2022 3A Boys Basketball Thread

I went back to see how the west side did for the boys in 3A last season. West Charlotte defeated Central Cabarrus 84-75 in the Semis. West Charlotte went on to win the 3A State Championship game. I’m curious to see if these two teams will have another deep run. Central Cabarrus is 2-0 and showing promise. West Charlotte is 2-1 with a lost to Oak Hill Academy. Another interesting season of basketball.

12/6 East Lincoln 3-0 will be at South Iredell 2-3 at 7:30 in boys game. I’m curious to see how East Lincoln will do. They are undefeated as of now.

Crest beats Hunter Huss 65-62.

Briscoe hit a layup to put Crest up by 3 with just a few seconds left. Huss misses 3 at the buzzer.

Crest has a 30 game winning streak in Big South play.

Kings Mountain 50 Ashbrool 48

FR Bradley Floyd hit a shot with 5 seconds left to take the lead in this back and forth game.

KM stole the inbounds pass to secure the win.

The Big South Conference is going to be fun to watch this year.

Central Cabarrus rolled Concord in the boys game 85-38. I’m keeping a watch on this team. They are a force to be reckoned with.

Has anyone seen the Floyd kid? I heard he hit 37 last night. Just a freshman I believe.

Crest 75 Ashbrook 55. This was a 1 point game in the third and Crest took over. Crest goes from defense to offense at an incredible rate of speed. Crest is very tough to press. One series last night saw Crest break Ash press and the ball never touched the court. I think the official number is 34 straight Big South wins for Crest.

Ashbrook has to be the most talented winless team in the state. They are good but have played a brutal schedule to start the year.

Shelby 74 Crest 64

Jakeith Hamilton did a great job getting it into the paint and kicking it out for jump shots. Great game plan by Shelby. Shelby with 2 good back 2 back wins over Crest and KM. Gym at Shelby was hot, packed, and loud. Awesome atmosphere.
