i've seen enough Shelby is going to lose this game, we just aren't there this year. i thought maybe we had time to click the last few weeks but clearly we were just playing tag football with lessor opponents.
Adding this weeks controversy with our starters doesn't help. Wilbanks you have quite the job on your hands going into this years playoffs.

So burns scores this last td..receiver spikes ball gets an unsportsmanlike..
Instead of backing them up to the 25, we decide to take the penalty on the kickoff, to which they go for two and easily get it.... Not sure what the thought process is there? Burns kicker probably had a 20% chance of making an extra point from 35 because he can barely make an extra point..... oh well

Wilbanks isnt a good coach. It's not 1987. He doesnt connect with these kids. I've said this all year and everytime people in shelby take up for him. I'll keep my comments to myself for the rest of the night.
I think that was the right call. Gives you a better shot at scoring before half.
I think Shelby looked better in the first couple game this year than now (KM and Crest) Burns looks good tho

I get it but in this situation and our inability to make a big play this game with who we have out, and with 17 seconds i just think its better to be down 12 instead of 14, but im a moron... ha ha....and easy to call stuff from the computer.... ha ha
Send Shelby isn’t giving up the big play but getting beat on methodical drives
Sometimes you get beat by the better team, and its happening in this game at the moment.. no shame in that... Proud of the fight....

If nothing else, tonight made both teams better as it was their first real test.

Congrats to the Bulldogs. The score doesn't speak to the dominant football y'all played tonight. I know one of our receivers missing tonight has the flu. Can't comment to any other players. Idk. Devine is a great coach.
Always great to beat a rival. Especially one who has a great tradition as Shelby does. I thought when Allen got ejected, that could be a turning point but everyone stepped up. Mauney made some big time throws when needed all night long. We had a few outstanding catches too. Defense played lights out. There were several drops by Shelby receivers that helped. There was no deep threat all night for Shelby and the run game was non existent as advertised. I feel bad for the high seed that draws Shelby in round 1. Good luck to the Lions the rest of the way. I hope we don't meet again. Lol. Hard to beat a team like that twice.
Congratulations to the Bulldogs on the win and excellent regular season. The Bulldogs have a great shot to bring a championship back to Cleveland County. It will be fun watching Shelby be road warriors in the playoffs.
The 3rd quarter was huge for Burns. Think we controlled right at 9 mins of the clock and really just wore Shelby's defense down. That was Burns best drive all season overall even though it stalled at the 7.
Yea I was questioning the call to go for it on 4th down there. We could have made that field goal. If we knew we were going for it on 4th down, we should have ran the ball on 3rd down. Like you said, that long drive had Shelby gassed.
Not that it matters much for next week. Was Allen ejected or disqualified?
Good win tonight for Burns… Had a good time this evening in Lawndale watching this one… Shelby had quite a few drops in 1st half that hurt but the TD right before half for Burns then the stop coming out of the half followed by the 9+ minute drive that took rest of 3rd quarter was the end of The Lions tonight.. Good Luck to both teams in playoffs

Allen was DQ not ejected. He will be able to play next week.
Burns played sloppy and I was hoping the ignorant reaction from Allen wouldn’t bite us. They wanted it and they earned it. Have to cut out the penalties for the playoffs though.
