Best Team In The State?

Here we go... Right now I have Myers Park 1 and Reidsville a close 2. If they played tomorrow, I think Reidsville is +4-5. As far as 2a goes, Reidsville 1. Farmville 2. If they played tomorrow....Reidsville-1.5. Everyone keeps talking about S Stokes. Haven't watched them. If the played tomorrow I'd be hard pressed not to lay 8. It is going to take a very talented, but even better coached team to beat Reidsville. Can they get beat, yes! Are you going to run them out of the gym...nope. They're I. Top 50 in the US. I'm curious to know how many teams above us are public, in a town less than 15k and led by 2 sophomores?
 
South Stokes is not in the same league as Reidsville. South split with Tabor, that should tell you everything you need to know.

Mt tabor is pretty good and can beat a lot of teams . It took their 2 football players few games to get going.

The two players from Burlington helped Reidsville quite a bit.

I would love to be able to go to the Reidsville vs Northwood playoff game. I don't know if Northwood can win but they should more prepared after the first game.

It definitely does seem like the rams are a consensus top 4 public school right now. Northwood vs FarmVille will be a dog fight. I wish s. Stokes was in 2a this season
 
Seems like the Rams have some good depth, that never gets used for some reason unless they are up big in the 4th

North Meck could be up there. Only 3 losses but they were out of State teams. They have won big over in State teams. Could be at least top 2 in 4A.

Agreed looking at their scores. They have destroyed most all of their in-state competition and out of state games have been close. I watched a few minutes on tv the other day of their game against Camden. College hoops fans will know that Camden has produced the Wagner family. Milt won a a national championship at Louisville and his grandson is currently playing for Kentucky.

Reidsville would get hammered by Myers Park, North Meck, Chambers, Central Cabarrus , etc. Don’t fool yourself because they beat up on 2A schools. Are they good, yes. Are they good enough to be considered a top program, yes. But they could not contend with the above mentioned. But one way to find out. Go play some Charlotte teams in nonconference. See where you stand if that is your position.

Well they did play canon. Weren’t you running your mouth last year and was wrong?? Canon beat chambers and is considered a top private school 😂😂

It’s crazy to me to say that the school that won the John Wall hasn’t proven themselves. But some people think Charlotte is the center of the basketball universe. Two years ago he went on and on saying Hayesville would never be competitive in the playoffs unless they played some Charlotte schools…then they won state.

Side note: cameras caught some folks in Reidsville gear sitting right behind Hubert at the UNC-Wake game last night.

I was going to make a joke that the Rams don't matchup well with the Tar Heels. Btw, did anyone see the ages of the starters of this Tar Heel squad when they played Boston College? BYU would be proud.

I remember last year him saying Reidsville wouldn't beat his Lincoln Charter and that Reidsville was the preferred match up for most of the west 2a.

I've always said and will continue to say that if mountain teams want to see how good they are then go play someone. I've never said anything about Hayesville other than the truth. Same holds true for teams like Reidsville, Kinston, Farmville, New Hanover. As good as they think they are, venture out and go play the best. I’m sure Central Cabarrus would play. I would love to see some of those matchups as I think it would be good for the game of basketball. I only said, I would rather play 2 freshmen than any other team. Never said they would lose I simply said LCS wasn’t going into game thinking they were going to lose. Those 2 freshmen turned out to be really good and talented way beyond their years. I think they will steamroll the 2A division again but only saying I wish they would go play and prove their program vs other stout programs.

I will say I think Lincoln charter is a sleeper this season. I see what you’re saying, but I do think
Reidsville played a much tougher schedule than they did last year. Canon is a Charlotte area team, I do wish we could have played another one as well

Reidsville schedule this year was way tougher than last years. This group will have been battle tested for sure.

South Stokes is absolutely in the same league as Reidsville! After watching Reidsville struggle to beat West Stokes and South Stokes blew out West, not once, but twice, I believe the Sauras could and would beat them. Box and one on the Reidsville PG to limit him as much as possible (IMO - best player on the Rams team) and box out big man on the boards. I don't understand why Reidsville doesn't run their offense through him, all of his points are mop up points on the offensive boards and putbacks. Again, JMO, but I believe the folks from Game of Inches and HighSchoolOT would agree...

Yes, let’s just talk about that one game and not the other 15 or 16 games. If we are pointing out close games, what about south stokes vs surry central being a 3 point game??

South and Reidsville have few players that are hard to match-up with. It would be hard to keep Harrison in check inside. Sharp would probably be the difference maker in that game. For South Lash and Barry Harriston put pressure on a defense. Barry is quick good ball handler and plays bigger than 6'1. My money is on Barry Hairston in the dunk contest

Based on the games ive seen its hard to run your offense through the big man Harrison when MOST of their opponents sit back in a 2-3 zone and clog the middle against him, sad that these coaches wont play man to man, not helping their players get to the next level at all...

the lack of football pics bother me the most....early 2000 teams and 2007...but no 2008, 2009....2016, 2018, 2019, 2020-21, 2024................they should dig up a photo of the 1973 basketball team...if nothing else from a yearbook and have that blown up and hung...................................
 
in the west the team Reidsville really needs to worry about is Salisbury.............they faced Reidsville last year in the west regional semi-final...........Rams winning.................

It would be interesting to watch for sure. I watched them against East Surry last week and they didn't play that well. Hairston had 44 and a tough match-up for anyone. State champion in the high jump. The way the fans are at South and Reidsville I'm not sure they would be able to finish a game if they played lol

When south played Eastern Randolph last year in the playoffs they had too many in the gym. No room behind one basket. Game got stopped for about 20 minutes and several got escorted out.
