Week 6 Picks.. Tropical Madness Edition!

I have often wondered as many times as that field has flooded why they don't build a new football field on higher ground or why the state does as they did in Mount Airy after the 1979 flood, they had the army engineers come in and widen the river banks by about 3 times that caused all the damage. Riverside Park still floods on occasion. They could ask for the turf field money and build a barrier blocking the water away from the field. I hate it for them, this could end their season.

Havelock @ Valhalla (Tarboro)

Exactly what I thought may happen. Hard for anyone to go both ways for the entire game, let alone majority. It shows the difference between 1A vs 3A state champs/contenders.
Absolutely! They have a few d1 guys, and we’ve got six guys going both ways the whole game, they just wore us out. If we capitalize on their turnovers and not turn the ball over ourselves in that third qtr and it’s a different game

SW Edgecombe 3-2 @ Greene Central 3-2

Defense played fabulously, even though 22 shows up on the scoreboard. GC got 16 points from a KOR and a short 30 yard field following SWE turnover. They only gave up 6 earned points. The offense came to life in the second half for 28 strong points on the ground and through the air. Tough, tough test vs North Pitt and their dual threat QB next week.

RAIN

Also I remember back I believe in November of 1977 that it came a real bad rain that it crack part of watershed up head waters of Reems Creek rd in Weaverville. Water got out of the creek and up in my great aunt house she was living in at the time. They had to move out. It was bad. They even found big trout laying out in field close to the house.
