Let's try and have a serious discussion about this considering the other thread will be locked soon. I'm actually intrigued by the thoughts of regions like other states have.

Pros
-Gives more scheduling flexibility
-Allows teams to move on from teams that they do not benefit from playing
-Allows teams like a North Stokes the ability to set up a schedule for success
-Potential for more big gate and marquis matchups

Cons
-May hurt weaker and smaller programs in scheduling

I'm sure there are more cons and I don't know the full details of how this works in other states.

Thanks Thunder! I do like how Tennessee does their regions for Playoffs. The 2 closest regions are paired together and they play through the regional section of playoffs. For example the 1st place team of Region 1 plays the 4th Place team in Region 2 in the first round. Same goes 1st Place Region 2 plays 4th Place Region 1 then the 2nd place teams play the 3rd place teams in each. I like it myself. Idk that you could make it work in NC or not though

This scenario is a lot like the old pod system that NC used years ago. In this proposal would you continue to play until the 1's would eventually meet in the 3rd round? If so it is exactly like the pods.

Not picking on them, but who is going to travel to N Stokes to play them unless you are looking for a win. I am sure there are N. Stokes spread throughout the state. This is where conference comes into play.

And first statement coming soon.

That's definitely a con which is an argument for conferences.

Of course if I'm an Elkin, Surry Central, South Stokes, West Wilkes, Alleghany, Bishop, Prep or Forbush, North Stokes is on my schedule.

North Stokes has been on Mount Airy's schedule since the 1960 except I think there was one year that they never fielded a football team. They did beat Mount Airy only one time since the 1960s and it was around 1995 but I may be wrong on the year.

If they use a plan such as Ga has then everyone is assigned a region. Then you are given a schedule which may include all or most of your region. Some regions are large enough to be subdivided. Teams can elect to play .a non-region schedule, but if they don't then they are not eligible for playoffs in that sport

Bingo??
What’d I win?
Sorry embracing the whole “old man” thing…
Now if y’all will excuse me I have to go run some people off my lawn…
You have won the chance to go to Mt Airy in about 2 weeks. Or maybe host Starmount.

Like I said I don't know the ins and outs but I thought with regions teams have the ability to set their own schedule essentially within the region.
