nepsy, my nephew coaches over at S. Rowan. Their “opponent” backed out on them too, lost out on a home gate, concession’s, everything. This is setting a bad precedent.
South Rowan opponent is South Stanly, a small 1A school. They wanted to return to play at South Rowan today and were open to a start as early as 10am. South Rowan, the host school, would not play until Monday.
South Stanly coach, Terry Shankle (former UNC player in his second year), was ok with Monday. Their AD said he would not do Monday due to having a thirty (healthy) man roster, including eight quarter players, with JV and varsity games coming up Thursday and Friday.
I lean in favor of South Stanly in this one.
Think CG has turf. If so, they should have accepted the MC travel offer. If they have grass it would have been dependent on the condition of the field.
