2017 Realignment

With the new 20-30-30-20 model coming in after next football season, I sat down and tried my best to figure it out. This is my best guess on the new 3A line and what schools will be joining and leaving 3A.... The new 3A line will be about 1,046-1,575 students, with Mooresville being the highest, and White Oak being the lowest.

Congrats to SWO Jimmy Taylor

Jimmy Taylor makes pledge to VT. They are getting not only a good player, but a high character kid. No games, no fake yes sir no sir. Had a chance to talk to him today and his first words where not about VT football, but VT meeting his academic goals, man that is so good to hear out of a kid. My understanding he should be on campus 2nd semester and getting a head start on school and football. True student athlete.

Reactions: Slasher Killer

Eastern v Orange scrimmage Friday 8-15 7pm

DonaldTrumpMo' and 'JohnJebKirbey' decided to half a debate,
Both said it would make mucho money, till 'JebKirbey'made off with the gate,
'DonMo' said 'Hey you act just like Hillary' and 'JebK' said man thats just wrong,
Lets settle this on the mid field stage, singing Elvis Pressley songs,

'DonMo' started off with, 'You Aint Nothing But A Hound Dog Crying All The Time',
'JebK' countered with we play good 3A teams, 'You Are (not) Always On My Mind',
'DonMo' said, 'Refs make you do the ''Bosa Nova Baby'', try that on fer size,
'JebK' strummed it to the tune,' You are the Devil in (Orange Panther) Disguise,

'DonMo' crooned I cried and sighed, 'The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face',
'A Jack To A King' 'JebK' sings because great players you stole from my place,
'DonMo' bleated, 'That Hard Headed Woman' I'm glad I didnt marry your sister,
'JebK' called we'd a buried you, 'Neath the Green Green Grass of Home' there mister,

'DonMo' finished up by sanging, 'The Last Farewell' I'll soon be retired,
'JebK' tuned 'Let Me Be The One' to give ya a job after you get fired ,
'DonMo' left the stage strumming, ' I did It My Way', walking under the goal post arch,
'JebK' struck up Eastern's band loudly playing, 'The Mickey Mouse Club March'...

Anybody else excited?

Hey fellow friends! What a long offseason it seemed to have been, but is anyone else just about peeing their pants as these last few days roll around? I know I am. I'll admit....after the way we (SouthWest Edgecombe) got shown the door last season at the hands of Northeastern, I shut the lights off. I took my ball and went home. I didn't even log on to read the post game comments. We didn't offer them a good game and I had no good comments to offer. But we had a darn good season that 3/4 of the state's teams would love to have. We just got a solid butt whooping by a better team. Although we lost a back that gave us 2,500 yds to graduation, we do return a 1,000 yd rusher, and what's even more exciting to me is the fact that my dear nephew has joined the squad. He is a senior running back that has transferred from 4A Grimsley, and boy is he quick! As if I really needed another reason to cheer my Cougars on.....
I'm also excited about a revamped schedule. Routinely, our nonconference schedule consists of county foes Tarboro and North Edgecombe (both 1A), Greene Central (2A), Southern Nash (3A), and Rocky Mount (3A). This year, GC, SN, and RM have been replaced by Nash Central (3A), Bertie(2A), South Central (4A), and we also open on the road at Holmes (2A). Talk about jumping straight into the fire! That's gonna be a tough opener. But I think it's fun to play different teams ever so often instead of the same rotation year after year after year. County opponents and rivals, sure. But I love mixing it up. Are there any other teams that have a new, revamped schedule this year?
Well, I look forward to the start of a new season and to many conversations, debates, stories of your games, chatting with old friends, making new friends, and everything else that goes on here. I hope your team has a healthy and win filled season! Sooo excited!

I don't always cheer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Cougars. SWE'98
