SP vs. HH

Let's don't pretend it doesn't mean anything to everybody in the Big South. The whole world is hoping and wishing HH beats SP tonight.
Every little six year Charger with those 8 teeth in his head and his dad with almost as many teeth as Junior are wishing upon a star that HH can do some business tonight. Baby Hewey and others can't wait. They had that help last year, and made their year. Ashbrook's follower is excited as well. Probably got that same officiating crew that worked that HH game last year and this year's Ashbrook game with their money on HH, too, I bet. Those that live in Gaston County and go to Kings Mountain will be there I'm sure...skipping that other game, and pulling for their neighbors playing in Columbia blue. Shutdown will be late to the game due to getting his back of the neck acne keloids treated.

Come on HH - don't let those Red helmets turn the conference blue. Some people got their rent on the line. Come get you a mess.

Lexington?

Looks like Lexington is coming down to Marshville to play Forest Hills in a battle of the Yellow Jackets. Can anyone tell me anything about them? We have one common opponent North Rowan. We pretty much handled North Rowan 33-8 Lexington only beat them by one point 34-33. Appreciate any info.

Need help from NCPreps

GAME OF THE WEEK

MY PICKS (38-10 Season)
(27)North Lenoir 4-6 @ (6)Ayden-Grifton 6-4
North Lenoir had one of their best seasons in years, and they had a big win over co-conference champs Wallace Rose Hill. Can or will the team that defeated the Bulldogs show up again! I don’t think so. AG 43 NL 6

(19)Kinston 6-4 @ (14)South Columbus 8-2
Both of these teams have had a great season, but one has to end here. The key to this game will be if the Vikings can stop the run, and can the Stallions cover the pass. I'm going with Kinston in this one. K 28 SC 20

(21)Roanoke Rapids 6-4 @ (12)James Kenan 9-1
The Yellow Jackets comes into Warsaw to face an Tigers 🐅 team with a bad taste in their mouths from the lost to the Bulldogs. I think the Tigers 🐅 gets back on track and run through the Jackets. JK 42 RR 6

(29)Washington 4-6 @ (4)Wallace Rose Hill 7-3
The Pam Pack found some success later in the season, and put together some impressive wins. The Bulldogs once again proved all their naysayers wrong, and finish the regular season playing their best ball of the season. The dogs 🐕 will continue to roll in this one. Wrh 38 W 0

GAME OF THE WEEK
(25)EAST DUPLIN 5-5 @ (8)ST. PAUL’S 8-2
This has to be the best game slated for a first round match up. I don't think neither team would want a difficult first round opponent as this. The Bulldogs has been on a roll heading into the playoffs, and they have a running qb that has caused trouble for the Panthers this season. What happens when two great coaching staffs collide, who comes up with the best game plan for this one! St.P 31 ED 21

Good luck to all of the ECC!!

North Carolina Playoffs, Round 1

OK. It's finally here. Playoffs. Unfortunately, Week 1 is a lot of yawns and blowouts as too many teams that have no business in a playoff get one more game. Bottom line, it is money week for the NCHSAA. I appreciate and respect the job this organization does, but this is about an extra week of revenue. The true playoffs don't start until Week 2 once the pretenders have been weeded out. A little harsh but also reality. Hopefully, all teams stay healthy for when it gets real.

Rocky River 3A/2A Playoffs Round 1

2A Playoffs:

#30 T.W. Andrews @ #3 Monroe

#20 Lexington @ #13 Forest Hills

#24 Anson Co. @ #9 Brevard

3A Playoffs:

#32 Parkwood @ #1 Erwin

Andrews @ Monroe:
Monroe shouldn't have any problems with Andrews. Not sure what's happened to Andrews because I remember when they use to be a state power. Probably a running clock in this one.

Lexington @ Forest Hills:
Hopefully Forest Hills plays a little better than they did against Anson Co. FH still won 25-8 but there were way too many penalties mostly in the second half which kept Anson in the game way too long. Depending on which FH team shows up against Lexington it could be close or a blowout.

Anson Co. @ Brevard:
Anson Co. is not a bad team if they get their star RB back. He was hurt mid-way through the FH game two weeks ago. He is a beast with speed and hard to bring down. Anson always has athletes but they're never consistent. If the RB is back Anson could hang around awhile in this one.

3A Parkwood @ Erwin:
Not much too say about this one. Won't be close and probably a running clock. FH and Monroe crushed Parkwood a combined 105-13 towards the end of the conference season. Parkwood is only in because they won the 3A part of the RRC conference which consists of two 3A teams and the other team Piedmont is worse. 😆

Round 1: Alexander Central at Mooresville

Old NPC foes match up in the playoffs.

Alexander has a decent team w/ some good talent in spots but depth and OL have been the issue for the Cougars. Alexander Central will be disciplined and They will try do ball control but they have the ability to pass.

Mooresville: Can’t over look AC and can’t make mistakes. Fundamentals tackling and defense will be key. Mooresville is more talented than AC but must play like it! Can’t turn the ball over and penalties have been somewhat of a issue

7-3 is Mooresville over AC since 2004. Last time they played was 2016.

NCHSAA Football Playoffs Seeding Process

After reading the NCHSAA bylaws for seedings in the playoffs, I believe the NCHSAA needs clarifying language or improvements on three parts of the seeding process. The three points of clarification that I believe that the NCHSAA needs to make or fix are related to co- conference champions, undefeated top seeds, and seeds awarded to split conference playoff teams. (1) When a conference has a co-champion the co-champion that is not seeded as the conference champ for playoff purposes should always be seeded ahead of teams that it finished in front of in their conference and also teams that did not win or share their conference titles. (For example a co-conference champion should be seeded higher than a third place team in their conference and any other team that did not win or share a conference title irregardless of rpi).
(2) Undefeated conference champions should be seeded higher than conference champions that are not undefeated. For example in the 3A West teams like Hickory, Dudley, Robinson, should be seeded higher than one loss teams like South Point and Erwin.
(3) teams from split conferences should be seeded as conference champions ONLY if those teams win their overall conference championship. Those split conference who do not win their overall conference should be seeded by rpi after conference champions AND co-conference champions are seeded. We have too many teams that only has to beat one or two teams in their split conference that are awarded conference champion seedings.
Just three common sense solutions that I think needs to be clarified and have language addressing these circumstances in the bylaws.
