Leake is going to have to have a big game for Page to have a chance. If Leake doesn't open things up, it could be a long night for Page on O.

Besides the usual football cliches, I think this game will ultimately boil down to one thing.....can the Page defense stop East Forsyth from grinding out long, punishing drives. If the Pirates want to win, they cannot let EF "cut the ring in half" so to speak.

EF also has a good field goal kicker. Not sure about Page.

All and all, I'm picking EF to win. I just think they're a tough, tough matchup for the Pirates.

If East forsyth gets past the page 40 they are working potential field goal range. The East forsyth kicker has hit a 55 yard field goal in practice and 47,49 in games.

East forsyth is also really pumped up after the page program and players making some remarks about East. Im starting to really like East in this one. Hope I can get to the game

Bullins over throws reciever by 20 yards for a int. Page now deep in EF territory. 8:42 left EF fans filing out

After fake punt keeps drive alive Beal takes it in from 25 on nifty little shake and bake jet sweep. 28-21. 3:40 left . Can EF get a stop?

The answer is no. Leake goes off tackle turns the jets on and goes 65 yards for the dagger. Im guessing Leake at roughly 230 yards on ground tonight.

Folks this one was never really in question, Page controlled this game pretty much all 4 quarters

Had to make an account just to post this. I was at the game tonight. No matter how close the scoreboard makes it look, Page dominated this game. East really disappointed me tonight.

East offense line is huge, but was dominated tonight. East backs couldn't do anything with the running game. And their passing game wasn't much better. The QB had ample time to throw surprisingly but he kept over throwing his receivers or throwing it to close to the sidelines where it goes out of bounds. Christian Beal is really the only offense the team got tonight. He made some amazing catches including that one handed catch for a TD.

One the defensive side, of course they barely threw to Cone's direction. He did his job. But East could not stop #1 for Page. He ran all over their defense. He's truly responsible for their win tonight.

Overall East didn't look good tonight. They have a serious problem at QB and their line needs work. Hopefully they get it together by the end of the season.

I also can't wait for the Dudley and Page game. That #1 for them is an absolute beast.

Edit: The team really misses someone like Nique Martin out there. I'm kinda surprised he didn't go to a better college because he put on a show last years playoff.

Edit 2: East really needs to work on their hurry up offense. They take entirely too much time changing plays trying to get the defense confused. It didn't work all day and it wasn't going to work at the end of the game.

East had one bad game against a high caliber team, I fully expect willert and crew to fix the problems and injuries in the next two weeks.

Not to mention some off the blown pass interference calls, East forsyth had WR's on the ground or being pushed or shoved and no flags for the most part. Best of luck to page and best of luck to East.

Good post by Forsythco. Not a ton more to add. Those fans that think EF is a top 5 team in the state have lost their minds. Not even close.

- Big time QB problems
- Problems in the interior of the Oline
- Same issue as last year. Cant stop the run against physical teams.

EF has Beal, a very talented back end on D. Great cover corners and #2 is a special athlete at safety. And I think Willert is a very good coach. But that's it. They try to use Cone as another weapon but he is small and not a good target. They do miss Nique Martin. Frankly I thought the EF defense was a bit better last year.

Page played a pretty solid game. Much more physical of the two. Leake running behind the big Oline is the bread and butter. When Jones get time to throw he is accurate and has enough athleticism to be a threat in that read option. Defense is undersized but they are scrappy. Don't miss tackles and Gillespie has several junk defenses he will throw at you from time to time. Only downside tonight for Page is they really lack numbers and they need to clean up special teams. Otherwise that could be a final 4 team I think depending on matchups.

LOL, gotcha. Just fix the problems. OK

Although #2 for East had a blown coverage play that Page capitalized off of, he did play a good game. He's fairly Tall as well. East should try him at receiver.

You gotta fix the mistakes?

I think for one, these players are used to winning that was their first lose in two years and hopefully will help motivate them for the future. I've been to almost every east game and by far that was the worst game they have played in a long time. Props to page for winning but I still think East is a high caliber team

I admittedly only go to their playoff or highly ranked games. I'll probably go see them play Southwest since apparently they're good now.

I honestly just want to see SOMEBODY from Forsyth County win. I've seen Mt. Tabor get destroyed by Hoggard in 2007 and Carver lose a tough one to Tarboro in 2010. I need something lol.

Congratulations to Page. Sounds like Jones and Leake did their thing. Can't wait to see Beal's catch.

Hopefully, these two will meet again in the near future.

It shocked me how badly Southwest beat Southeast tonight. I still have doubts as to whether SW can handle top-level teams. However, their QB (Jaron Rainey) is fun to watch. He throws a really nice football.

The QB for east took a rough hit from Pennsylvania state commit last week and had a hurt hand but played through it resulting in some balls being overthrown this week. The run defense for east is fine, you have to keep in mind Leake is rated as the top running back. A big time player made big plays, It's football.

East forsyth has sedrick slight as well as Madison cone. Both of those had a lot of deep passes which were subject to a series of questionable no calls. The page DB's weren't even looking at the ball and pushing the WR to the ground. I'd say In total there were 7-10 40+ yard plays taken away because the referees never threw a flag. I give props to page, all in all they had a great game and came to play. East didn't come out on top but I don't think they are in trouble.

Keep in mind last year page lost this game and went to the state championships. Once again best of lucks to both teams

I

You have lost your mind.

Keep in mind Leake had maybe 25 yds

East has a QB problem....Page had negative 29 rushing in the State Championship game. You have to figure that out. Page lost last year by 1 point. EF was never in this game at all. EF will maybe win there conference. They don't have the fire power to go far in the playoffs. You must stop the run,

I'm an East guy so let me just say... you are delusional! QB play, run game, basically entire offense is a mess other than Beal. And anything he gets is making something out of nothing. Blocking is terrible. Run D was good at times but wore down when they were on the field all night with offense doing nothing. Leakes yardage was mostly the 2 long runs. One bust in the secondary on the td but mostly sit down the pass. Gotta get off the field on 3rd down, qb extended plays and found someone late several times. Stupid penalty on attempted fake punt early 1st quarter hurt. Could have grabbed momentum then and run with it but blew it.

They've got the talent to do some damage in the playoffs but a lot of work to do.

7-10 40 yard plays taken away. Look, you were either not there or your just simply making this shit up to make yourself feel better. East is a good football team but they are far from great. They may run the table in the conference but the conference is terrible. If the match up is right they could get to the 3rd round but that is gonna be it this year. They have struggled to move the ball all year and it really showed up aganst a decent defense last night.

Just like last year they couldn't stop a physical running team but there big problem is on offense. They scored 3 TD's

One on a HB option pass where Beal has to make the catch of the year.
A punt return
Fake a punt to extend a drive. Get two penalties and finally punch it in.

They had 230 yards in total offense. Leake had 243 BY HIMSELF.

Yes Page lost a close game last year and went to the finals but they had the luxury of going East and that Page team was MUCH better than this EF team.

I wouldn't say Ef conference conference is terrible. We don't know how good Swg is yet (they are undefeated). Nwg has talent also.

NWG in my mind is better than SWG this year. In the end I think that NW Guilford has the offense and defense capable of beating East this year. If East plays like they can they can be the top team again in that conference. If they play like they did against Page NW Guilford will challenge them for the conference. East looked like they didn't know a game was going on until late in the 2nd quarter.

Page wasn't much better in this one folks. They were just as sloppy as East in my mind they just happened to break two big runs one was 94 and the other was 67 I think. The Page QB looked to having an arm injury and he had 2 or 3 Int's and couldn't have thrown for more than 100 yards. The East DB's dropped 2 other potential Ints on top of that. All in all both teams are good but both teams are not a State Championship team. Maybe a 3rd rd team if they get a good draw.

Well, they may both be talented but historically neither school has done much over the last couple of year

Nwg went to the 3rd round a couple of years ago.

I was impressed with Ef, although they have things to clean up. Its going to be some battles in 4aa and 4a for that matter. Page and dudley will be a huge game.

As for Nwg and Swg, still not sure about either. Nwg should have been able to beat southeast even with Hennigan being hurt. But I think both could challenge Ef.
