Since we are a week away from week 1 of the season. How does everyone feel regarding their team after scrimmages? What are some areas of concern and some things you saw that were good?

What’s the word on them? Last yr they were overly talked about but ended up at 4-7 in a tough conference- There coach is a good guy I got to interview him last season - I think they didn’t put everything together every game last yr

Will they be better this yr? Mooresville travels to Reagan this year

Are there any rules against teams fighting while scrimmaging other teams? Wilson Prep and JH Rose just had a multiple player altercation at the Tarboro jamboree this evening.

5pm - Erwin vs Hendersonville

7pm - TC Roberson vs Robbinsville
8pm - AC Reynolds vs Murphy

Aug 16 Jamboree teams involved

Interesting matchup would be Gaffney n Independence

Another month from today 8/23 HS football games will start. Want be long until 1st day of practice, then scrimmages, then the regular season. Then the playoffs
I’m ready for the season to start.

My outlook for some of top teams for each class

4A Weddington, Grimsley, Butler, Hough
3A Hickory, Dudley, 71st, AC Reynolds, Crest, Kings Mountain
2A Reidsville, Shelby
1A Tarboro, Mt Airy

Anyone is welcome to put your thoughts on your top teams for each class.

This will be the last year of NC Preps as we know it as the 1A Boards will probably not exist next year.
So many teams across the State will be in a different division 1A through 8A! A lot of split conference so
will be a lot of bouncing around on here to talk football. Will be weird im so use to the 1A board and its member's.
Also the NCHSAA may very well not exist ant longer as big Government will take over and i'm not sure Q Tucker and the rest will agree to the terms to stay! I think big change is coming and it will be a mess!

Here some info I found on some scrimmages going on for this Friday

West Rowan, Mt Pleasant and Parkwood will be at West Cabarrus this Friday
Bishop McGuiness, Lake Norman Charter and West Davidson will be at South Rowan this at Friday at 6
North Rowan will be at Concord this Friday at 6:30

3. You must play every week to qualify for prizes.

4. There will be 10 games each week from various classes and areas of the state plus a bonus game. Games cancelled will not count.

5. Each game is worth 1 point while the bonus game will be worth 2 points.

6. **NEW** NCPreps’ Big Bonus will be worth 4 extra points if participants can pick one of the state champions before the season kicks off. On the first week of the contest, participants list one team they think will win the state championship. It can’t be from any class but you can only pick one team.

7. The winners will be announced after the 2024 state championship games.

8. Prizes:
First place: $100
Second place: $50
Third place: $25

ijones & scotswin are regular season winners = $25 bonus will split ($ 12.50)

Anyone seen/heard anything about Lumberton this year? New coach so I was wondering how things have gone so far, scrimmage updates?

Anyone know whats going on, Coach Hayes was just about to start his 2nd year there after coming over from Thomasville being an assistant coach. He will stay on as a PE teacher there at PG

Wonder fans, next Friday evening at 6:00 PM, the Wonders will be hosting the Mounties from Kings Mountain and the Bulldogs from J.M. Robinson High in a controlled scrimmage at Kannapolis Memorial Stadium. The Wonders and Mounties have a short, but very intense history dating back to the Western Regional Finals in 1997.

The Wonders and Bulldogs also share a reasonably good history, having played contest that would decide SPC championships twice since 2017.

It's always special to have the Mounties and their fans come to our place, and next Friday a traditionally strong program from Kings Mountain that has been on the edge of State 3A title games over the last four years will come to Kannapolis for gridiron combat.

An equally strong Robinson Bulldog team who were District Championship losers last year to Dudley will grace our field as well. It should be a good gage for where the 2024 Wonders stand this early in the pre season.

Looking forward to a relaxing night in the stands watching these three programs dook it out!! Go Wonders!! -The editor
