I’ll take Bandys….I do believe that this game will be much closer than last year. Rumor has it….St. Stephens will be better. We’ll see.

Bunker Hill ain’t been the same team since that 12-9 win against Bandys a few years ago. The Bears just keep winning. The Bears lost a lot with skill players but there’s a good foundation still there…especially defensively. They’ll need it…Cramer still has the QB but they lost pert near everybody on defense. I’m going with the Bears in a thriller!

East Burke over Patton by a couple scores.

Hoping the Wolves can find a way…those South Point boys are tough…and heard they’re slinging the ball around too. Do what? I’ll take South Point but if the Wolves keep it close….we’re in for trouble!😜

Maiden is dinged up already! Ugh. I will say it’ll be good to see some of the younger ones get some varsity experience. Zane is listed at 5’5” and 170 lbs. and is all heart too? I’ll enjoy watching him play. I’ll take the Boom Devils.

Polk wins this game but hoping Newton keeps it closer than last year with a solid defense returning. Polk had 4 losses last year…all were to 2a heavyweights…Polk just might make a run this fall. Let’s go! Red Devils….Angus is coming!😜

I’ve got West Caldwell winning a game….but not this one! South Caldwell will be better this year.

West Lincoln….playing a Lincoln county rival…the Rebels will be fired up…you can bank on that! This should be one heck of a ballgame. I’m taking West Lincoln
…..they rarely lose at home!

2 More days then we get this ball rolling. I'm actually a little curious about what kind of offense and defense Foard's going to be running and how they're going to look under this new head coach

Surprised Foard was losing kids with new coach. We got one from Foard but he's gotta sit out a year. But rebuilding a program from scratch takes time and patience. Hope they give it and have it there.

Bandys at St. Stephens: I'll pick Bandys in this one. Kind of pulling for St. Stephens since St. Stephen was the first Christian martyr and since Cheerduck has family teaching there. Besides, I think Bandys, like East Lincoln, hates us.

Bunker Hill at Stuart Cramer: Have to go with Cramer even though I'd like to see the Bears win it for one of my neighbors.

East Burke vs Patton: From all I've read EB isn't to be messed with and I'd like to see them win it for NC Preps poster BFR. My pick is the Cavaliers.

Lincolnton vs South Point: Lincolnton wins this one at home.

Maiden at Foard: Maiden, nothing more to say.

Newton-Conover vs Polk County: Polk County. I'd like to see the Devils take it though.

West Caldwell vs South Caldwell: South Caldwell. Have to say, I enjoy going to games at West. It's on the side of a hill and you can smell the pine trees, like here. Sometimes, here, depending on where you're sitting it smells like bourbon.

West Lincoln vs North Lincoln: Should be a good game. Have to go with West. North Lincoln is an exempt area. Heard it said back in the old days "The East doesn't like the West, The West doesn't like the East, both do not like town and town doesn't like both of them". Since nobody knew what North Lincoln was they're exempt from all the disliking. Never understood how they got North Lincoln since the county is a rectangle like a shoe box but with a point. If it's a compass thing it should have been East, Northeast Lincoln.

Bandys at St. Stephens - Pulling for Bandys and I expect them to win here. If I am able to make a game tonight...I'll be here. It's my Nephew's Senior year...so I'll make what I can without completely abandoning my Blue Devils.

Bunker Hill at Stuart Cramer - I'm pulling for a CVAC sweep and I believe that Bunker Hill gets it done for their part. They want to start strong and develop a winning tradition, no better place to start than week 1.

East Burke vs Patton - East Burke is on the up and up...Patton won't be much of an obstacle for this hungry team.
East Burke by 14.

Lincolnton vs South Point - Everyone knows I'm high on Lincolnton this year...they have a tough non-con schedule that will be great for them. I don't believe they win tonight...but it'll be closer than people think.
South Point by 7

Maiden at Foard - I hate to miss Maiden games...but this year I will. Glad this could be one of them. We'll have a lot of backups getting valuable time.

Newton-Conover vs Polk County - Newton..newton...newton...man you never know what Newton team you'll get. They always have the pieces...can't seem to put the puzzle together. They won't tonight...but the potential is there.

West Caldwell vs South Caldwell - West is gonna West and the South is gonna roll.
South Caldwell by 35

West Lincoln vs North Lincoln - This may be the match of the week. WL talking state championship...can they win the Lincoln County Championship? Can the win the Conference? Lots of questions...they say they have the answers. One win at a time, starting with the first one, all you need is one point...they win tonight at home.
West Lincoln by 1

St. Stephens Bandys is BAD! I ran into some of the players after practice last week at Subway and asked them how they looking? Response: WE are BAD! So....

Maiden Who cares. I miss the good ole days when Maiden players actually grew up and lived in the area.

West Lincoln Should be a good game though. Always good to see NL lose.

Just got Mean Gene loaded back into his chair at home. He's got Marshall Dillon on relaxing.

Headed to Saint to watch the nephew play. I'll have Bandys updates tonight.
