Dearest Mt. Airy, Eastern Randolph and Mt. Heritage folks

Shelby Lion, but sure if you know about Buzz and TD Friday night but I think Yall will have some fun together over the next 4 years. Will be fun to watch
Looking forward to the back and forth...

Mr Kidd gets a 4 out of 10 so far... He makes me laugh, more of an at him than with him so far laugh, but I do like his style.. ha ha....

My Version of Realignment Conferences

ETA based on a normal driving conditions in a car, not on an activity bus that can only travel up to 55 MPH
SD to WSP: 50 minutes (1h 40m round trip)
SD to NS: 1h 22m (2h 44m round trip)
SD to BM: 47m (1h 34m round trip)
SD to SS: 1h 12m (2h 24m round trip)
SD to Elkin: 1h 26m (2h 52m round trip)
SD to Starmount: 1h 17m (2h 34m round trip)

That's a lot of travel one way and round trip. For football it wouldn't be as bad as it would be for volleyball, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball. Imagine if the basketball team has to play at South Stokes on Tuesday and at Elkin on Thursday. That's roughly 6 hours spent on a bus.

SD is tough to project because they're an outlier. Too small to fit with the Davidson County schools and too remote to fit with the schools their size.
And yet we have no problems putting Rosman in with schools where they have bus rides longer than any of those above (it's more than two hours between Rosman and Draughn right now and it would be even longer if they go back in with Murphy). Outliers suck, but in the new model it's either put them in with similar schools relatively far away or create conferences of three (or more) classifications. Schools here in the west have to deal with those kinds of travel times, so I see no reason why schools in other parts of the state shouldn't.

Frankly, we could schedule more non-revenue sports (revenue sports being mainly basketball and football), so that games start around six (or earlier) and kids get home at a more reasonable hour. Even with revenue sports starting at seven or eight those travel times gets kids home around eleven about eight or nine times a year. That's not ideal, but most of those will be on Fridays, so not a school night. About the worst you can say is that basketball players get home around 11 three or four times a year on a school night if they ride the bus with those times. At Freedom that's something we have to deal with playing Watauga and Ashe, so I don't have much sympathy for anyone else.

The Rematch Whiteville at Northeastern

Idk I think Monroe might be legit this year they held Shelby to 23, the lowest they scored all year when facing a 2A team. Then they scored 41 on them being the second most Shelby allowed all season and the first most allowed by a 2A team. And Monroe has only let up 111 points in 13 games which is the craziest stat I’ve seen. That’s about a td and a 2 pt conversion a game! I’m not sure exactly how good Monroe is considering im going off almost just stats and a few instagram highlights, but you don’t only allow 111 while scoring 667 if you’re not good. Thats abt 8 pts a game allowed on avg and 51 pts scored a game on avg😮‍💨😮‍💨
I watched their Shelby game. They are good indeed. Got to be to still be in it. Funny what a week can do. Last week at this time was how great JK was and NE hadn’t played anyone. Now NE is still going and you guys are praying they lose instead of supporting the East! It’s comical. I got news for you. Monroe beating NE ain’t going to help you sleep any better.

Fake Schools

But there are options and you are proving that by sending your kids to a private school. You're trying to play both sides of the coin by saying "I shouldn’t have to pay taxes for you only if I want my kid to go elsewhere" but what about the same reasoning for an individual who doesn't want their tax dollars to be spent on non-traditional schools not governed by their local elected board? Again, there is no one-size-fits-all solution hence why it's really important to keep funding within the system and oversight given at the local elected level. That is where you have the most control, not by allowing Raleigh to alter the structure of education at the local level. If you have a problem with what's being done in the schools then vote, especially at the local level. Many school boards are likely becoming or have already become a partisan body.
Not in Buncombe county. You don’t have that problem in Henderson. I do vote on that. This is a blue county from Asheville city all the way down

Grizz, first thank you for all the hard work. Can’t imagine doing that. And I really appreciate the need for limited travel time. With the gate, especially football, critical to the financial aspect of athletics, that’s really important.
Having said that, I really hope there aren’t any split three class conferences and hope even more there aren’t any with four. I can’t think of any way to create a fair playoff format with that. And it seems to me that would mostly negate the reason for going to eight classifications.

But maybe that’s just me.
I think the most should be two, for the sake of fairness. Also this allows rival schools who got split up in classification to still play a rivalry game with more meaning to it than just a non conference game. Atleast that would be the case for schools that got split from like 3a to 4a if it’s one 3a and the rival is moved to 6a I think it’s best to just be shit out of luck and play it non conference

Bill Belichick to UNC

I think this is relatively recent. There is no way that Cunningham is only talking to Belichick.

https://keepingitheel.com/a-new-name-gets-thrown-into-the-unc-football-head-coach-search
It was last week. Since then, BB and UNC have had several conversations, including a 5 hr conversation. Belichick said himself he’s spoken with the chancellor and never mentioned Bubba. Bubba doesn’t have the pull that most AD’s are supposed to have. Just like many articles are stating, UNC has “too many cooks in the kitchen”. Chancellor, AD, Board of trustees etc.

4A Lake Norman girls basketball 24/25

No disrespect to South Meck they are a very good team ranked 25 in the state prior to the game. LKN dismantled them! They barley could get the ball past half court 1st qt score was 29-4 LKN half time score was 54-9. LKN coach subbed in bench players and did not allow the score to get out of hand final score 72-17. LKN ability to make 3s as a team at very high volume, press off makes/misses and athletic deep bench is unique for a public school. If they win there bracket at Cherokee they should get national ranking like in 2023.

Fake Schools

They're not "my" polticians. Trump did it because his daddy gave him money. He didn't self earn it or self start it. Then he bankrupted how many businesses along his way?

I agree career polticians need to be stopped and making money shouldn't happen when in politics. But the folks like the Virginia Foxx's of the world that have convinced you that Donald Trump is going to save the world are the same ones that keep these dark money PACs going and that refuse to sell stock.
You talk about dark money. What has the Soro’s family done to this country by spending untold amounts of money to get very progressive liberals elected especially DAs across the country.

How come all these world leaders are treating Trump like he is President right now.

Harris had over a Billion dollars for her campaign and ended up 20 Million in debt. That’s somebody we needed leading the free world

Mt Airy this year and the future

MA will have 19 Seniors next year and around 12 returning starters. QB position will prob be the Hemric kid who I am told is quick can throw and run triple option good. Get #51 Hiatt back as he was out with knee injury and #77 Moncus filled in at center very good. # 4 returns which is biggest one along with #12 #21 #22 and #71. Look for #5 the Mason kid to get more carries also. JMO
