I find it hard to believe anyone would pick something different. Only game I see being closer than expected is the Newton/WL game...but I don't see WL losing 3 weeks in a row.

Maiden by more than people except Bandys has no defense.

Bunker Hill by alot east Burke is falling apart

Wolves by running clock

West Lincoln in a shootout. If Newton Conover had any type of descent defense they would win they don't. West Lincoln has given up over 500 yards the past 2 weeks

NC Had to be differnt although I really think WL wins by 3 TD's...but, never know...

Too easy. I usually blab a lot but no need.

Maiden cause it’s Maiden. But Bandys will and can move the ball so this shouldn’t be a dull game. Not as dull as sitting and watching the Kardahsians.

The Hill over EB. Hey just keeping it real. Small chance of am upset, very small. Great halftime show scheduled- Paul Mavlenshuffle will be singing “Loving You” with his som Barthalemmule carrying the high pitch while poodles jump through some hoops.

Lincolnton. Starters out early. Everybody will play. I mean “come on man” (Joe Biden voice) And after a 2nd win the players will dunk the coach with with well, “you know, the thing” (Joe Biden voice)

West Lincoln over Newton not much of a problem but should be good for 2 quarters. After Newton players walk off mad at the loss, the press box plays “ call someone who cares”

I’ve got…

Maiden
Bunker Hill
Lincolnton
West Lincoln

Most of us do..except Dad23…with his lone wolf pick of Newton. Really…it’s not a bad pick. If y’all recall that game went to OT last year. Just imagine the Johnny’s were sitting at 1-2 just like this year and managed to pull it out. Just wondering what would have happened if it went the other way. Imma keep an eye on this one!
Interesting tidbit….Newton’s QB Luangkhot is the Red Devils leading rusher by a mile…who knew?

Excited to see Bandys and their passing attack…and these great catches that Grizz posted about last week. Hope we see a shoot out!

I noticed the Bears RB Willis Jr. didn’t play…is he coming back this season? Also noticed the Bears passed for nearly 300 against West Lincoln…have mercy…QB Robinson must be a stud…like his older brother. The Bears are rolling and highly ranked….very impressive!
I’m betting East Burke shows up though!

Those daggum Wolves will be 3-1 in conference play after this one…. a 1 point loss from being 4-0!
Here comes those darn Wolves!….again!😜

The Wolves will be surprised when the West Caldwell team comes out on the field….they do have athletes… and surprisingly….they are a really good looking team!
Go figure!

Good luck! Fellers. Go! CVAC

Maiden (2-4 - 1-2) @ Bandys (5-1 - 3-0): Kind of thought if Bandys should play Maiden tough I'd feel somewhat better about our chances with blue Hawaii. Then this struggling light bulb begins to flicker, reminding me they're neighbors who share an old rivalry. In such games strange things happen, Course, they probably won't get into a fist fight. It wouldn't shock me though if the Trojans were able to stay in the game, but that's all they MIGHT be able to do. To have a real chance of winning against these guys they'd have to bring back Hector. Maiden by 17

East Burke (6-0 - 3-0) @ Bunker Hill (2-4 - 0-3): Maybe I'm just stuck on the "close games", but the Cavaliers need to make a good showing and more than likely will against someone. Just hope it ain't us. Unfortunately, I see the Bears winning another one. Bunker Hill by 14

West Caldwell (3-3 - 2-1) @ Lincolnton (0-6 - 0-3): Some are predicting a rout, but the Wolves aren't very good at that. Even when we had our winningest teams we weren't. Lincolnton by 20

Newton-Conover (3-3 - 2-1) @ West Lincoln (4-2 - 1-2): This is another game which wouldn't surprise me if it's close. Some are beginning to doubt The Rebels but frankly, I think they're a good team. Everybody will play them close and irritate them really bad until they're good and raw and PO'd for us. Like Bandys and East Lincoln, they probably hate us, anyway. Everybody messing with them just makes it bubble to the surface by the time we show up. West by 20

Postscript: Always remember, Dad of 23 spelled backwards in dad fo 32

Picks are also in bold.

How in the world did you switch the teams and records?…..Maiden at 2-4?…maybe…. but Lincolnton at 0-6?….Never happen!😂

Here is a link to the Hobbs Report and another link to the Charlotte Observer. The Observer's link only has action photos but does show a couple pictures of both teams doing the two-step. For the photos click the arrow in the right margin.
* Bandys has got themselves a sharp uniform.

Wow. Does Bandys JV look like they may have some good talent coming up. I see they are 6-1.
They have great size…made Maiden look small….really!
Good QB too…really…both teams were slinging it around all over the place.

#11 Trojan WR was a head taller than anyone on the field….he wore our DB’s out.

Ultimately….fumbles by blue…pretty sure it was 4….2 of which were short field that Green turned into TD’s…was the biggest difference maker.

Great game for the younger Trojans! They’re pretty good as their record indicates. 😉

Good game Bandys.
Maiden Creek, I unintentionally gave a thumbs up to this post when I came home, last night. Seemed to have got the colors turned around and thought Maiden had won.
Then, this morning I read your post #29 and thought, "I know he is a good sport and doesn't want to rub Bandys nose in it but he talks like The Blue Devils lost". Then I went back and realized that the Trojans had won. Didn't want you to think I was pulling against you.:)

Projections for Massey and CalPreps were posted earlier in the week by GrizzlyDevil. I included Simmons projections for the sake of a little comparison/contrast. My predictions for this week were also included.

Disclaimer: This sounds kind of chicken----, but My predictions are from what I know or have learned about the teams along with gut instinct and not the result of a mathematical power rating used by the other three, in which two of the three claim a correct percentage in excess of eighty percent, which in the world of statistics is very good. I counted Simmons (whom I have a great deal of respect for) once, and he was easily in that range.
Among us posters on the CVAC threads I'm in last place with a number of correct calls now standing at a whopping 69%, a number that seems to haunt me. Guess someone could say I'm the outlier.

Post Script: You probably had days when Saturday feels like Sunday or Monday feels like Tuesday. All week long I been thinking Lincolnton was at West Caldwell, and had read it and even posted it in my predictons on Tuesday. I should've thought something, heck, it's our homecoming.
Then, I looked at Simmons this morning. The games are neatly alphabetized beginning with the name of the visiting team. When looking for Lincolnton at West Caldwell, nothing was there. So all day long I've walked around with a grumpy edge thinking Simmons left us out. It even crossed my mind he had disqualified us for fighting down at Bandys, last week and was going to mention it on here. Awhile ago I scrolled through Simmons again and saw West Caldwell at Lincolnton.

Side Note: On Tuesday, in my predictions I put Maiden at Bandys, which is correct, but again felt like all week Bandys had to go to Maiden. If someone would have asked at the grocery store I'd of said Bandys is at Maiden. I'd been thinking about going up there to watch it since it is an old, old rivalry, but when looking at Simmons I remembered that the game was at Bandys and decided to have a change of heart.
A word of caution to the Blue Devil contingent traveling to Bandys, this evening. It is likely you will win and if you do you may be asked to exit the field at the visitors gate, they did us. If your team gets in a fight with them your asses will definitely go out the visitors exit. They'll tell you it's because of a band activity but actually they didn't want their fans to get Lincolnton germs on them. They'll also send the law enforcement over into your stands, which, they're welcome on our side. I wondered though if they were going to check our parole papers. LOL

Since 2004:

Maiden leads Bandys in the series 13-5; 12-5 have been in conference play
@ Bandys that record is Maiden 5-3
Maiden has outscored Bandys in these 18 games 468-375 (average: 26-21)

Maiden has kept Bandys to 1 score or less in 5 games (3 shutouts)
Bandys has kept Maiden to 1 score or less in 3 games (1 shutout)

Bandys last won in 2018 (37-28 victory)

Maiden Coach Will Byrne is 5-1 versus Bandys with the 1 loss being at Bandys in 2018

Maiden has scored over 30 points in 8 games
Bandys has scored over 30 points in 4 games

6 of the 18 games between the two teams decided by 8 points or less

Maiden will have the upper hand tonight...and have had the upper hand in recent history...but rivalry games like this...anything goes. I believe the Charlotte Observer said this was the 70th meeting between the two teams. Good luck to all players. Stay safe.

Play violent through the whistle. Keep your head on a swivel. LET THE SMOKE ROLL!!!!

GDevil, That thing about playing violent through the whistle. Could you define violent. We did that once, down there, last week, and got ourselves into some trouble. Just trying to help.

The other team should feel "rode hard and put up wet" every play...either within the rules of the game...or in a way you don't get caught.

The other team won't like it...dissident behavior must be retaliated and squashed...I think that's what got yall last week...the retaliation

I'll also explain in a way familiar to you: music.

You must play with a "Rolling Stones - Paint it Black" behavior...but paint within the lines
