SWE forces NJ into 7 turnovers, including 5 lost fumbles, as they roll in an important Eastern Plains Conference battle to keep hopes of a title alive. SWE kicked the ball off to start the game, and the returner slipped and fell before the ball comes down, and it is recovered by SWE at the NJ 20 for the longest onside kick I've ever seen. lol. Three plays later, Marcus Williams takes it in, and SWE leads 7-0 a mere 45 seconds into the game. Later in the quarter, SWE connects on a 1 play, 82 yard pass and catch to the tight end Q. Norwood (player that got shot earlier this season) to up the lead to 21-0. SWE gets a 55yd touchdown run by K. Page to take a 35-0 lead into the locker room. SWE then plays reserves for much of the second half, tacking on two more tds in the process to win the game by the final score of 49-0. It was a very good defensive effort by a defense that had started to question itself. However, NJ's offense isn't very strong, scoring only 20 points in the last 5 games. So I don't know how much stock should be put into this one. But a shut out is a shut out, and we will take it. Next week's game vs surprising Beddingfield determines the conference championship. We win and Washington loses, then we are sole champs. We lose, then Beddingfield is sole champ. We win and Washington wins, then all three are co-champs. Washington's win is almost a lock, as they play this very same NJ squad. So it's win or bust next week for us next week.
SWE 21 14 7 7 = 49
NJ 0 0 0 0 = 0
