Burns at Shelby

Dear god.The fact that there has not been a thread created for this says it all. There was a time when this thread would create pages of nothing but great trash talk. If it makes it to two pages I will be surprised. No clue who the qb will be. I heard at Jans that there is a lot of tension around that subject.

Crest @ Kings Mountain

I think this will be a great game compared to our last 5. Kings Mountain is much improved from last year, and if Crest comes out uninterested as they did against Chase, then Kings Mountain could upset the Chargers. While I don't believe that will be the case, Crest does not need to sleep on the Mountaineers. I want to see the defense completely shut down KM offense, easier said than done. Much respect for KM, we have the longest winning streak among the county schools against KM, but it has not always been easy to keep that streak alive.

I hope for an exciting game, but injury free for both teams. I think KM has a good chance to make a run in the playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised if Crest saw KM again this year.

No prediction yet from me.

Game balls for Richmond vs Hoke

My 3 game balls go to #1 game ball - Running Back #23 ...Scored 3 td's ,over 100 yards rushing and 50 or so recieving....Great way to start the Conference season...........#2 game ball to #93 defensive Lineman, looks to be getting better each week..... .......#3 game ball to # 1 on the punt return, I think maybe his 3rd or fourth of the season............I see this team improving each week.....Got to throw in something about #35, all over the field as usual.....If this team stays healthy , I really think they can make a run at the FINAL PRIZE.....Only time will tell....nuff said....

#7 SW Edgecombe 42 North Pitt 0

The Cougar defense flexed its muscle tonight, only allowing the NP Panthers into the redzone once as the shut out the host by the score of 42-0. After allowing offenses to score only 6 points each in the last two contests, SWE came out of its bye week sluggish but efficient against the 2-4 conference foes. It was a great tune up for next week's pivotal matchup against Washington. Since this version of the Eastern Plains Conference's inception, Washington has yet to taste defeat within the league. SWE must win this game to have any chance of being conference champions, because Washington handled the other threat in the league tonight, Farmville Central. Washington will have a smooth road after their game against us, so if they win next week, a loss isn't foreseeable. The conference championship is on the line in the second week of league play. As for tonight's game vs NP, it was was expected. I'm just glad the D finally got that elusive egg. And let me tell you, having Quontellis Norwood back out there, playing and contributing to two huge receptions, meant the world to every Cougar family member out there. This guy got shot in the neck after week 2 and nobody thought he would play again. No matter what the scoreboard said, THAT was a win for SouthWest.

Mooresville 55 W Iredell 6

Mooresville had the luxury of pulling their starting offense in the second quarter after jumping out to a 34-0 lead. They were also able to rest some key defensive players for the entire game. Some JV players were given ample playing time tonight as well. S Iredell comes to town next Friday. At last check they were leading Lake Norman by 14 points late in the game.

Interview: Cooper Wall- Davie County Football Team (WR)

Cooper Wall is a Wide Receiver for the War Eagles of Davie County HS located in Mocksville, NC. He finished last Friday's game versus West Forsyth High School with 9 catches for 109 yards and one touchdown. Access Radio covered the game from the Davie County sideline. Although Davie County took a tough loss that night, I was amazed by this kid's never say die attitude. Cooper played 100% from whistle to whistle. When times got tough, he still continued to fight the good fight never giving up. I am very excited for this interview, and can't wait to hear what this young man has to say.

South Iredell (6-1, 3-0) at Mooresville (5-2, 3-0)

Lots of hype surrounding this game. The Vikings come in with a good and emotional win over rival Lake Norman. Mooresville comes in with a win over West Iredell. Both teams losses have been to very good competition- South Iredells loss in week one to Reagan (4A) and Mooresville's losses both on the road at Hough (14-10 loss) and at AL Brown (23-9). Both those losses look a lot better after this past week (not that they looked bad to begin with).

I havent seen South Iredell this year- but Seems as if rb #22 Tyree Hallman is a big part of their offense. He has had some huge ganes this year, we will definitely need to be able to bottle him up at the LOS. I know SI likes to get their playmakers outside in space- i dont think they go deep a ton- but screens, slants etc... And letting their guys make the plays. Defensively South is very disciplined, as youd expect from a Coach Miller team. We will have to execute very well if we want to win this game.

As for us- we might be the biggest team South has seen this year (in size). Especially our oline. Im sure we will try to wear them down with the power run game. We were missing a number of key starters last week, not sure their status for this week

What do you guys think on this one? If you attend, get there super early. Expecting a massive crowd- and there is limited parking by the field due to construction.

Scotland @ New Hanover

Scotland 4-0 @ New Hanover 2-1
Scotland begins a month long road trip away from Pate Stadium
in Wilmington on the turf at Legion Field and for once in appears
no Hurricane will be off the coast. Scots coming off 2 close wins
and NH an off week after a loss to Havelock. Ill be heading down a
day early for the festivities and a loooong weekend at the coast.(Holden Beach)
Thoughts, opinions, predictions????
Scots put things together this week with Deshaun his second week back and
Zamir breaking loose. Scotswin.....

The Beatdown: 10/16/2015. Catholic at South Mecklenburg

South Meck is like Dorothy in Wizard of Oz watching the sand fall through the hourglass crying for help because there's nothing she can do alone. Too bad there won't be a scarecrow or tin man to save you Friday. Get ready for a serious reality check.

I understand the singular importance of a QB to any HS team's overall health but a school like South Meck with the ridiculously high student body they possess should have been able to adjust. West Meck isn't average, they're a joke.

Unfortunately for Sabre lovers, best Catholic team in ten years. Sorry Charlie. South will feel it Friday like they always do. Keep your spray paint to yourselves this time as well or we might have to tag that joke rock and student parking with a special message after we beat your putty Knives into a bowl of oatmeal on your field then walk off it with our cheerleaders AND yours!! Remember, cheerleaders like winners AND men. I'm surprised SM have any left at all.

Post that in your locker room for motivation CHUMPS. Won't make any difference. 6-2 Saturday morning. That's all you've got coming Friday night.
