Richmond VS Clayton Round 2

The season started out blaming Richmond coach for his arrival and the game plan. Richmond's fan barely knew him and the blame begun. The fans begun with statements that Richmond would never make it this year because of the hired coach and the formation he planned to run.

It seems that the narrative around coaches often swings dramatically based on immediate results. Initially, it’s easy for fans to criticize a coach without fully understanding the complexities of their role, including the challenges of team dynamics, injuries, and the pressure of high expectations. When the team begins to win, as Richmond has, the atmosphere shifts. Fans rally behind the coach, celebrating the victories and attributing the success to their leadership. The moment the results waver, the same fans who once praised him can quickly turn to doubt and criticism. It's interesting to consider the psychology behind this. Fans are often emotionally invested in their teams, and the highs and lows of a season can lead to extreme reactions.

The pressure in playoff situations can be immense, and once a team hits a rough patch, all the praise can quickly shift to blame. It’s almost as if the narrative shifts entirely based on one or two games, Richmond fans quickly begin overlooking the hard work and strategic planning that went into the entire Richmond coaching staff season. As Richmond fans or any fan base, it’s essential to recognize that coaching is a multifaceted job that requires consistent effort and adaptability, especially under pressure.
Your second sentence says "Richmond fans barely knew him". You do realize he is a former QB for Richmond 97 and 98 State champion?? Former assistant coach. You might want to research also I don't know anyone that was upset about hiring him just the opposite.

East Rutherford at Reidsville - Round 2

We have said this for years.

Reidsville piled up many previous championships without having to play other greats in the state within their classification.
They avoided them by either membership in a rival association, or by sub classification where 50% of same size schools in the state were dodged.
Did they play and win against what was placed in front of them by others?
Of course they did.
But they have never proven or established themselves as the self proclaimed “capitol (sic)” of anything.
Reidsville went 31 consecutive recent years without a title or even a title game appearance.

So what has happened in these four years where the classes had unified titles and Reidsville had to play in a format that included ALL similar sized schools in the state.

1 for 4.

And with Shelby winning its fourth unified title as Reidsville won its first during this period.

Without question, the 2023 Reidsville squad was a super team, probably the best across all classes. We acknowledge greatness.
But you are not the “capitol (sic)” of anything.

And tonight you lose in the second round to East Rutherford.
It should be noted, that outside of our consistently winning 3 Cleveland County rivals, East Rutherford is geographically the next closest NC high school to Shelby.
We have played them forever, mostly as conference opponents.
We are not surprised they beat you tonight.
You play nobody in conference or out, and get rewarded with another #1 seed.
You benefit enormously from the weakness of teams in your area.

Another point.
We challenged years ago whether Reidsville’s recent resurgent success would continue beyond Coach Teague Sr’s tenure.
Will history show he was the dominant factor and the program will suffer significantly with his departure.
By comparison, the Shelby program has enjoyed multiple titles under each of the 5 recent head coaches, going all the way back to 1955.
That is a program DYNASTY.
No gaps, no let ups.
Can Teague Jr do it? Can his successor?
Still a lot to prove before talking the capitol nonsense.

Finally, a significant number of the current Golden Lion squad did not celebrate your loss tonight.
They wanted the shot at you this year as repayment for last year’s defeat.
And we are now all aware that realignment has conveniently placed Reidsville safely away from any rematches with Shelby for the next four years. By one spot.
Essentially, the realignment is nothing more than a reset of the subclasses where 3 of your titles were opposite of 3 of Shelby’s, and Shelby clearly was dominant.
It continues to pay off for Reidsville’s own Que Tucker to head the association and subtly assist “ her team”.

So while it is easy enough for us to prove your self proclaimed claim is bogus….
It’s much better to watch you prove it for us.

The Shelby Golden Lions.
The True Dynasty.
The most successful, sustained, winningest high school football program in North Carolina.

Richmond VS Clayton Round 2

24-13 THE RAIDERS 💛 💛 Game really wasn't that close. We should have won by more.

Great win for the Raiders! They were determined to win, even though they had more than 12 penalties, four turnovers, two TDs called back, a missed short FG, and turned the ball over on their 15-yard line. Officiating was a big distraction because of so many penalties and numerous long discussions between officials after a flag was thrown. It was worth the drive from Raleigh to see my Raiders play!!

Chance Crowder IS the real deal!!
Go Raiders!!

You Boys Out East Dont Feel Too Comfortable...

Chopper has been trying to interject in some of these eastern game threads and has basically been ignored. Otis is the first to breakdown. He was at the ignore
Chopper meeting last spring- I guess he forgot the rule! 😀
Nah it’s all good. I love Choppers replies and his humor.

Independence at Hough and Mallard Creek and Watauga are tough Second Round matchups for sure

I went to get a Christmas tree up just into Ashe Co. just to show you big temperature difference. I stopped in Wilkesboro before going up the mountain on Hwy 16 to get a tree. Temperature wasn’t bad in Wilkesboro. But as I got toward the top it was blustery and cold. It will be even colder this evening up in Watauga. Dress warm if you’re going to the game.

Ashbrook at South Point II (the rematch)

Don’t use my jokes on you and your people against me. Be better than that. I can’t even call you a clown…because at least a clown has a job. I also don’t want to insult your sister by reminding everyone that you live in her basement, because I don’t want to ruin my Tuesday night thing… so I will keep it positive.
Maybe y’all will get A new student from West Virginia or Haiti to displace a boiling springs kids starting spot and help prepare for Hickory this week. I will put a dollar in a mustard jar for the new weight room and in honor of that new transfer y’all got coming this week.
You’re trying way too hard Diddy.
